  1. Some of you are very anti-barry and I have not got a clue why. Some of you just say bad things about the player cause he might replace a player that you hold dear to your hearts, and that is just not the way Liverpool repays its most faithfull servants. Thank god none of you are managers. I am going to be honest now and say that no matter what happens Xabi Alonso had a great time at the club scoring goals, making great passes and just overall creating the kind of memories that will be engraved in every Liverpool fans heart and I do not say that lightly. However his time has come to an end....... The master passer just simply does not pass or dictate the play as much as he suppose to in the past two seasons. Might down to injury or lack of motivation but if I was Benitez I would not give him another year. Its a gamble in the end and I fully agree with Benitez, sell him at his high price now before he decreases in value. In Gareth Barry Benitez sees (I think) a young rough diamond of Xabi. A bulldog of a player thats not afraid to get down and dirty when the play dictates so. An adaptable player than can cover ground quickly defensively of offensively. He might not be the passer that Xabi was but with Benitez I am sure he will learn much more than if he stays at Villa. Added the fact that he playing alongside Gerrard and we might see the start of a new partneship for club and country. I for one loved Xabi and respected for all he has done but it might be time to give way for some new blood to which some other prospects might seem more attractive and appealing.
  2. Hmm to be brutally honest i like the fact that Benitez is go out of his way to bring Barry to Liverpool. It will bolster our midfield and add some punch to it. Sure Barry might not be the fastest of midfielders but playing along side Steven Gerrard might help him in developing certain skills. Alonso on the other hand has been truning into a player like Barry over the years. Sure he might be a good passer but I think we need him to contribure more. He is defninatley not the player he was when we firstr signed him. On the other hand if Barry can improve his long range passing, then he might just be the complete package.
  3. hehe oddly enough I am still waiting for it to get to skysports to confirm it. But to be honest if it is true I dont think good old martin can say no..........
  4. Okay look, any team worth their salt would actually take a minute to think about how big of an offer this is. Forget for a minute that its Chealski, 85million can go a long ways to bulding a really solid squad that could content for the title next year. On the other hand, we are not talking about a small team with a world class player on their hands, we are talking about Liverpool the creator of world class legends. So now lets add the Chealse attribute and say no matter how high Chealse bid for Torres they would never get him. A previous example of this is the Steven Gerrard saga last year. He did not leave and I doubt Torres would leave too. He has had a terrific season for club and country and he states that he owes it to Rafa every chance he gets.
