  1. Thanks for the Grant Gee tip TL. Looked at it on IMDB and it sounds pretty good ... I'll definitely give it a watch. Never been a massive fan of Radiohead but if that guys makes good films then it will probably be worth a look as well. Still haven't watched 24 hour party people ... may have to suggest that to the housemate tonight. She's American (as you may have guessed!) but appears to love all the British music films, although I did have to spend a large proportion of the time we spent watching Control 'translating' for her. On the plus side I think she may actually start using the phrase 'fancy a brew?' in everyday conversation from now on :) Winner!
  2. Well said SKI :) Jehovah's Witnesses on the other hand piss me right off and I have been known to hide under the kithen table, well out of sight, when they come knocking. The ones that I have encountered just didn't know when enough was enough and were pretty bloody rude!
  3. Watched the film last night and loved it! Knew quite a lot of Joy Division and New Order stuff from when i was at Uni in Manchester (used to go to 42nd Street and the like), but didn't really know anything about the bands themselves. Such a sad story and a total waste of what would have been an amazing musical career. Getting quite into these music/band based films at the moment ... any recommendations for any more that are worth watching? I feel I should probably be chastised for never having watched '24 hour party people' given my time in Manchester, but that's next on the list. Cheers.
  4. Prodigy at Download in 2006 ... absolutely amazing! Everyone was packed into the smaller second stage tent (the organisers clearly didn't anticipate how popular they would be!) and the show was out of this world! People were climbing up the sides of the tent and all sorts ... madness! Biggest disappointment: Guns and Roses at the same festival. They played on the main stage almost at the same time as Prodigy (10 min overlap as G n R kept everyone waiting) and in comparison to all the other big name bands who had been on that weekend (Metallica etc) 'no one' watched them. When Prodigy finished everyone in that tent went to move venue, but 15 mins in to watching G n R, I wished I'd just got a beer and gone back to my tent .... shockingly bad and Axel kept stropping off! Real shame really.
  5. Well I see my venture on the GF has been met met with mixed responses and I see the sarcastic comments are out already! Nothing better to say? How can you be irritated simply by someones presence on what is in fact a public forum? :S Thanks for the good luck comments about America by the way - RL showed me some on here before I left as well. It's much appreciated and the whole thing is going really well so far. Ridiculously busy and doing very long hours some days, but worth it I reckon! A particular hello to Flying Pig, who it appears is the GF's answer to Terry Thomas. If you're nice to me maybe I'll share RL with you :) Although, I think I'll be saving any comments about Lurtz's member until a later date.* Don't want to overstep the mark on my second day ;) * It's huge!
  6. Suprisingly, it's in the dvd/cd tower with all the rest of the cds you nork ;) Don't do the stereotypical male version of 'looking for things' (i.e. standing in front of said place staring blankly, rather than moving things around and actually looking) and you might find it!!! And while I'm on here, hello to everyone else :D First post on the infamous GF ... exciting stuff! With love from the undoubtedly 'better looking, more intelligent and all around better' half of the one you know as 'Redder' x
