That's right, they have that big posh do with guest speakers to talk about the money making opportunities in Iraq.

Just a pack of cunts. Humanity means fuck all to them.

    One ex-president warned us.

  2. At the party leadership hustings, at the Liverpool conference centre, that lying bastard Starmer drew a round of applause by stating that he wouldn't deal with the rag. To those now saying the party should unite behind Starmer, ask yourself where the lawyer's own loyalty was when Corbyn was leader. Now, Starmer's treatment of his predecessor has moved from political manoeuvring to pure, petulant, immature spite. The Labour Party as it is and, I presume, as Starmer and his acolytes will keep it, is not an electoral option for many misled socialists.

I think the stuff I viewed was from his Hafnia period, although I think there was one of his works that cold be dated around the time he was influenced by Chang. But, yes - Boooo!

Yves Klein. Saw an exhibition at Tate Liverpool a few years ago. The intensity of his colour is quite brilliant but it did tend to be a bit ..... blue.

  5. Enjoyable hearing and reading all the outrage over our correctly awarded penalty today. If we hadn't been the victim of a horrendous piece of officiating for Palace's goal - being offside in a phase of play in which you score means the goal shouldn't stand - our sloppiness wouldn't have been an issue. So fuck Palace, fuck Vieri, fuck Carragher, fuck Sky and fuck the Dave Clark Five!

Roy Keane is a fully blown, grade A fucking intergalactic cunt. Never had any time for the piece of shit and never will.

Neville, Carragher & him can all fuck off with their Sky Sports 'banter' as well, my telly goes on mute the minute any of them start talking. They're not the only ones.

    Is correct.

We've all been like that kid at one time, but I blame his fucking father for making him support the shite. If they're not using their children as head guards in fist fights they're torturing with trips to Anglia to watch relegation battles. Evertonians are just demented.

They've had loads of flops along the way. Don't forget they've been spunking silly money for over 10 years, starting with Robinho (remember him), Jo - £30m, Mangala £42m, Jack fucking Rodwell -, Jesus Navas, go back through their decade of transfers and there's loads of them. They even spent £50m on a mediocre full back not so loing ago who turned out to have - aleegedly a questionable (rapey) character. Doesn't matter, though - it's only money and they have a bottomless pit. Unlike those clubs, like us, who live within their means - and according to the rules.

And money also gets you (Barney Ronay, are you listening), competence. If you spend money like water for 10-12 years - and you gradually improve the standard of your off-the-field staff (nad bring in a £20m a year coach), guess what - your hit rate tends to improve.

Guardiola doesn't have to put up with the constraints that Klopp does. He doesn't have to go shopping for free transfer centre haves from Germany, or relegated Scottish full backs. He's been able to buy the cream of up and coming (usually also established international) talent  - de Bruyne, Sterling, Stones, Sane, Silva, Laporte, Dias, Rodri, Torres etc. Interesting that a couple of those names didn't stay long, genuinely no idea why that was.

By the way, lots of us on here were fully aware of these players way before City paid top dollar for them.

I'll give Guardiola due respect when he actually takes on a club that is the underdog, and is significantly out-resourced, and wins against the odds. Until then.....

    Spot on.

  9. Ordinary stuff from both sides. One swing of the boot - and a bit of shite goalkeeping - settles quite an ordinary game. That's what's makes Liverpool such an attraction: dazzling, unpredictable, sometimes chaotic, often brilliant but never ordinary. We'll be City's closest challengers from now on and the league still has a lot of games left. Yet, whatever the outcome, we're the team to watch.

Liverpool will field a side mixed with youth and experience for Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup third-round tie with Shrewsbury Town at Anfield.

The Reds returned to the AXA Training Centre on Friday after the facility was closed for a 48-hour period following a significant number of suspected positive COVID-19 test results among the playing squad and staff.

With Jürgen Klopp and Pepijn Lijnders isolating, training was led by Peter Krawietz – and the assistant manager offered an update on the situation when addressing the media on Saturday lunchtime.

“I can’t tell you exact numbers, but obviously the situation is like that for the game tomorrow,” he said in relation to the club’s number of suspected positive COVID-19 tests. “We have a squad, we have a team, we can play and we will try to win this game.

“There’s a difficult situation out there. We had a couple of injuries, illness, COVID cases and this is the situation we have to deal with. We still have to wait for a few results as well; the players are not here [yet] for today, so they have to do their test before they can join the building and this is why I cannot speak about the exact numbers.”

Krawietz confirmed Liverpool have recalled one player from a loan to join the squad for the visit of the League One side, but suspected positive COVID-19 tests among the U23s set-up will impact selection considerations.

He said: “The situation with the loan players, yes, we have one loan player back and he will probably join the squad tomorrow.

“Of course, we are searching for options for this game and for the squad for tomorrow nearly everywhere, but we found enough players to build a team and have a squad for tomorrow.

“In the U23s we had a few COVID cases as well. A few players are back now again and can join the squad and we will choose a team which is able to follow our football way.

“Can we expect a perfect set-up for tomorrow? No, of course we can’t but we can always show the right and perfect reaction to what is happening on the pitch. This is what we try to do, a proper team performance with experienced leaders in the team and young players who will get this fantastic experience to play at Anfield and feel the support of our supporters.”

Krawietz displayed a Stasi trained silence on names, places and tactics. Masterful!

My mate's dad was a season ticket holder for 50 years and used to say that he hadn't seen a free kick given against us that he agreed with since Ronnie Moran put a winger in Walton Hospital  A & E in the mid 60's. He died last year ' so there is an opening , tb.

Thanks for the offer but I'll have to pass. I share my bigoted view of the game with close friends - yes, I have some - and family. Some of these younger folk wouldn't know real footballing bias iif it wheelied pass them on an electric bike - and don't get me started on their reasonable appraisal of matches they've seen: "City are a good team"!  Brainwashed by the know nothings on Sky and BT. We've lost the game to statistics and fair mindedness.

Sorry mate, but agree to disagree. He smashed Azpilicutea (if I've spelt that right it's a miracle) straight in the face with a forearm. Definite red card by today's rules.

Edit: was meant to quote torahboy

No need to aologise: your viewpoint is as valid as mine, but this time, incredibly, I'll go with Anthony Taylor's and VAR's decision on the incident. Maybe a word with Azpilicueta over his dreadful play acting was in order.

I know we're all biased, but Mane's challenge was as nailed on a red card as you're ever likely to see. Any other time in the game and he's off no question.

Unless Mane puts his sweatband around the crook of his arm that is no normally formed human's elbow. Got a yellow and that's just about right, maybe a little harsh coming so early in the game.

  14. Poor performance. In fact it was a fucking awful performance against a rag tag outfit coached by a fucking rag tag manager. Writing the league off in December seems to come very easily to some of the gobshites on this site but there is a way to go and lots of games to play. City aren't infallible; they're in a strong position, but so were we last Christmas and look what happened. Anyway, for anyone feeling suicidal after tonight's result I suggest that you follow your heart. For the others, keep hope alive.
