Stanhope sold out straight off. It's a small place and that's fair enough. Jefferies, I can't be arsed in that place. Didn't bother with Nick Cave there either. Big enormodome with shite sound, fuck that. Love Kitson but no I missed it last month and apparently it isn't available now either. Live only.

Just found my receipt for Jim Jefferies last year, I didn't mind paying £39 for it as it was part of a cracking night out in Newcastle, but fuck me Ticketmaster take the piss with their add-ons-

    Ticket Price: £39.00 x 2 = £78.00
    Service Charge: £4.90 x 2 = £9.80
    Facility Charge: £1.30 x 2 = £2.60

    Delivery Charge: £0.95
    Handling Charge: £2.50
    Total Charge: £93.85

I see another two votes for BJM,  none for KOL. Anyone fighting in KOL corner who hasn’t voted yet? That looks like the penalty shootout option to me. Maybe ask people to vote by 5pm today.

I think going forward, Stig could hold the casting vote in this scenario if he doesn’t cast a vote like Remmie mentioned.

Christ, the cunt's already rigged the draw and now you want to give him even more power?

I'm kind of baffled as to why we're getting so many updates about numbers anyway, it goes back to what I said higher up about damage to people's mental health.

Imagine if it was the flu? "A teacher has tested positive for flu. Dwayne the rock johnson has tested positive for flu and has warned that it's  "no joke", New Zealand has had its first flu cases in four weeks."

Yeah okay I get it, what do you expect me to do about it save kill myself?

At least in crises gone by we only had the news at 10, no 24 hour 'news', clickbait articles throwing out lines from non peer reviewed papers, social media disinformation, and loose women. If it was like this in the war we'd have ended up doing Hitler's work for him.

Are you actually complaining about the government giving out information? And it isn't the 'flu, so stop it.

    He straddles a fine line.

seen him live, brilliant, always sound on Twitter as well.

    Hahaha, understatement of the year.

Where did you see him? I've seen Jim Jefferies a couple of times, both excellent, but in big venues in Glasgow and Newcastle and the rawness was kind of lost.

Has he got more instagram followers than lebron james who peddles the LFC line. We get so many super-duper points for that.

Just checked, I don't go on Instagram so was interested- Lebron has nearly 60 million, Rodriguez has 46 million. Fake Ronaldo has the most out of footballers at over 230 million- https://sportsshow.net/most-followed-footballers-on-instagram/#:~:text=At number 5 in this, him almost 46 million followers.

Thing is, the big numbers on Instagram are pretty much for individuals with glamorous lifestyles. I doubt the millions of teenage girls who follow him are going to be buying up Rodriguez shirts and Everton merchandise. Plus there's just a bit of a difference between Real Madrid and a middle-ranking English club that hasn't won anything in most of his Instagram followers' lifetimes.

I mean Reznor's a genius as well, but outgunned on this one, for me.

True, but I'd rather listen to NIN than the Crickets. They're obviously very important, even vital to what came after them, but to me it's similar to wanting to play The Witcher 3 over Pacman or watch The Big Short over Citizen Kane (just plucking random examples out of the air there).

Now, the Crickets vs Motley Crue? No contest there...

Spot on. I fucking love Come on Pilgrim. It's small and perfectly formed

Great way to start the day. Holiday Song, Nimrod's Son and particularly Levitate Me are superb on that too.

The dross that's gone through instead of them, it's like Liverpool drawing Notts Forest in the first round of the '79 European Cup while Grasshopper and Bohemians go through.

There's quite a few youtube clips on this thread. If you were to listen to either Surfer Rosa or Doolittle albums, you would get a pretty good idea of whether you like them.

Doolittle is the best album, but yeah like mgw said Surfer Rosa is also essential listening.

The musical complexion of today would be very different without their influence IMHO.

I prefer Surfer Rosa these days, but they're both fantastic. If you do fancy listening to them, then probably go with Doolittle first as it's more accessible. Of their other albums, Come On Pilgrim is good, but more of a 'sighter' (it's an EP really). Bossanova was a bit of a disappointment, but only in comparison to Doolittle, it's still got some great songs on it. Tromple le Monde was patchy and was a sign of them burning out- they'd released 4 albums in barely 3 1/2 years by then and toured constantly, particularly in Europe.
