Strange how the media keep referring to "20 times champions Manchester United" and "Liverpool have never won the Premier League"

The whole club is built on a myriad of myths.
"The biggest club in the world"- based on what evidence?
Most successful - No
Richest - No
Best supported based on attendance - No
Biggest stadium -No
Most hyped and self promoted - yes.

Food banks? What a fucking joke. I know a woman who works in one.
"Got any ale luv, any fangs?". On a daily basis from numerous people. Give your spare money to a deserving charity not the undeserving parasites. No need for food banks in this country and there never will be, not while the "poor" have satellite dishes and mobile phones.
Want and need, check the definition.

09:50 flight tomorrow. My farthest away game and probably my farthest I'll ever get to, been promising my missus a visit to New York and settled on the dates when I saw this fixture. £60 for a friendly though!!!!! robbing bastards.

I bet the percentage is higher than for those who were executed.

I'll be at the game in Yankee Stadium. Anyone know how many tickets we've sold? Can't find any reference on the internet.

The best Liverpool striker I've ever seen. Especially in his early years. More skill and passing ability than Rush and better strike rate. Also didn't have the Rush advantage of playing in the best team in the world and being supplied by King Kenny.

Tonight's game sums up the feelings in the original post.
Why were we charging forward when 3-0 up with 15 minutes left? The game was won.
To win the league on goal difference we would have needed a minimum of another 9 goals in 105 minutes of football. Naïve at best, but irresponsible lunacy is a more apt description.

Suicide. I have sympathy for family and friends but no sympathy for anybody who takes a decision to destroy themselves. No self respect, no respect for the feelings of family and friends. Good riddance.

I would be happy with 75 points next season regardless of where we finish in the league. More games to play/we won't have the top two goalscorers again/Chelsea' Man U, City, Arsenal will all buy big.

The main criticism in the article is that we are poor defending and the manager doesn't seem able to address that problem. That's true. If the league table was drawn up on attempts on goal by opponents we would be in the bottom half with an average of 13 attempts per game on our goal.

If we win the league I think Gerrard willl get the sports writer award
Surely not. Don't they know how "tactically naive" he is?

Never bases judgement on one season.
Writes off player in his first season.
Kwalitee
He had 4 or 5 seasons in Spain achieving nothing and one good one.

A lot of those shots on our goal are from distance. We create better opportunities than the opposition, and more of them, hence we win most of our games. The defending has been abject at times but that's another story.

More than average?, I don't know. I think we have rode our luck big time this season good as it's been but I'm reserving judgement on the arrival of the messiah until he does it twice. Mike Walker, Villas Boas?

It's been a great season, but is it a one off?
Has any team in the history of the English league had the two top scorers in a season in their team, and can those two continue it next season?
We've conceded loads of chances in games to the opposition that weren't converted, I read recently that we've had more shots on our goal than any team apart from Palace. That's poor defending that we've luckily got away with.
I never base a judgement on one season, whether it's a player or a team. Look at Aspas, voted in the La Ligue team of the year last season but done nothing previously or since - a one season wonder.
If we get 75 points or more next season I'll think Rodgers is the man even if we win nothing, until then the jury is out.

Damn, never knew about the Lizarazu stuff. Loved him a player.
Never mind him. At the same time Evans decided not to make a bid for...Roberto Carlos. I kid you not.

He's spent £100m on 15 players and hopes to be 2 places above where we finished before he took the job and then sign more players in January. Where's the massive improvement he keeps banging on about?

"we have to make sure we stay up in that top six in the league and keep fighting and hopefully we can reinforce in January".
He thinks he's still manager of Swansea.

Still think Borini will be a good striker, probably not for us though.
Doubt if he'd accept the wages on offer in the Conference.

Why do you think that England doesn't produce players with the technical ability of Gascoigne and Waddle anymore?
It seems very strange to me. Where have these types of players gone?
Too many Prozone players. Managers are signing players based on how far they run, how many crosses they put in etc and are picking their teams based on these stats. Premier League teams have too many players who create no danger to the opposition. They should be asking can he control the ball and retain it under pressure. The current England squad is the worst I can remember by a long long way.

Dykes comments don't stack up. English clubs won the European Cup 6 times in succession from 1977 to 1982 while England failed to qualify for a World Cup in 1974 and 1978. It goes in cycles, Bloemfontaine was the blueprint in 1990's, where are the French now? Spain have got lucky just like Man Utd in the late 1990's as have Germany now.

The Middle East and Africa complain about Western intervention in their countries, yet when they start slaughtering each other the rest of those regions stand back and expect the West to restore order.
