Good things comes to those who wait.

You will soon be back on the Xabi train Dave, Im certain of it.

Its Klopp stepping down early that put the spanner in the works here, not Xabi having the integrity to continue at least one more year at Leverkusen.

If Klopp stepped down next season, this would never be an issue.

This time next year we'd be convincing ourselves he was coming and then he'd fuck off to Real Madrid.

  2. Also, I've seen a different angle of the second Chelsea pen and I've changed my mind. Soft as fuck, slightly more of a pen than the first one but there's virtually no contact. In the refs defence it looks like contact from where he is, plus you just assume the player who has a free run on goal isn't going to dive, but it turns out he did.

Tell you what though, after those two pens given against them in midweek, Anthony Taylor is not giving us one even if Maguire takes a baseball bat to one of our lads.

Agree with you about Gibbs-White, excellent little player. When they're not playing against us, I also like to watch Bowen and Paqueta (soooo glad City didn't get him), and that Semenyo lad at Bournemouth has looked pretty nifty at times. Ait-Nouri is close to being on that list. Everyone else in the PL (apart from the ex-LFC lads) is a complete cunt.

I also like watching all of those you mentioned, I was going to mention Semenyo this week as he always seems to do something in any game I see him in.

None of those get 'my boy' status though. Not yet, but Gibbs-White is on the stand by list.

I think they may have seen us do it once. Add that to the Allez song and the fist bumps. Fucking weirdos.

And the Saka song they stole from us (our Sadio one which has been adapted for Endo too).

Shameless fucking pricks, they'll be singing YNWA next.

Maybe the only point of interest from Brentford Brighton was that cunt Michael Oliver on VAR  sent Andy Madley to look at a possible penalty incident ….. and Madley stuck with his onfield decision. Oliver won’t like that, the jumped up little egomaniac.

Yeah I was going to mention that, but there was a lot more to it than it first appeared and I couldn't be arsed going into it all.

The podcast was great as usual by the way.  I think I’m just more inclined to discuss the bits I disagree with.  I feel exactly the same on all the stuff about the management situation.  The 3 at the back stuff is such a massive red flag.  It won’t suit us at all and not a lot of managers do it so if does go wrong we are 100% more likely to then follow it up with a manager who doesn’t do it and we could end up like United fairly quickly.  It’s reaching the point for me where I think they need to go back to Lijnders

Agree with that, I'd rather give Lijnders a year to see how he goes but clearly that's never been on the table so I've not really mentioned it on the pod as it feels futile.

In terms of the Trent stuff you mentioned in the previous post, there's definitely elements of truth in that, I just think you took it to extremes in your first post and that you're going too far with some of it. For example, his attitude hasn't stunk all season but I would agree that at times it hasn't looked great and some of that 'square on' defending he's done is just lazy. Bradley never does that.

If his attitude was as bad as you're saying though then Klopp would have dropped him, which he never has. He's going to play, even though lots of fans feel that he shouldn't. Does he deserve to replace Bradley? Probably not. Does he deserve to walk straight into a midfield spot? No.

Is he too good to keep on the bench? Yep.

If I remember right Martinez didn't pull a sickie against City the other year.

Gerrard gave him a day off as he was playing on the Wednesday for Argentina in that final between the Copa America winners and Euros winners.

There was a bit of noise before the game about it. That decision and the one to hook Coutinho at 2-0 when he was flying cost us big time that day.

That can't be right, surely? Gerrard giving his keeper the day off and playing some bum who flopped at Everton in a game that could have won us the title? If that is true he should never be allowed anywhere near Anfield again.

Just had a look at the SU forums. The cheeky sweaty little meff cunts are crying that Van Dijk should have been carded for violent conduct for this. Try a deliberate attempt to end Konate’s career, you fucking little knobheads. Fuck off to The Championship and don’t come back.

I knew nothing about that until I saw the clip on twitter tonight. It is weird like, Virgil just grabs his throat and throws him to the floor, but there's no context as to what happened just before it. I imagine he just got fed up being grabbed on every set-piece.

I was getting loads of shit the other week for suggesting that Trent might not get picked for a cup final but this is what I was talking about.

I agree that Klopp will find a way because he’s too good not to be playing but it’s a pretty big dilemma about how you do it.

I agree it's a dilemma and I'm glad I don't have to pick the team.

He would get picked for a cup final though.

It goes against my "do we know if Branthwaite is even good" take, because there are similar concerns about playing for a shite team who defend deep and don't pass it short, but I think Murillo would be a big target if Amorim came.

Not noticed his defending much so I'm not advocating we sign him, but he does some spectacular shit rampaging forward and he's fun to watch.

I don't know whether any of you said that, but the poster objecting to him coming back in for ANY of the midfield was rightly pushed back on. Fuck that. Endo's been amazing and Macca is now a contender for our player of the season.

All three of us on the pod said Macca and Endo are automatic choices so Trent would have to compete with the others for playing time in the other spot, assuming he's not in the team at right back.

I don't disagree with anything that's been said about it in this thread other than in the first reply which was completely over the top, specifically the bits I picked out and quoted.

None of us think he should just walk back in and take Bradley's place or be guaranteed a midfield spot, but I think we all think he's too good to not be playing and we all think Klopp is going to put him back in there.  Fitness permitting Trent will be on the pitch far more than he isn't in this run in.

  12. "shocking for most of the season"

"potential to derail the title run in"

"makes Rashford look like Dirk Kuyt"

It's either absolute nonsense or wildly exaggerated.

All three of us said he shouldn't just come in at the expense of Bradley and that it's a big dilemma for Klopp what to do with him, but none of that makes any of the above true. I mean, we were top or thereabouts when he was playing.

I don't know where he's going to play but I'm pretty sure Trent isn't spending the rest of the season on the bench.

Well we did rate him, but there's every chance Hughes has other ways of looking at data. It's likely he won't do much in time to change this summer, but I don't think it's a lock in who was near the top of the list before still is. And of course they have another years data on colwill.

I just don't think he's stood out and he's going to cost vvd type money to get him. I think that's too much and I've no real desire to bail Chelsea out of their ffp hell.

Branthwaite over Colwill all day, for multiple reasons, including what you mentioned above. Branthwaite has been much better this season, plus Colwill turned us down once so I wouldn't go back for him. I also like the idea of taking Everton's best player because they aren't in a position to say no.
