The new Don Winslow book 'City on Fire' is excellent, the first part of a trilogy set in Providence in the 1980s focusing on the Irish and Italian mobs. Loads of little nods to the Illiad, Achilles, Helen of Troy etc.

These guys are so good, also, is the cello the most under-rated instrument?

Not a fan of Sting but his first solo album is okay this one is based on "Interview with a Vampire" by Anne Rice.

Fabinho was dreadful. Virgil recovered brilliantly after a bad start.

Knopfler, Allman etc are amazing but Dave Rawlings is so distinctive too.

A lot of debate as to what position he'll play but watching that youtube it's a very similar highlight reel to Keitas Leipzig one before he joined us. Low centre of gravity, beats players through midfield with great balance.

I just finished "Never" by Ken Follett, I was a big fan of his older spy novels like Eye of the Needle but this one is dreadful. It was a recommendation from Stephen King on Twitter, the last 150 or so pages are okay and there is a section set in North Africa which is okay too but mostly 800 pages of embarrassment.

It's amazing the way the crowd start off restless and then silence descends.
