That looks great, lovely views. Where about is it, somewhere in Ireland (sorry if I've missed it earlier in the thread)?

Edit: decided to stop being lazy and found it a few pages back-

The boss of hmrc appeared at a select Committee the other day.

He expressed surprise about the strength of feeling about the 6 month Close down of the self assessment helpline especially from minsters as they were told before but weren't concerned. ( and this was done due to a lack of recruitment)

He also had therese coffey say she went to a hmrc office during covid and hardly anyone was there. Despite the fact her government had mandated working from home. Real intellectual heavyweights these.

I'm sure that'll improve immeasurably when they sack an additional 70,000 civil servants.

  3. The last time I was as angry at a game was the 2-0 loss at Anfield in the 20/21 season. Similarly gutless performance- especially after the earlier Goodison game when Pickford assaulted van Dijk- in the middle of an absolute horror show of games (6 home games lost in a row, wasn't it?). I think it took us another month to get back on track. Obviously it's too late anyway, but this squad really need to step up now otherwise this season will go down in infamy.

  4. We actually looked most dangerous when he deigned to overlap on the right during a spell in the second half, but for a while around the 70 minute mark, he was almost playing at left back. Very odd, as was the way we didn't target Everton's left when Mykolenko was hobbling towards the end of the first half. I appreciate he's not long back from a lengthy injury, but this inverted full back tactic has to die. It doesn't help the team, and neuters Salah who was completely isolated for much of the game last night.

Did ‘Pint sized loser’ work as an attack line?

I think she pretty much nailed him.

Used the inevitable attacks to nail them on their complete failure of a housing policy too, although there'll no doubt be calls for a kinder politics without name-calling from the massed hypocrites in the Mail etc.

  6. The 1968 Charge of the Light Brigade is worth a mention. It highlights the pig-headed stupidity and vicious snobishness of the aristocracy, the rigid Victorian class hierarchy and the senseless waste of life caused by a lack of professionalism in an army where your rank was generally determined by your social standing. I haven't seen it in a while and it might have dated badly, but I remember it having a bit of a swinging '60s vibe and anti-war message.

    Nice one.

It amazes me how Juergen has kept going with all the adversity constantly thrown at him throughout his managerial career. At Dortmund he was up against a club that regularly nicked his best players off him. Here, he's been up against the oil cheats, and even then, lots of other shit along the way. Divock on fire? - along comes Funes Mori to break his ankle. Sakho - heroic on the Europa run, along comes a dope charge which puts him out of the final, but eventually just disappears (we end up with Kolo Toure in defence). Pandemic comes along - first title in 30 years and we can't even celebrate with the team, Alisson loses his Dad in a drowning accident, Klopp can't get to his Mum's funeral. The Diaz kidnapping! The one season we're relatively unaffected by injuries, we won the fucking thing.

Small wonder he needs a break. But what a fantastic 9 years it's been. Will we ever see such a perfect fit between manager and club again?

    He's a fucking jinx...
