  1. So, if maddock's is right, it looks like to keep his job he has to

deliver CL qualification, if that looks out of reach, he'll be sacked

continue to work with a transfer committee or DoF

continue with player recruitment of 25 and under

  2. Them wanting to wait until this review doesn't mean he won't get shit canned it just means that if he does it'll probably set us back a month or so meaning they'll have an excuse not to dig deep in to the transfer funds.

That really is hysteria. I know the owners are coming in for 'some' criticism right now but to suggest they want to delay sacking him (if that's what they intend to do) so it gives themselves less scope to dig into the transfer fund as much, well, tis a joke.

  3. Wow Matthew it took you four months to realise how shite we were in the Champions League and what a complete joke we made of our return to the competition, not to mention our Europa League campaign....

Rafa is a Legend, a fantastic manager and tactician like light years ahead of Brendiola.

I feel some sadness watching the video above, though, watching Chelsea bastards surrounding Reina and our captain or any other of our senior players were nowhere near to support Pepe.

Nowadays of course no Liverpool player would tackle like Reina or bother to look the Chelsea bastards straight in the eyes. It stems from the manager too, Brendiola shits his pants when he sees or listens to Mourinho. He even gave the chance to Gerrard to get a standing ovation at the infamous Bridge. I want to vomit until the end of time.... we deserve better than this.

What a load of fucking guff.

  4. Spot on. Imagine having to face Ferguson at half time with a display like that, at Stoke - or (dare I say?) his modern-day equivalent; Klopp. Much easier and less daunting to face David Brent-style consultancy bollocks, all backed up by an organisation that makes the Civil Service look like ISIS. Management and decision making by committee, with a total lack of accountability and failure to deliver.

Yeah, ferguson made them change their strip at half time (southampton away) I seem to recall.

This is all getting tedious. The 'this manager wouldnt stand for it' or the 'this manager wouldnt let it happen' blah, blah fucking blah.

It was a shocking performance but let's not absolve the players of that even if they dont respect or like the manager any more, eh?

  5. Call me mad, but I think Raheem will stay providing we get the right manager in.

Ok, you're mad. Seriously though, I just dont see it. He knows the fans are on his case now and he'll never get the song he wanted.

I just think its past the point of no return. Just a question of when he goes and how much we get in my opinion.

  6. Playing catch up. That was a deeply shocking result. Gutted for Stevie more than anything, as the fella is a legend and he deserved to go out better. I don't even know where to start on the rest...

We were ace last season. We all (or most of us) thought Rodgers was potentially on the cusp of becoming the next great Liverpool manager. Lovely football. Energy. Pressing. Goals.

This season got off to a terrible start, so much so that a lot of fans started to question the manager or even call for his head. But then we went on a run and all of a sudden we were right back in it for a top four finish. Not what we wanted after a title challenge, but a season of consolidation at the top table, while some of the youngsters gained experience, sort of all made sense.

Then the wheels fell off. Man Utd had their own wobble and were there for the taking, but we were worse again. And then today's result just seemed to plumb new depths of ineptitude.

I've been slow to criticize the manager even if it has been warranted. I genuinely thought we'd finish this season, then he'd have a bit of a debrief with FSG, possibly even have a new structure imposed, and then be backed to go again next season.

But not now, surely. The wheels have fallen off so spectacularly that there are enormous question marks all over the place. Won't the players play for this manager any more? (Shame on the lot of them for that. Suarez was arguably the best player in the world last season and he bust a gut for Brendan and Liverpool. Where is the pride in today's crop?)

I honestly don't know how you come back from this. I will be very surprised if Rodgers isn't fired soon. Bring Klopp in. Back him to add players - surely he knows the German market at least? And he's a leader, so hopefully he will have them playing for him?

There's no guarantee that any manager will be a success, given other issues at the club, but it does look increasingly likely that Brendan has reached the end of the line. We will know soon enough.

Sorry Im out of positive rep for a few hours but this is a great post. No knee jerk or backing the manager without question.

Pretty much sums up how I see the situation now.

When you consider as you say that this was Gerrard's last ever game for the club, just what were his teammates thinking? That's the way you repay a club legend by strolling around half asred because a, you may not be at the club next season, b, its end of season and your on the beach, c, you dont rate the manager any more or d, all the fucking above.

I dont know what the future holds but I will be surprised if he's not relieved of being manager very soon. Something is seriously wrong in the club and its nothing to do with with Ayre.

  7. Play off trophies.

Getting promoted is the prize, why give them a trophy.

Don't mind the play offs a such but the trophy is totally unnecessary.

Fucking weird arent they? Doesnt the club coming second in the leagues thereby getting automatic promotion not get a trophy but, the teams that win promotion by the play offs do?

  8. You know there's only one real solution don't you?

Sign the Stoke player that caused the problem. That's if Ayre, etc, can pull it off of course.

OK so you dont think players going past him is going to be a problem if he plays in midfield?

That's fair enough if you think that. Im just saying Im not convinced by him yet.

  9. No, the point is, he was bought as a central midfielder and finds himself as a right wing back because we had a manager who was too clever for his own fucking good. Despite doing pretty fucking well when called upon in that role for a few games.

Oh dear. I'll spell it out then. It doesnt matter what position a professional footballer plays. If he's easily beaten by a player running past him at RB or wherever, the chances are that'll happen anywhere on the park.

Unless you're calling into question his professionalism (which i dont think you are) and he cant be arsed stopping people running past him because he doesnt like playing RB despite having played there on ocassions in Germany.

  10. Read it again v-e-r-y- s-l-o-w-l-y.

    Dime Bar? Dime Bar.

Couldnt wait to jump in. Too funny.

Im not convinced by Can at RB either. I was fairly impressed by his burst from midfield at the start of the season to score against the title winners though... a performance that led to him disappearing from view then resurfacing at RB as part of Brendans vision....

    Fuck me sideways....

Ha! Already edited it. It was the Phillipe that threw me.

Point Im making about Can is, if he lets people run past him at RB what makes people think it wont happen in midfield?

  11. Not quite a fact in the end, but the point stands.

    Remy: 853

    Balotelli: 939

    Lambert: 839

    Sturridge: 752

    Borini: 399

Fucking minutes mean squat. He's scored 4 goals or thereabouts, hasnt he? 2 today while we struggle.

  12. I can only think of 5 that id keep.

Ming as a very good back up

    Can as a decent MIDFUCKINGFIELDER

    Ibe

    Flanagan

    Phillipe

    Skrtel (Captain)

    Maybe Lallana.

The entire midfield apart from Can should be sold at auction.

Allen Henderson Lucas all need to be gone by md August.

Massive rebuild required. By someone who knows what the fuck they are doing please.

You wouldnt keep Coutinho!? Have you lost it?

As for Can, I need to be convinced. And Im not.

  13. I'll be sad to see Rodgers go.  Today definitely had the end of an era feel about it.

Good luck to the next guy.  You have to be a little bit crazy to manage us, like Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon.  A bit unhinged, capable of flipping and doing anything like jumping off a building onto an inflatable.

    Klopp nailed on then!?

  14. A good humbling can do a world of good for arrogance, which Rodgers has in abundance. If he does stay, and I hope not, FSG could do a lot worse than convincing Stevie to stay on as an assistant, learning the manager's trade the way Giggs is. Let Rodgers manage with his future replacement at this side, reminding him that he's on by a thread, if at all.

As much as I hope, can't see FSG eating the rest of his contract. Humble him, including with a DOF, and Stevie on the bench, and see how he does. To stay without any changes would be stupid in the extreme.

There's no way Stevie can stay. He's signed a contract with Galaxy. Cant see them releasing him from that no matter what.

  15. If Rodgers does get sacked Rafa is the best man for the job, the creative players are there and the areas the team need to improve in are Rafas strengths.

Klopp would be a gamble but I could understand the reasoning, if neither of those are available getting rid of Rodgers shouldn't be considered.

Benitez is in line for the Real job if ancelotti goes. Besides, I think we need to move on from him.
