  1. I won't be watching this latest Laurel and Hardy double act - it just induces another crashing sense of impotence and frustration. They cherry pick the situations Webb wants to talk about and prepare some form of words to justify or obfuscate blatant fuck-ups instead of just accepting them as the mistakes that they are. But I suppose, if he did that, he'd be acknowledging that there's a regularity of gross errors that something would have to be done - starting with him getting the sack.

The complete lack of integrity and honesty about all of this. Atwell lied when he said Doku touched the ball before Mac Allister did. Atwell HAS to be insisting that Young did not get the ball but did get the man. Taylor makes three 'subjective' calls - and there's a very strong argument that he got all three wrong (one is actually not subjective in any degree). I don't suppose they talked about the Areola/Gakpo fiasco? - Probably need more time to find some slippery, fantastic excuse for Taylor, who meanwhile sails on serenely with another match at the weekend (after 2 consecutive shitshows).

No wonder Juergen is on his Fahrrad.

  2. This is on Facebook this morning, responses are without exception positive and supportive. Can you imagine Guardiola getting this kind of treatment (apart from maybe the jewellers of Manchester)….
    ‘Dear Formby Bubble:
Hi everyone, I have been giving some thought to an idea about giving Jürgen Klopp and his lovely wife some sort of a Formby send off. Both of them have been so generous not only of their time but their generosity as well to the village, mixing and joining in with the locals. They have done so much for Liverpool football club but for the city as well, I thought some sort of a gesture of appreciation from us would be a lovely thing to do. Any thoughts out there if you think this is a good idea, if not I will go it alone. Thanks for reading this.’

How exactly is Ben whites clear impeding of the goalkeeper not deemed to be "impeding the goalkeeper "?

Beat me to it. Needs to be greater clarity as to how much you’re allowed to impede a goalie. He definitely blocked any attempt the goalie could make to come for the ball.

Mine is the most charitable interpretation possible. And he still emerges looking like a fucking cunt.

Yup, whether incompetence or cheating, he shouldn’t be reffing games at this level….. and this comes straight after his shitshow at Goodison last weekend when he missed three Forest penalties.

I think some of the last minute wins, in retrospect, papered over some severe cracks. If you’re needing 98min winners against relegation fodder there’s something wrong, regardless of how amazing it is in the moment. If anything the last few weeks should bury ‘the cult of Darwin’ - like everyone else I 100% wanted him to be a huge success, but where once we bought El Pistolero on this occasion we ended up with El Pisholero. It would be 100% wrong to blame him solely as we win as a team and lose as a team, but few could argue that strikers missing sitters/half chances time-after-fucking-time just absolutely kills the team. If it’s Slot, so be it. We need to get behind him, give him a decent chance and see how we get on. I suspect we’re going to need major surgery up-front as I can see at least two for the front five leaving, so let’s hope Edwards / Slot have their shit together from day 1.

I've been happy to cut him plenty of slack this season (I'm sure he's grateful for that) as I think he's been really unlucky. He's hit the woodwork more than twice as often as the next person in that chart and at least three goalies have pulled off point blank worldies, which so easily could have richoted into the net as come back out. However it'll be a long time before I forgive him for hitting Pickford's legs when that dickhead left three quarters of the goal invitingly open for him.

  6. Kudos for writing this and also doing the derby podcast & report - hopefully the latter two were cathartic but I doubt it. Hate to get drawn into conspiracy-type thinking but the extremely generous refereeing Everton have benefited from in the last two games is deeply suspicious. The 3rd penalty claim is the most outrageous as it’s the very definition of ‘clear and obvious’. He indicates that Young got the ball. Factually, he didn’t and it’s incumbent on Atwell to confirm this. THIS is what Forest should have centred in on.
When we’re doing well, it’s easier to overlook what a cesspool the PL is. When we’re we not, you’re just reminded of the general cuntery, the cheating on and off the pitch , the brain-deadness of the banter merchants and tragedy chanters, the buffoonery of the pundits….. and don’t get me started on PGMOL.
I need the close season, and I need it NOW!

Even if that is the case then what the fuck does that say about the "mentality monsters" that they've allowed that to happen?

I really don't know any more. On the one hand, they've won more points than anyone from losing positions (usually after gifting the opening goal in the most dozy fashion). On the other they've been very fragile for the past month and been severely lacking when the opposition has been very physical eg Atalanta and last night. I hear what you say about reading the room and adapting to the way the referee is officiating (ie giving them everything and us nothing), but there were fouls given last night when there was minimal or even zero contact, including, IIRC, the one against Jones which led to their goal. It's no surprise that all of our bookings were for dissent when our lads had a hissy fit when beyond-soft fouls were awarded against them. Not the right reaction, but not as bad as mine!

Fuck knows where we go from here, though.

Extremely harsh there. He didn’t let anyone down at all.

The season turning to shit was the FA Cup game, not the league game. And if anyone has let us down, it’s the attacking element of the team.

Is right. The moment the season turned to shit was in the cup game when Nunez played that square ball at 2-3 that led to their equaliser. Confidence shattered at that point and hasn’t recovered since.

Every time my mother mentions Klopp she says that he doesn't look well and she thinks he has an illness. I've just brushed that off, but I am beginning to wonder if there is more than just mental exhaustion at work.

Maybe. I think he’s just worn out by having to compete in a rigged game, the continuing awfulness and bias of the officials, getting shafted by the tv companies, the inanity of the media, the relentless bad news - losing Jota and Gakpo on the eve of the derby and having to rely on Nunez and Salah for goals. We now have the shortest turnaround time of any team before our next 12.30 kick off at the weekend. It wears me down, I can’t imagine what it must be like for him.

At my age watching my reds since 1971 i can get very reflective quicker after losing my shit, or worshiping at the Anfield Altar. For me the Title race is run, we will finish 2nd or 3rd. I will enjoy our run in and hope that whatever happens we give JNK something to enjoy, more moments he can look back on.

Some will only want to reflect on the season once its over, for me personally that's too late,, Why? because he will be gone by then.

Don't get me wrong i want us to win out and see what happens, I want to win the PL for him as much as the next fan, i am just relaxed about it whether it happens or not

I look on it like this. Imagine just for a second Klopp was staying to see out his contract. Expectation and the desperation drops, we don't chase the Fairytale or the Hollywood ending, and after last seasons debacle he and the lads had to endure then deliver this:

Much changed Squad, New Midfield additions

Bajetic, Matip Thiago out all season.

Literally EVERY player be missing through Injury for significant periods

Encounter countless officiating errors that are beyond belief in key games

Consistently give goals away either first or equalisers

Only keep 9 clean sheets in 33 games.....

Lose one of you strikers because some cunt kidnapped his father!

    BUT

    Win a trophy.

You will flutter around at the top of the table, possibly winning the League, at least going close.

After 33 games you will have only lost 2 Morally

Discover that Kelleher is a really top class back up keepe

See who this Quansah lad is that none of you had heard of, and how fckin good he is

Emergence of Bradley which will see twitter virgins want Trent sold!

See Dom look every inch the new Gerrard for a portion of the season when he carried us very early on. huge potential

Endo after a shaky start work it out and became a cult hero and looks a fckin steal

Macca at 6 now at 8 now doing what we expected him to do even though he looks knackered after a warm up!

Joe Gomez being Injury free and fucking sensational every game wherever he played

Robbo and Virgil getting their Mojo back

The development of Danns, McConnell, and Clarke.......

Just because we shit the bed twice v Man Utd (no lack of effort, just Composure and game management) and Palace at Home ("one of those that even City get") we are moping and groaning why? because Klopp is going. That is the only reason. The pressure and emotion we are putting on ourselves, its actually impacting negatively on the atmosphere sometimes when we want to celebrate a generational manager

Klopp will be disappointed at the end of the season if we don't win the title, not for himself, but for us, the players, everyone he holds dear, which is why we are so desperate to win for him.

I am trying to look at it from HIS perspective.

If this very young squad can develop as they should, we are going to be in for a fantastic next few years, they are Klopp players he will get all the reflective glory and deservedly so.

I for one am proud of the lads (still 5 to go) despite what happens, as i look around at the other Squads in the PL there is none as powerful and talented as ours, (when they are all fit). We are challenging them on their "Mentality" but they love Klopp as much as we do, we are ALL trying too hard, human nature. Take his departure out of this and what a fuckin squad we have, and what a season we have had given last season and the adversity this season.

Look how thin City Squad is now, Chelsea's full of kids and big time knobheads, Arsenal, relatively lucky with Injuries but thin as fuck...

We have world class players, we have young players who will be world class players.

The sooner we get off the Fairytale train and get on board relishing and celebrating the young talent that is Klopp's  legacy the sooner we can enjoy the last few weeks of him.

We all want it for Him, but lets look at what we have achieved this season despite all the setbacks, Injuries, Officials, Finishing, Conceding... but lets celebrate what we have done, and relish what they could do in the next 5 years..... and go out celebrating the Man we will miss

    Nice one.

It amazes me how Juergen has kept going with all the adversity constantly thrown at him throughout his managerial career. At Dortmund he was up against a club that regularly nicked his best players off him. Here, he's been up against the oil cheats, and even then, lots of other shit along the way. Divock on fire? - along comes Funes Mori to break his ankle. Sakho - heroic on the Europa run, along comes a dope charge which puts him out of the final, but eventually just disappears (we end up with Kolo Toure in defence). Pandemic comes along - first title in 30 years and we can't even celebrate with the team, Alisson loses his Dad in a drowning accident, Klopp can't get to his Mum's funeral. The Diaz kidnapping! The one season we're relatively unaffected by injuries, we won the fucking thing.

Small wonder he needs a break. But what a fantastic 9 years it's been. Will we ever see such a perfect fit between manager and club again?

  11. Harvey’s role in tgdd ex Gravenberch goal shouldn’t be underestimated. Having crossed the ball, he chased back to intercept Iwobi’s pass before laying a nice, albeit straightforward ball to Gravenberch for an assist.

I think Leno ‘s save from Gakpo - who had a good game - was better than you give him credit for.

U21s 2-1 down at Sunderland with 5 minutes left and they're lucky it's not much worse. Been shite since Koumas scored early to give us the lead. Mrozek is the only reason it's not 4 or 5.

Danns has been subbed for Blair.

Bit of a tough lesson for the lads, they were kicked, pushed, grabbed all game on a  pitch that was no better than a local park. Good prep for a cup game away to a league 2 team. At least Bajcetic got 45 minutes.

Great game on now, Leeds 3-2 up away to Middlesbrough. Reminds me of the PL pre-Pep before he sterilised it.

Yup, complete with clear cut offside not spotted by linesman. Which of course is why VAR was brought into the PL. unfortunately the idiots at PGMOL have made a complete bollocks of it.  Championship is deffo way more fun than the PL.

  14. In other news…. Arsenal’s constant good fortune continues with the news that Chelsea’s best player and top scorer Cole Palmer is ill and unavailable tomorrow night. Feels like the stars are aligning for those smarmy fuckers.
