Jota out for two weeks
Sicknote - time to be ruthless with players who can barely string a run of games together.

He likely won't win it but Ollie Watkins should be the player of the year for me.
19 leagues goals,12 assists with no penalties. Goal/Assist every 93 minutes.
Also Palace got a really good player in Wharton
I've always maintained that penalties should be an extra column to goals. Often skews goalscoring stats - Palmer this season being a prime example

Real Madrid are the luckiest team in existence. They don't need to be that good when they have amount of luck

At full strength they're still a team we should be beating reasonably comfortably.
Would you have been confident of us beating their depleted side tonight? Or anyone in the league for that matter? Basically a few injuries to opponents isn't going to be the difference. If we remember how to play football again we're capable of winning the last six games. If it's the dog shit we've seen against Palace, United and Atalanta we'll finish a dozen points behind City.
at full strength (or close) & at home they have beaten City. Spurs and Chelsea + drawn with Villa & Newcastle so they are no push overs

We dropped five points against United and Palace, both of whom are utter, utter shite. I really can't get too angry at Wolves not getting something against Arsenal.
Wolves didn't stand a chance given how many players they were missing. No doubt they'll have a lot stronger team to pick from when we play them (or City for that matter)

Given who the mancs were missing against us, I don’t think we can complain.Yeah one fucking game. Halle-fucking-lujah oh how lucky we are. I do think more teams these days seem to dealing with injury issues (non moreso than ourselves) but those southern shandy drinking fairy cunts ALWAYS seem to be playing teams when they are in real difficulty. They are having an awful amount of luck on that front. They did well today to beat a Wolves team where 50% of the players nobody has heard of. Even in midweek they played a Bayern team missing several starters - still managed to fuck it up thankfully.

Another Arsenal opponent with an injury crisis. Would be interesting to see how mnay full strength opposition teams they have faced over the last two seasons - I don't think it'll be many.

He got a second yellow, but it seems that the rules mean he doesn't get sent off if one of them is in the shoot out.
Its a stupid rule that
Why give the goalkeeper a free license to act like a twat just send the fucker off and lets see if he's still smiling and acting like a cunt.

bite anyone's hand off for £50m+ in the summer. Hopefully the stupid Saudi's get nearer £100m

On Curtis - he's a very good squad player but shouldn't be anything more

Our forwards are fucking shit, they couldn't finish their fucking dinners the useless, wasteful twats.
Clean sheet is a positive miracle though eh

Arsenal luck with injuries still going strong
No Gbabry or Coeman and a half fit Sane.
Its actually incredible. Its been going on for two years now. Lego head cunt must have a voodoo doll for opposition players

Unfortnately I think it'll be two english wins tonight. A few injuries wouldn't go a miss though.
-
glad Dortmund knocked out those cheating shithouses. neither team will trouble any of the sides from the other side of the draw though
-
tie massively changed with the red card but Barcelona have been poor tonight. Not helped by an obvious bought ref

This is widely entertaining stuff.
Fullkrug is like an elite Sunday League player. Definitely has two cans of Bitburger at half time.
Don't see enough of the old fashioned shit number 9's who just score goals. Luca Toni was a classic example

Gungodan got tripped in the box (was looking for it but he did get tripped) so he got booked and then the ref sent off another barcelona coach

Yeah, but you're assuming Saudi are playing the short game. I was listening to a podcast the other day, which was talking about an ongoing court case in the US to stop league fixtures from other leagues being played there. I think it might actually involve city's mob girona, but I could be wrong about that. Anyway, it seems pretty clear the FIFA rules are what they are and absolutely prevent such a game.
So now FIFA, who were opposed to such a thing before infantino moved and lived in an oil state, are discussing relaxing that rule. So where would that leave us? Forget America, it's just a test case. Saudi are obsessed with trying to control all sport, it would seem to me likely they'd want to get Newcastle games there. Perhaps the same would happen with Abu Dhabi taking city there. Who knows, but it's a door opener. And nobody is standing up to these states. We see it in the most simple matter like our referees going to Abu Dhabi on jollys and it seems only Liverpool fans and one or two journalists raising eyebrows at it.
The game is fucked regardless of if Newcastle spend 500m or not. But they'll want mates in the PL to get games in their country. So they're playing nice.
They've been quite reserved since taking over but they've now had a taste of the CL drug and the exposure it provides. I think the idea was to grow 'organically' but after a good season last year that will probably change and the expectations/demand will now be much higher. I wouldn't rule out another arm of saudi investment looked at other PL clubs and the newcastle owners started their own multi club syndicate. A few big clubs around europe still need bailing out - Valencia a prime example. Lyon another ready for pickings. Its all shite but it seems that is how the game is now going sadly and its fucking shite.
