  1. Get your facts straight. 1969 Fairs Cup Winners, 1955 FA Cup Winners, 1927 League Champions are their most recent honours.

I can't stand them. Loyal supporters my arse. There's no other club anywhere near the city so they should get big crowds but they only have since football was invented in 1993. Revisionism means the 13,000 gates uncer Ardiles aren't mentioned. They didn't sell all their season tickets this summer until the mugs fell for the Owen pantomime.

They are a bunch of buffoons. They come to Anfield with their fat bellies and no shirts and trot out the same old tired songs like "Sign On" and have the cheek to sing "In Your Liverpool Slums" even though their city is a shithole. They are clueless about other teams. Gobshites of the highest order.

Self-adulation is no praise. People say they have a special relationship with the FA Cup. Why?

I'd love them to get relegated.

Man speaks the truth! Here here

  2. One of the reasons for that is that he has been playing with injury to help the team out when the fixtures piled up. He never complained to the media, telling us that he would soon show us what he could do, He just kept working. Last night was his first game for over a month, and of course he lacked sharpness. In the last game he played before his injury spell, he saved us with a brilliant goal against Bolton. Luis never hides, even when he is having a bad game. That shows character, so i think we should cut him some slack while he gets fit again.

Agreed. Spot on with that. And he has actually improved this season. Some of his performances have been top drawer (main example being west ham). Plus once the champs league starts, he will again be very important for us. I also get the feeling morientes will prove very useful on the road to Paris.

  3. I think mori's a gonner at the end of this season even if he does offer things besides goals. Cisse we know is probably off

we'll make a loss on both of them, but i think if robbie wins a new contract and flo and mellor do well on loan, we would only need one more top striker

that should be owen me thinks - so 12mil for the pair will do me

  4. Seems fair enough to me, but be prepared to miss out on some players, especially those who don't want to 'sit tight' in order to rip off their current clubs to get us a lower fee. (ala Walcott)

    Hi Rash,

i've got a wager on the number of times 'sit tight' will appear today

    keep 'em up

  5. Can I have your season ticket? ;)

    LOL

i've got 2 in the kop - make me an offer

only kidding. my brother & some mates will be going instead of me while i'm not there

gutted to be missing tonight, but back for the arsenal game

    fowler hat-trick anyone?

  6. Greetings fellow reds,

I am new to this forum, cos despite having bought the fanzine since issue 30-something, i have not had internet access over the last 2 years.

Been going through as many posts as i can and i'm now hooked (specially with Rashid's banter!)

Despite holding a season ticket, i have recently accepted some work in dubai, and will be spending 5 months a year here.

Was wondering if anyone had any info on launching a supporters club in the UAE. There are many fanatical reds here and there's even an unofficial 'Liverpool Bar' where we watch all the games live.

Incidentally, a good friend of mine (and former season ticket holder) has just signed up the masters league to Dubai (featuring the Mighty Reds of course) and he would be interested in setting somehting up with the club.

    Would welcome any useful info.

Looking forward to getting to know u all.

  7. Highs and lows along the way

1993, April: Signed first professional contract with Liverpool, two days after his 17th birthday.

September: Makes debut in 1-0 defeat by Chelsea and scores first goal two months later against Aston Villa.

1995/96: Scores 29 goals in the season, including four against Bolton and makes England debut in March against Bulgaria, the first of 26 caps.

2000/2001, May: Wins League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Cup treble.

November: Signed by Leeds for £11million after scoring 171 goals for Liverpool.

2003, January: Joins Manchester City for £6m, but scores just two goals in his first 17 games for the club.

2005, May: Misses late penalty as City fail to reach UEFA Cup by only drawing with Middlesbrough, who qualify instead.

2005/06, January: Scores final goal in City's 3-1 win over rivals United. Re-signs for Liverpool on free transfer.

He seemed to conventiently forget that Robbie's debut was in fact a goal-scoring cup tie at fulham. That he then got 5 against them 2 weeks later, and scored a hatrick in only his 5th league game v southampton.

    twat weston!

  8. Which teams do you reckon will fight it out in the Paris final in May?

If we get there I'd personally love for us to meet Lyon, Milan or Chelsea

Lyon because I'd love to see Rafa's style against Ged's.

Milan because I'd love us to spank them properly this time.

Chelsea because if we won it's break their fucking hearts! (the other result isn't worth thinking about) :no

I would like to play lyon, and not for any sort of get-back...

more to show houllier how far we've come since he left. our progress in quite incredible if you analyse it! but not exactly a glamour final!

also, dont think milan are good enough this year.

with chelsea there is a flip-side. just remember how you felt when those bastards beat us in cardiff. and then multiply that ill-feeling by 1,000

we beat them last year, and i reckon barca will go through this time

so for me its Barca in the final. a team which i will feel no shame in losing to. and our spanish contingent can maybe try and convince ronny to give anfield a go :whatever:

  9. Get gerrard back in the middle ,and get a quality rigth winger, its still a top priority in my opinion as much as a striker.

    again spot on

i think rafa feels the same way too

its one of those really obvious decisions thats aren't often so clear

ps - i like the lad but i really feel warnock is not good enough at this level.

maybe selling him and traore to raise funds for a new left-back might be another summer option?

  10. teams are singling out alonso in particualr now ,more so with gerrard being out wide

spot on and thats we need them both in the middle. momo is great for certain games, but why didnt hamman feature? surely this wiuld have been his type of match?!?

also i think moro needs to be sold sooner rather than later, otherwise his value drops. if robbie wins a new contract, then we need to make space for one more.

and cisse is not good enough for this club!

  11. Kuyt possibly in summer. Speculation and constant rumours have been ongoing. I wouldn't mind Nihat from Sociedad as well

Is he still doing the business. I heard he was badly off form.

What about the deofe rumours? Swap for cisse anyday.

We could have Crouch, Defoe, Fowler and Mellor next season! All english frontline!

  12. Hmm. I reckon the fact that he earns £60,000 a week and would be impossible to shift off the books might have had an impact on Benitez's thinking.

You really think that why he plays him?

You may have a point as he is obviously far more marketable now, but i can't see us selling until at least gonzales comes in and proves his worth

  13. I think the main point has to be Rafa's first season.

We were piss poor because he brought in some wrong ideas and some wrong players for the premiership. And if you remember we weren't exactly brillaint in the group phases (plus we were quite fortunate that Depo suffered their worst season for years!)

Some teams get the luck they need in the CL and you have to admit we had a fair bit. However Rafa's tatical nous showed in Turin and vs Chelsea and its something Wenger has never mastered in Europe. So i think arsenal would have to have plenty of luck to win it.

BTW, i've been away for a while, but I've been told that our run-up to the final is fairly straight forward?!? Can anyone shed any light?

  14. Do you guys reckon that would be smart?

I mean, if he does well for us, there is still no way in hell they'll sell in the summer!

So do we really want a 'Loadsamoney' within our ranks?

I say if we can't buy him don't loan him. Let his career sufffer at chelski. it's his own fault anyway!

  15. :D

Without wanting to set off another war, didn't we end up paying about £3m more for Heskey just so we could get him a bit earlier, the excuse being that it would be worth it to get him to help us qualify for the CL?

Yes but that was houllier and we don't really want to use him as an example. You tell me which other club was prepared to pay 14mil for Mr.T? 10 mil for El GobShite? 4 mil for a sheriff who'd been shot before he arrived? 5 mil for a croatian who never knew the time of day? 4 mil for a zidane looky-likey? etcetera, et bloody cetera

Plus i think he wants the players now to maintain a (sort-of) challenge to chelsea and to help RETAIN the champions league. With Rafa, we are back to our traditional ambitions, not some two-bob, 'fourth-place is an achievement' rubbish!

  16. So, how much d'you reckon we'll get for this lot:

Dudek, Cisse, Troare, Cheyrou, Diao, Medjani, Kirkland (am i missing anyone?)

Plus Pongolle and Le Tallec maybe?

I think if these are all sold, we'd only really need to replace Cisse. So they money could all go towards a new striker and/or right-winger (depending on Robbie's form)

So how much: 3 + 7 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 3? say 15mil. if the board give us 5mil more (specially with automatic champs league qualification) i'm sure that would be enough to bring in a proven out-and-out scorer. The question is who? Defoe doesn't excite me enough. I've heard good things about dirk kuyt. Maybe someone more established like trezeguet or makaay? If we do get owen back for 10-12 mil that'll leave us with enough to bring in a top quality winger too!

I actually think for the frist time in years we really are only one or two players short of a capable squad!
