I mean, I'm exaggerating as Brewster has only been back from injury for a short time now but I honestly think that if he hadn't had the injury he would have a lot of hype around him right now. He's really, really good. Definitely way better than Woodburn, who's stagnated pretty badly and had his loan at Sheffield United end go completely wrong.

But yeah, I'm overstating things I suppose. Probably comes from my underrating Rashford, who is actually a very good player but one I just have an automatic dislike for.

Woodburn is only 6 months older than Brewster, has made 11 first team appearances for us, scoring 1 goal, and 10 caps for Wales, scoring 2 goals. Brewster was top scorer at the U17 World Cup, which was a great achievement, but Woodburn has achieved way more. That's not to put Brewster down, he's very talented, and maybe he'll end up the better player, but the evidence, and I'd say the eye test too, says Woodburn is better now.

  2. Yeah, Glatzel has had an extra year at the U18 level, Brewster may well have been banging in as many goals if he'd been with the U18s last season. Brewster also has that pace which Glatzel probably doesn't, which may give an advantage in terms of breaking into 1st team football at an earlier age. They'd probably compliment each other quite well in the same team

Woodburn is the one though. David Silva type role for me

    Woolster's wishlist

Lozano - from what I have seen of him, which isn't loads I must admit, Lozano would be a perfect fit for the way we play, goals, pressing, workrate, determination etc.

Back-up keeper - I think that Adrian at West Ham and McCarthy at Southampton are 2 good, Premier League standard keepers who are sat on the bench at their clubs. They may want to leave to play games, but I'm sure they'd rather be on our bench than at their current clubs

Back-up left back - No fucking idea. I'd go for a seasoned pro who could perhaps also cover at right back, like a full back version of Klavan.

Wildcard - This time last year I was touting Son who was down to the last year of his contract. Well this year, Eriksen is down to the last year, and as yet doesn't look like extending. Would he cost a shit load? Yes. Is it likely to happen? No. But fuck it, its a wishlist.

In case of confusion, only 1 of those two keepers would be fine, I'm not saying we get both

  4. I'm not usually one for hot-takes, but here's one, Glatzel is potentially better than Brewster...

I'm not fully on this yet, but I have been so impressed by Glatzel and looking forward to see how he does with the U23s.

    I prefer Larouci to Lewis.

Lewis seems to be massively overrated, possibly on the back of Gerrards comments.

I've liked what I've seen of Larouci. Only recently started playing a LB too I think.

Oh, and I think Brewster will 100% be ready to get significant minutes next season. I'm not saying he should be Firmino's primary backup or anything but I'd be quite surprised if he was healthy all year and didn't get 1000 minutes or so. He's going to be a really, really good player; just to take one example, he's probably not far at all off Rashford's level even now.

Brewtser is no where near Rashford's level right now.

Brewster probably isn't even better than Ben Woodburn right now.

  8. Not sure of the amount of times I've said to people who try to add up net transfer spending to show that we haven't spent much that they are not including costs such as agent fees which can be significant, so I'm going to try and pre-empt that with the figures published for 1st Feb 2019 to 31st Jan 2019, showing that we spent £44m, £17m more than the next highest team.

Reckon a big chunk of that is Coutinho
