    It won't.

Their own numbers show usage down over 25% in the last year. It would be difficult to have that adverse an effect even if you were trying to drive folks away. Tesla has been found out as well.

Gubmint contracts (Space X/Starlink) are what will keep him up.

Yeah he'd probably be in the shit a lot more if it wasn't for those contracts. I think his main aim with twitter is to try and help swing the election in whatever way he can for Republicans too, maybe after that's over in November he'll start getting bored and backing off more. Or if Trump gets in he might find that helping the US gov more with twitter issues is fine again seeing as they're in power and not Dems.

    If???

I meant as in causing him so many problems he has to let it go because of what it's costing him, I suppose when you have the cash he does though there'll always be a way to hold on to it if it's important enough. At least his mask is falling off now and enough people can see that at least.

Any people/groups/corps that would have enough to buy twitter would probably just want to manipulate it to their own ends anyway so maybe the site will never get anywhere near back to what it was before people starting making the mess that it's turned into.

  3. I wonder if Musk's excuse for retweeting that clip is that he's concerned about the "woke mind virus" invading US campuses or some shit, whilst ignoring all of the propaganda that's being spewed there and that the guy spewing it is a genocidal psycho. Complete cunt.

If his owning of twitter does go to shit I hope this becomes remembered as one of the moments where he started outing himself a bit too much before it started to go downhill, he can fuck off with that.

  4. I still think one of the main issues here is that he bought one of the Democrats favourite toys and then carried out the crime of saying he might be voting Republican. I'm not saying he's not a danger to democracy, he surely is being one of the richest on the planet and owning twitter with all of the agendas he has. If he'd have been talking about his support for Democrats though a lot of that danger would still exist but I don't think we'd be reading anywhere near as much about it.

By "they" - I meant Tik Tok.

No US court has upheld a Tik Tok ban except for usage by gubmint employees. Those are by individual states.

Ah thanks, thought you meant Trump won. I was wondering how the fuck Biden thought this was going to help his election chances as well but that issue has already been covered :

Tik Tok was already "banned" outright by a Donald Trump Presidential executive order years ago - they won in court.

This is him losing in court and then putting it off by the looks of it : U.S. Judge Halts Trump's TikTok Ban, Hours Before It Was Set To Start

Not sure what happened after that but it looks like things stalled until Biden revoked the bans and now he's about to go ahead with it anyway.

From an outsider's viewpoint America seems to be in the process of tearing itself apart over Israel. Could become a crisis not seen since Vietnam.

The older politicial elite appear and media seem a million miles away from a lot of the younger generations on the issue of Israel and Gaza. I'm wondering how much social media platforms such as tiktok (which I thought was was just kids doing stupid dancing) are having an influence.  Maybe the youngsters are getting information and ideas off each other on social media and not the traditional media outlets? I don't know tbh. What's now obvious is you've got young people as diverse as college graduates through to world champion American boxers (Ryan Garcia, 25, has pledged 20 million dollars to Gaza, link below) speaking out. Their appears a growing divide between the generations.  Possibly why the American political establishment are eager to ban tiktok?  The snapshot below shows how deep the divisions.

Yeah the TikTok ban is described well in this clip I think :
