  1. Has to have been written with the writers tongue in cheek! Excuse's everywhere. And I love this "bad 9 months" rubbish. Someone from Liverworld should give him a free calendar - try a bad 2 1/2 years and counting.
  2. Couldn't give my ticket away. Everyone I spoke to just laughed when I offered it to them. Couldn't agree more with Thompson insanity. Sat near the bench against Southampton this year and couldn't beleive what I was seeing/hearing from him. More of a hinderence than a help to the players - like some demented dad at a junior footy match.
  3. The Arsenal (when he dropped Beardsley) game apart, I can't remember him making changes to the team that didn't work out. Milwall in the cup and putting Burrowns on Gazza worked well and they're the only times I can remember him messing round with the team - although I'm waiting to be corrected!!
  4. These managers with "webs of contacts" throughout Europe never actually deliver. Wenger is the only example of someone who has been successful at picking up near unknowns and turning them into world class talent, most others, like our own manager, makes mistake after mistake with these unproven players. If Kenny came back, why would he need all these contacts anyway. He'd be the manager of LFC, surely any up and coming talent would be offered to us anyway? I think it's more about being a good judge of talent than scouring europe looking for little known players these days, especially at bigger clubs.
  5. Another big plus is that he knows English/British footy inside out, therefore he'll need know "settling in" period that would probably be needed if we opted for a foreign coach (mourihno etc.). Same applies to MON and that's why I'd have both at the top of a managerial wish list at the present time. Don't know about anyone else, but I'm sick of foreign coaches tinkering with tactics and making the game more complex than it actually is. What we need is someone who will bring a bit of stability to the side i.e. someone who knows their best 11, plays the same formation with players in their best positions etc. We need to get back to being a top side in this country before we consider doing anything in Europe again, and a good British based manager (not anyone with a UK passport obviously!) would be the best person to do it.
