  1. Did he do anything wrong last night?

Did you notice his positioning for both the goals?

Did you notice his positioning for their two chances that struck the woodwork?

Did you notice his lack of quality on the ball?

Did you notice he hasn't started a game for a while?

Do you know why he was included yesterday?

  2. They guy is not a left back.

His pace doesn't make up for his lack of intelligence.

    His mistakes often prove costly.

He continues to add nothing to the team from an attacking perspective.

If anyone can fill me in on what Rafa might have been thinking, I'm all ears...

  3. Losing matches should hurt like hell. I can understand if they have just caught him at the wrong time smiling away but you should be down after a defeat like that. You should be busy considering what was wrong and how it isn't going to happen again.

Chris Bascombe (in a recent interview) mentioned that the press always notice the players who were down and those who acted as if they couldn't care less, following a defeat.

I hope to God Riise isn't one of the latter. He seems to give it his all in every game, and maybe it was one of those 'caught on camera' moments.

What matters to me is what he does on the pitch, and I challenge anyone to claim he does not give 100% when he pulls on the Red shirt.

We have had plenty of them recently, and I, for one, am much happier with the work-rate and attitude of the entire squad.

  4. I don't want to sound like my typical Crouch Bashing self, but he simply is not physical enough, he is twice the size of some other guys who still dominate him, he seems timid but he is a shy person which needs to change. Also Garcia needs to get more stuck in, along with kewell, since they both seem to pussy out alot, but i have alot of time for them both. Maybe more physical all round will bring more wins.

Crouch is twice the height - not size.

And Garcia is half the size - and gets stuck in.

Also, Kewell seems to be a lot more physical recently.

  5. Jimmy Carter

THE SUB WHO GOT SUBBED HOW SHIT WAS HE !!!!!

Very shit, but surely he wasnt expected to be anything special?

Spot on about Babb - 4.5 mil i think he was

My biggest was probably leonhardsen, in that i was expecting us to bring in a top-drawer midfielder that summer - and knew this lad was shite.

  6. As I said, I'm here to discuss, not have a biased point of view. I think that everybody on this forum can regonise that Chelsea are the best team in England, and of course Roman's money helped. If you can't regonise that, then it's you guys that are the biased ones.

    pull the other one mate

  7. I've had a go at Kromkamp in the diary of the next issue, and I remember people slagging him off on here over it too. However, incidents like that are few and far between from us, and I bet someone at the club (players or coaches) will have told Kromkamp to cut that shit out.

You just know that its encouraged at Chelsea. Thats the difference.

And it was his first start!

What about Momo's dive? The one he got card for. Hope he doesn;t make it a habit. :no

  8. I was. Not referring to Sunday but defending corners in general. See how many free headers the forwards get because nobody is attacking the ball.

Silvestre last season at OT for instance.

To be fair, our zonal marking was in its infancy at that stage.

In fact for those regular match-day goers, i'm sure your realised that when Pellegrino had his 3 league games in succession (blackburn, everton and someone else - i forget) he was literally placing players where they were supposed to be.

That for me was the biggest (probably only) benefit Pellegrino brought to the team.

I think as a general rule, not matter which style of defending; if the set-piece is delivered well, you always have a chance of scoring.

This is one area which we need to improve - Alonso and Gerrard are simply not consistent enough with their delivery. You can see by Sami's lack of goals.

  9. Just in that Shearer's usual finish is to leather it as hard as he can. Because he has far more ability and composure than Cisse, it usually ends in the bottom corner. Travelling REALLY FUCKING FAST. That's how.

    far more ability

    far more composure

far better getting on the end of crosses

far better at working hard for the team

    far less pace

    good comparison

  10. The 'head down and bang' thing has been a little overdone in fairness. It's never hindered Shearer has it? But as you also say, this is down to composure.

I can honestly say that in all the time that Djibs has been here, I can only think of two moments - ironically the run against Blackburn that he got the injury from - and the finish against Everton where he has truly looked as talented as the pre-signing hype suggested he was. There have been other flashes, but nothing that Yukubu or Camara couldn't do.

Shearer would put it bottom corner all day

How the fuck can you compare cisse?

  11. Well, it does hurt because you got there by default. Del Piero scored a good second goal in Anfield and it was disallowed. You didn't score against us but still went through and if I was in Istanbul, I would have left the stadium by half time...

It was a first goal actually!

And default is the reason you're still in existance.

And i believe that you would have left the stadium by half-time, along with the other 3000 or so cockneys that bothered to make the journey.

Now fuck off back to CFC.net

  12. Neither have fulfilled the potential they ahd at 16 - both are older than Rooney and but had a higher global profile than Rooney, Walcott, Torres etc at the same age.

    It's a shame.

    What's a shame?

Pongolle has added value to our squad over the last couple of seasons.

He has helped changed the game on numerous occasions, and will be a part of the squad next season.

Le Tallec has attitude problems. That's the shame!

  13. He's not a better shot-stopper than Reina.

    Is that better?

It seems as though Jerzy's Istanbul heroics have made certain people forget the amount of points he cost us.

He was great in his first season, but so were our defense, so whoever mentioned that Reina has nothing to do with our clean-sheets needs to look at that.

He has been very average in the last 3 years. If it weren't for Kirklands injuries, he would have already been sold.

Reina is a vast improvement. And only 23!

PS - if you watch the final again, you will see at least 3 bad pieces of goalkeeping from Jerzy.

Glad he'll get his Anfield run-out tho - maybe that's why we didn't appeal

  14. Rafa is simply trying to divert attention form his shabby and clueless side. You loose a game and start playing silly jokes? How can that be quality? I thought manager were suppose to talk about tactics and not childish stuff? Reina deserved to be sent off. Short and simple...

Chelsea 6 Liverpool 1 (Aggregate score!) :tease:

    playing silly jokes?

why the fuck are you on here?

    king's road bell-end

  15. That's harsh, his control isn't his strength but he can trap and shield a ball better than many. His will to win and and enthusiasm is certainly stronger than any of our current options bar Robbie.

    Two extremes there.

I think Crouchy can fall into the enthusiastic and will-to-win category.

But let's face it - that was 14 mil down the carsey!

  16. Sell Cisse. I feel he'd have scored a lot of goals for Houllier, but he's just not made enough of an impact under Rafa. I feel Mori will be sold too. We will bring in a top striker who offers a consistent goal threat this summer.

Fowler will hopefully play his way into Rafa's plans as well. Crouch will definitely stay.

My opinion on strikers for next season is that we'll have Crouch, Fowler, New striker, and one of Pongolle/Mellor/Le Tallec to come back.

I see both Pongolle and Mellor coming back.

    Not sure about le Tallec.

    Agreed on Cisse and Moro.

We are improving rapidly and they are just not adding anything ot he team

I think Rafa knows this, and I don't see sentiments getting in the way.

  17. Opinions... whatever, it is not Crouch v Cisse - Both have been average all season.

Rash - you're the only one mentioning Crouch.

The thread was about whether we should keep Cisse or not!

Why don't you post a new thread stating your theories on the Crouch situation (not that we need to know!) and leave it at that.

I'm sure most people are bored stiffless from these sly digs and uninformed garbage you spout out about our 2-metre Peter.
