Yep, they're a real slog. I just really hope the focus isn't going to be Chani for Messiah.

I’d pay good money to watch Pickford have a penalty saved and the other keeper sprint to the edge of the box and boot it into the goal as Pickford tries to get back.
As Pickford blames everyone else, makes performative gestures and tries to dive from the halfway line.

Nolan's films ranked- https://www.theguardian.com/film/2024/mar/07/is-oppenheimer-christopher-nolans-finest-film-all-the-directors-movies-ranked
I'd put Prestige higher than his Batman films, it's a brilliant alt-universe film and really sucks you in. Aside from that, I was really surprised at the negativity in many of the comments. I haven't seen Tenet and don't fancy it given its reputation, but I've seen all of his other films and thoroughly enjoyed them. Interstellar and Oppenheimer are what the cinema's all about, and Inception is amazing. His Batman trilogy helped make superhero films respectable and were far more enjoyable than the Marvel production line, and Memento was superb. Bit weird to see so many people dislike his films.

Interesting article about future Dune films- massive spoiler warnings if you haven't seen or read the books, btw- https://www.theguardian.com/film/2024/mar/07/dune-movie-part-two-book-messiah
I'd be surprised if they do anything beyond Messiah. For a long time, the first book was considered unfilmable, and that applies in spades to the books beyond Messiah, which are incredibly bizarre.

I thought he'd peaked with his Kane impression, but he's back approaching those levels now.

If they could ever stomach him, I reckon Rodgers would fit them like a glove.
I doubt he'd go there, they're an absolute basket case of a club on and off the pitch. If he was daft enough though, he'd probably follow the same trajectory as Silva and Martinez- decent football compared to the utter dross they've been playing under Lampard and Dyche, a top ten finish, everyone getting giddy about a 'power shift' and then sacked when things inevitably take a downturn.

I’ve just finished season 1 of Better Call Saul. Much better than Breaking Bad for me, 8/10 so far.
It gets better as it goes along too, great series.

It's funny watching GB news hosts now having a go at him on twitter over his comment.
Extreme views are like porn. It starts off with soft core Swedish suff on channel 5 until that no longer does it for you, next thing you know it's kitchen utensils up the arse.
When shock media becomes the norm something has to become more shocking to attract interest, then the old shocking people become shocked by the new shocking people.
Over the last year or so, Nick Ferrari and Iain Dale have started to seem positively centrist to the point they've lost their rag with politicians and callers you'd previously have put them in the same bracket as.
It's sort of dimly amusing, watching these people slowly realise the hell they've unleashed. Same in the states, McConnell and Pence and their ilk rushing out to retirement homes while people in antelope costumes roam the halls talking about Jewish space lasers.
It's coming to a head, sooner or later we will have to take punitive measures against these people lest they be the death of civil society, if it hasn't been already.
Oh, you poor, sweet summer child.

Even by England standards, this is a majestic collapse- 5 wickets for 8 runs.

I'm no Sir Leigh Teabing but I thought the Templars were French?
Ah, but they defended the Holy land against the Muslims. Just like Ron and Terry pretend they're doing.

Straight away the Nurse goes "ooooh Everton fan" haha yeh I replied. Straight away I took a dislike to her. "You aren't doing so well are you" i just shrugged my shoulders. Just as I was putting my hoodie back on, she goes " don't you think we are doing very well l, considering the age of the players" I replied oh you mean the squad you put out against Chelsea, who by the way had a younger squad put out? I think she went on to try and question me, from which I sharply replied with a yes, yes they were. Then as I was walking off, the smarmy little cow went to the other nurses "he's an Everton fan"
I will point blank refuse her next time the horrible little witchhttps://www.reddit.com/r/thingsthatdidnthappen/
Although I can imagine the nurse didn't give a toss about football and was just trying to make polite chitchat.

We’ve got a branch meeting tonight. Don’t think I’m gonna go. We’re down to about six or seven ‘active’ members. All of them are on the town or borough council except me, so they’re more obliged to turn up I guess. I know that’s the only reason my mate’s going. He got elected onto the TC by accident.
If we were expecting any new members I’d show up, try to make sure they stay, but tonight feels pretty pointless.
I was planning on going the pub with my mate tonight anyway but I forgot I’ve got to do a speeding awareness course in the morning. Can’t be doing that with a hangover.
Why not? Everyone knows people drive better when they're pissed.

Elite put me onto this during lockdown. It's fantastic, get it through 4OD or I think it's still on Netflix. It tails off a bit in later series, but it's still very good.

She's both, absolutely hapless, same as that Helen Whately who used to get wheeled out to defend Johnson's Covid fiascos.

Can we have some spoiler tags or move discussion of Dune 2 to its own thread please. Still to watch and never read the book or watched the original film.
Sorry, didn't think. The board really needs spoiler tags back, bit stupid of the developers to remove them as they're a more than useful feature.

Still don't get why the PL would sanction clubs that left UEFA's competitions.
