  1. No idea who the 'terrorists' were or what their motives are but,if its anything to do with the Middle East then the question becomes 'What do you think you can take away from people who have already lost everything?' The obvious answer is 'nothing' and the cycle of violence continues. Paris,London,New York,Zurich,Berlin,Tunisia,Madrid and on it goes. As SD alludes to,if populations keep voting for things like Brexit and Trump they will never get it and we must live our lives almost under siege as its always the innocent who suffer while the guilty shamelessly continue with the same things that make these attacks a certainty.

Populations voting seems to be a big problem in the middle east also  .

  2. I think it's a bit too complex to just sort of try it you need to watch the whole thing to really appreciate it, you actually get to know the characters more than any other series I've ever seen. It's way more than a mafia series, it's genius, it really is.

No other mafia series or film focuses more on why this guy is the way he is and why he's in the mafia, it also shows that behind all the bravado of being in the mafia, family is the most important thing to most these guys. Unlike most series aswell you never ever get what you want to see, your teased with what you think will or should happen but it never comes, it's hard to describe or make my point without spoilers!

I think that's the issue Ive had getting into the Sopranos, I just don't get time to watch more than one episode every few days. Could do with a day where I can watch a few in a row.

  3. The Wire is a million times better than Breaking Bad.

I've watched nearly every good box set that's available and I'd have

    1. The Sopranos/The Wire depending on what mood I'm in, Sopranos is back on Sky Boxsets so I'm watching it again.

    2. GOT

    3. Entourage, purely because it's an easy watch, not the deepest or the best storylines but I love it!

I enjoyed Breaking Bad when I watched it but I'd never rewatch the whole boxset it's too slow and painful to watch at times.

Banshee and Narcos get an honourable mention also, it all depends in what mood you are in to watch and enjoy a series, if I wanted to watch light entertainment on a Saturday night I wouldn't pick Sopranos nor would I pick Entourage if I wanted to watch something that I needed to concentrate every second it's on.

I actually bought the DVD box set of Sopranos- its good but it just seemed to never quite get going- maybe I havent given enough time

  4. Your loving the renaissance. I think you've been to one of these fairs. Dressed as a dragon with the face of Tony Soprano. And got chased out by a group of dwarves

In your honour I'll maybe give the Sopranos another look. Please tell me the scrawny nephew fuckwit gets his face blown off at some point...

  5. I'm obsessed that my baby's mother has found someone else. I feel fucking helpless. It's not been helped by her texting me last week to tell me it was all over only to get back with this fella the next day. Her whole attitude towards me seems to have changed like the flick of a light switch.

I was going great until this happened this year (mid Feb).

Since then it's like a fucking darkness has descended on my life. I started dating just before she met this bloke. Ive fucked all that off. I was clean and sober for 6 weeks going the gym 3-4 times a week. Since this happened I've been bevvying every day nearly. Had to take time off work. Been hitting the drugs now and again which is fucking ridiculous. That had got me right in the shit a few years back.

My relationship with her was toxic. We split up 2 years ago but because of our daughter there was a lot of on again off again. Casual shags etc. I just can't bear the thought of my daughter having another father figure in her life. She's only 2. I guess I know I'm being completely selfish and insecure.

My ex is such a fucking nutter all my friends and family feel I should be having a party over this. I am having a party. A pity party. I just can't make these clouds lift. I just wish I could get back to my old self. I wasn't even eating carbs a few weeks ago now I'm fucked. Back to all my bad old ways in the space of a few weeks.

Any decent bloke would be respectful enough to know he could never replace you as her father and would be a fool to try.

Trust in your ex, her maternal instinct should always kick in and never allow her daughter to not understand and love her Dad. Unless your a complete tool, which I'm 100% sure your not given your posts.

If you can't be with your daughter everyday the next best thing is to be the best person you can be so when she see's you she gets the very best of you.

Apologies if all a bit profound but hope it helps!

  6. Surely they will all be Saints players?

I would have gone for Yaya Toure LAST summer. Offered us something different and would have given youngsters someone to look up to.

Think it would have rejuvenated him.

Instead he just plods on picking up his wages

I appreciate the above is flagrantly ignoring the six player narrative that is the essence of the very thread

  7. I jibbed the Walking Dead after a couple of seasons. It was go into a convenience store - get attacked by zombies, go into a drugstore - get attacked by zombies. Every episode felt like the same shit repeating itself. Although i've heard it's picked up again now in the 6th and 7th seasons.

If you haven't seen the first series of True Detective then i'd strongly recommend that. But i speak to some people and they hate it, so it's a polarising thing. But that series with McConaughey and Harrelson as far as acting goes is untouchable. Can't go wrong with Breaking Bad.

    Breaking Bad looks good.

Anybody seen The Blacklist? (James Spader)

  8. Narcos

    Breaking Bad

    24

    Sons Of Anarchy

Ive seen episodes of The Sopranos but never watched a full series. Someone mentioned Luther in another thread being a bit shit but I quite liked it. Couldn';t get into Better Call Saul but will revisit it. Same for Prison Break.

Ive never seen an episode of Game of Thrones in my life. I had the box set but my ex took it when we split. Anyone know anywhere online I can see it for free?

I thought Prison break was good, people keep on about The Walking Dead and Peaky Blinders

  9. Well....

After posing the question I tried Sopranos and got to start of season 3 and lost interest- thought it was a bit slow at times.

Moved on to Game of Thrones- Fucking Brilliant- just finished Season 6.

So the question now, is where to head from here?

  10. agreed, quick how he forgets that new boiler they got installed before christmas to play alongside him wasn't it.

On a serious note, he's saying what Torres said about FSG. Loads of promise about money being no object and  competing with anyone etc, but failing to deliver when it actually matters.

Im surprised how the EV aren't seeing the similarities here considering how much they know about our every move.

In fairness, the day he said that didnt we sign one of the best players in our history?
