  1. It is not the website linked by me that becomes recruiting material, it is the actions portrayed in it. The website wouldn't have existed if those actions weren't committed.
  2. The Lebanese government doesn't have enough power to force Hizbullah to disarm their militias. Before July 12 disarming Hizbullah has been a major talking point in Lebanese politics and there are a lot of voices who call for disarming Hizbullah inside Lebanon .. within and outside the government .. but how can anyone force them to disarm? They claim to have the right to defend Lebanon and have the support of most shii'a in Lebanon .. if the Lebanese government was to try any means of force to disarm them civil war would have errupted in Lebanon .. we were hoping to get them disarmed through political negotiation but they blew everything up with the kidnapping of the soldiers.
  3. Good morning all. I have read all the posts and I would like to add this: - Israel still occupies Shebaa Farms which both Hizbullah and the Lebanese government consider as part of Lebanon while Israel consider as part of Syria. This, along with the Lebanese prisoners in Israel, has been the justification for Hizbullah's existence after Israel's withdrawal from South Lebanon in May 2000. - The Israeli occupation of Palestine is the root of all the propblems in the Middle East. All Arabs would like nothing more than for Israel to leave the region. However, I don't think this will ever happen. We simply have to find a diplomatic solution once and for all. A million wars we will not solve this conflict. Syria and Iran want war with Israel .. fine .. but why does Lebanon have to pay for this every time? Why don't they fight from Syria and Iran? Why should Lebanon always pay the war bill? .. We DO NOT want to fight this war!
  4. Thank you to all who wished me and my family well .. I hope none of you or yours has to go through such difficulties ever. The bombing by Hizbullah of innocent civilians in North Israel is also not justified and should stop immediately .. I don't take the side of Hizbullah in this war .. most Lebanese people don't .. our country is being used as a proxy battlefield for Iran and Israel while we are foeced to watch helplessly!
  5. That's right .. my support of LFC has triggered interest in everything that has to do with the city of Liverpool and its people .. an OOTer who's trying to learn about the culture before visiting anfield to avoid being accused of spoiling the match atmosphere ;)
  6. Thank you mate .. very much appreciated :)
  7. I live in the west Beirut, not very far away from the southern suburb where the most severe attacks are happening. Our neighborhood has not been targeted - yet ... but we can hear the sound of bombings and aircrafts very clearly, and it only takes 5 minutes by car to get to the southern suburb. My whole life has changed since July 12 .. before that date I was mainly concerned with preparing the financial budget for the new fiscal year (I'm an accountant), planning the summer vacation, and looking for news about new signings by Rafa Benitez ... after July 12 I stopped going towork .. I mainly think about how to get food for the family and fuel for my car (getting those is becoming more and more difficult every day) .. I spend most of the time listening to the latest news to make sure my family and I are not in the wrong place at the wrong time .. survival is all what matters ..
  8. Watch out - Sensetive Pictures ... for those who don't want to see what's happening in Lebanon, don't click on the link below. for those who want to know what really is going on in Lebanon, check this: http://fromisraeltolebanon.info/ Please send this to as many people as possible ... maybe ...just maybe this would help save Lebanese civilians.
  9. Thank you mate. Getting out of the city doesn't guarantee safety because the whole country is being targeted. The safest option now is not to move a lot because the roads are targeted as you can see from the picture below:
  10. I am Lebanese. I just love Liverpool so much and consider myself an honorary scouser ;) British, American, French, Italian and other foreign people are being evacuated .. I think the bombings will escalate after the evacuation process is complete.
  11. The attacks are directed at Lebanon's infrastructure as much as they are directed at Hezbollah. Israel is making sure Lebanon's economy will be down to Earth by the end of this ordeal .. the 220 people killed so far are mostly civilians .. Israel threw leaflets over a village called Marwahin asking the civilainas to leave before it destroys the whole place .. the people of Marwahin started to leave the village only for an Israeli aircraft to attack them on their way out and kill 25 civilians on the road out of the village .. It is true that Israel is attacking Hezbollah, but the Israelis are not sparing civilians .. they kill with very cold blood. The rest of your post I agree with.
  12. I agree with your theory Tom. Religious and ethnic hatred is the source of all evil in this world .. Humans are perhaps the only species that kill each other .. there are no jewish rabbits and muslem rabbits .. just rabbits .. and they all live happily in this world ..
  13. Thnak you and all the others who expressed their support.
  14. For me Hezbollah is a tool used by Iran and Syria to achieve the following: 1. Destroy the infrastructure of Lebanon and weaken our economic strength. 2. Keep the attention of the international commumity away from issues such as Iran's nuclear program. The Lebanese government doesn't want to fight this war. All the Lebanese people apart from Hezbollah do not want to fight this war .. we want peace .. we want to go to the beach, have fun, enjoy the summer .. I want to know who Rafa Benitez will sign not who Hezbollah and Israel will kill .. but alas, it seems our country has become a battlefield for others.
  15. I didn't name you when I said people were laughing/joking.
  16. Thank you for your understanding btw I like TomR .. I read the FF on a regular basis and he always makes me laugh with his comments and style .. but this issue is very sensetive .. innocent people are being killed every day here and in Israel .. this is not funny at all.
  17. My family is here. My job .. my friends .. my whole life .. I can't leave all that and move. I can hear the sound of Israeli aircrafts flying above Beirut while I type this .. electricity could go off any minute now ..
  18. I am Lebanese. I won't leave my country.
  19. if seeing the picture is extremely upsetting ... how would you describe living that picture? then coming here and reading some of the sarcastic comments? .. I didn't want to argue with some of the posters who were treating the whole issue like a joke, so I posted the pictures in the hope that they would see what they are joking about .. obviously it didn't work and the jokes continued .. I understand you live in a completely different world .. but I live in Beirut .. and I don't find this funny at all.
  20. Real Sociedad play against Valencia tonight. That goal was his first one for them.
  21. sounds like a good solution if everyone goes back home .. everyone including the americans and british in iraq, and the israelis who immigrated to palestine from all over the world .. would be nice if everyone just "goes home" and leaves the others in peace .. wouldn't happen though would it? I have a better solution Tom .. hypothetical like yours and would never happen, but a man can dream .. and i dream of a home called planet Earth, with no boundaries or stupid religious conflicts .. dogs don't discriminate against fellow dogs .. why should humans discriminate against fellow humans?
  22. Absolutely right. So many adults here believe in one big conspiracy theory of the west against islam .. anything the west does, even if it was a silly cartoon, has to be perceived as part of this theory .. i grow up hearing stories of western racism yet i come to this forum and read the opinions of liverpool fans condemning racism in football and writing songs for mohammed sissoko and i realize its all a myth, just the same as the myth that all muslems are violent. all we need to do is talk to each other and remove all preconceptions .. we have so many things in common. Some people (mainly the educated) are very well informed, while others are very badly misinformed.
