The game I was at, ended up 4-0 to Liverpool, Aldridge, and Ray Houghton were playing for Oxford that day. God, must be nigh on 20 years ago !

One of the best performances I've seen from Celtic that night, Big John Hartson's goal that night will live long in the memory. Just a pity we lost in the final that year, ye see, that cup would've meant a lot to us !!! Agreed, always a great atmosphere when we play Liverpool, remember the 2-2 game at Celtic Park, Mcmanaman scored a peach form the edge of the area after running from his own half, gutted at the time, still a joy to witness it tho'

More to the point, ye think he could cut it with a ' top 4 ' side ? I think Liverpool are such a team who could be doing with a good wide player, to run at defenders ? Do you guys think he could do a turn on the wings for Liverpool ?

Can't believe this thread is still on the front page ! You Guys !! Totally overwhelmed with the welcome, glad I made the decision to join the board, and I'm deffo gonna stick around. Funny you should say that ! The exact same mentality with our support, There's a hell of a lot of apathy within our support, attendances falling, the bubble has burst up here, the arse has fell out our game. Our PLC board seem more interested in downsizing our club. Anyway, would love to see Liverpool winning it this year, 19 years is far too long for a team of Liverpool's stature to go without winning the league, plus it would get right up the Manks !

Cheers Scouse, registered a while ago, it's only now I'm being able to post, everyone has been cool. so far so good ! Wasn't really sure how a Celtic fan would be welcomed on here, there is a definite affinity with our two clubs I think.

After the Merseyside derby, is it common to find both sets of supporters in the same pubs ? Is there much trouble ? That could never happen up here in Glasgow, the City Centre is like a warzone after we play the filth.

When you think of the experience Roy Evans has, I'm amazed no team has came in for him as mangaer, his time has probably passed now. Bet he's forgot more than most managers in the Prem/Championship know !!

Thanks for that, Would have loved the guy to have been a success for us, wasn't meant to be. Wasn't helped by the fact Henrik Larsson broke his leg in Lyon. After the Inverness debacle, he really had to be the fall guy though. Wish him success in his job.

Ah John Barnes ! Felt kinda sorry for him the way it ended at Celtic, had us playing some good football. The job imo, was too big for him. Wonder why he hasn't had a manager job since ?

As you can see from my name, I'm a Celtic fan, have a soft spot for Liverpool, ever since I was a wee lad, and our football team, got a tour of Anfield. Even touched the ' This is Anfield ' sign. Our trip coincided with with the Liverpool V Oxford league game ( show's you how long ago it was ). Anyway looking forward to having the chat with you guys, hope ye make me feel welcome. Cheers !
