Love how this thread has swung from amusement and self deprecating humour at start through to 'fucking hell we are bertie big bollocks, have that everyone else' to absolute woe - all in less than 24 hrs.
Boss.
Another swing yet?
Ye off a fucking rope

We have no idea if Caceido actually ever said he wanted to come here. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he didn't.
but what about the due diligence....

Usually the way we work is agreeing with the player they want to come to us first. How have we ended up putting in a record transfer fee for a player that only want to go to Chelsea ?

Lavia it is then. Played a blinder here
We'll bid 48mil for him and both Lavia and Southampton will tell us to fuck off

If Brighton have any class they will honour the deal and tell him it’s us or no one
I'm not sure class and honour have anything to do with modern day football.

It's becoming very clear why Edwards and Ward have walked away from what's happening at the club
-
(Regarding contact with Brighton) Liverpool say the exercise was part of their due diligence in the transfer market, primarily in case Chelsea cannot — or will not — proceed with a deal that has been dragging on. [@_pauljoyce]
Liverpool have made contact for Moises Caicedo, a player previously seen out of reach but still expect him to join Chelsea. [
That's it I've officially heard it all now. Talk about behaving like a small time club.

It’s fucking stupid, all of this messing around with tit for tat bids. Just sign a player we can actually afford.
Welcome back Arthur

I love when people say “just pay the money” like it’s a fiver. It’s £4m. Even if LFC end up getting this done for £49m they’d have saved £1m. ONE MILLION POUNDS. People have totally lost sight of the value of money in this insane transfer business.
Having said all that, if we get to the final day of the window and we’re just a million apart for someone we clearly desperately want, then, and only then, should we consider paying the full figure. We’re signing this fella on probably a 6 year deal. It’s for the long term, a few weeks won’t matter. This season is about top 4 so we’ve a bit of time to get our identified top targets instead of settling for other players for the sake of a few weeks.
All these leaks though are making us look like chumps if we don’t get this done.
We’ve recouped potentially 52mil from Hendo & Fabinio - also with them leaving along with Milner / Keita and Ox that’s a huge amount of money cleared off the wage bill.
Southampton have rightly put a price they value the player at. We are in desperate need for a No. 6 - we’ve the choice to pay it or move on to another target.
The way it’s playing out with our 3rd bid now getting rejected is making us foolish imo.
I can see why Edwards and Ward have walked away recently. If this is a player Klopp has identified & wants we should be behaving like a big club & get the deal done before the first league game of the season.
If we’re still dragging on looking to make signings with a couple of days of the transfer window open it just shows how badly organised we are.

A DM and possibly a centre half will surely be joining before the end of the transfer window.
I just can't see how it won't happen - it would be fucking madness if it didn't.
The same madness that had us get Arthur in on a free to “help” our midfield or when we did the same thing a couple of years ago getting a shite CB on loan when we had to play Fabiano & Hendo as CB’s.
Our owners have a track record of being making mad decisions in the transfer window.
pricking around over a couple of million for Lavia if it’s a player Klopp wants & not giving him the opportunity to get him in for preseason is a fucking madness

We got fucking Wayne Lineker trying to sort out the deals?
At least he scores with his targets….

Only got myself to blame got sucked in believing we’d get Bellingham & when that didn’t happen I thought the owners would spend big on the squad this window.
We’re about to start the season without a No. 6 & we look wide open in pre season games so far.
My fault for being a gullible twat. -
If we get Lavia over the line that's us done imo even though we need a couple more.
-
If 35 million is the fee for McAllister it makes more sense to get Bellingham in now as well.

To make matters worse, I don't think there's even a line about him running down the wing in that song.
I’ve always had a bit of a snigger when the line “give him the ball and he’ll score everytime” is sung given his goal tally is pretty poor.

McManaman is awful to listen too

Is part of the Ref training they have to be either from the Manchester area or support them ?
-
Even the push on Antonio in open play just after that - how can that not be given as a free ?!!

This is beyond a joke
im just waiting for the Ref to turn & try to score against West Ham

Newcastle pissed off about time wasting…

Dreadful today. The chance he missed for that ball from Trent was shocking.

That's it I'd say they are a basket case since Bohly came in last year with what they've been paying out and length of contacts - looks like they can't match our bid for Caceido so they're backing out of the deal for Adams to make more funds available.
