  1. Sunday May 2: Well at least we didn’t lose. The game getting called off didn’t bother me too much as it was nice to not have to watch it, but we really should be awarded the points for that as it’s a fucking farce. They couldn’t fulfil the fixture because their fans invaded the stadium (or were allowed in by club staff, depending on which account you believe). Sorry, that’s a forfeit and we should be awarded the points. Anything else is unacceptable, but Sky aren’t going to have that and we all know they call the shots. Bizarrely, I’ve seen a lot of “good on them” and “this goes beyond rivalry, we should stick together” type sentiments from Reds over this. I’ll simply say FUCK. THAT. How come these fucking scrotes are being hailed as some kind of noble warriors fighting for better rights for football fans across the nation? It’s mad, I don’t get it. Am I missing something here because I just don’t see it. They aren’t fighting for fans rights, they aren’t leading some movement against leveraged buyouts or demanding reform of the ‘fit and proper owners’ guidelines. They don’t give a fuck about leveraged buyouts other than the one the Glazers did. They don’t care about ‘fit and proper’ owners just as long as they have one. So spare me the ‘we need to stand together’ bullshit because when we were fighting Gillett and Hicks what were they doing? Waving American flags and chanting USA from the away end at Anfield, that’s what. The Glazers have been there donkeys years and for most of that period the majority of their fans tolerated it because they were winning. They had a home game a couple of days ago so where was this protest then? Half of these cunts didn’t even know why they protesting. Some of the ones I saw interviewed were going on about the fucking Super League. Y’know, the Super League that isn’t happening. There is no fucking way United fans did what they did today because the Glazers wanted to be part of a European Super League. Not a fucking chance. In fact, had the Super League idea gained traction and the Glazers had said they wanted no part of it, Old Trafford would have been filled with the very same mutants today kicking off about that. Look at the footage of it. Look at the faces of those inside that stadium. As if they are there because of the Super League. Come on! They have every right to want the Glazers out because the Glazers pulled a Gillett & Hicks and bought the club with a loan that the club are now paying off. They’re paying a shitload of money every year just for the pleasure of being owned by the Glazers, so yeah you wouldn’t be happy about that. But…. It’s the world’s smallest violin playing just for the mancs and their ‘plight’. The Glazers have taken a billion quid out of United apparently. Obviously you wouldn’t be happy about that as a fan but it’s not that straightforward. United’s revenues are up massively because of the marketing and sponsorship deals the Glazers have brought in and they would therefore argue that they’re entitled to take their cut. Their cut is wildly excessive but it hasn’t stopped them spending more money on players than ANY OTHER CLUB IN THE WORLD. You can go on all you want about how it’s about time fans stood up and said enough is enough and that change will only happen when drastic action is taken. Talk about fan solidarity all you like and tell us how we should back United fans in their fight against greedy owners. I can sort of see some logic in it (but not much) but my instinctive reaction is to once again channel my inner Mr Pink and say… The Glazers have been there 16 years and - other than a hard core minority - United fans have had zero appetite for getting them out. You know why they are protesting now? Because City are winning loads and because we have a title and a CL in the last few years. It’s that simple. The Glazers are doing nothing different now than they have done for 16 years. In fact, they're spending more than they ever have. The only thing that has changed is they aren’t winning titles now and have had to watch us and City hoovering up big prizes. That’s what today was about. It wasn’t a ‘protest’ it was a fucking hissy fit because they aren’t top dogs anymore. Those who protested back in the beginning, fair play to them. The rest of these bandwagon dickheads can fuck off though. You know what most of these Man United fans want? They want their own Sheikh Mansour. They want to be bankrolled by someone who will massively outspend City. They might try and pretend otherwise, but that’s what most of those cunts on the pitch today want and if it happens they’d be insufferable in their gloating about their spending power. I genuinely can’t get over the sympathy they are being given in some quarters. Newsflash: They are second in the league with the highest wage bill in the country and they’ve spent more than anyone else in the last few years. They broke the world transfer record to re-sign a player that had left them for nothing and they paid £80m for Harry fucking Maguire. In a few weeks time they’ll be playing in a European final and will no doubt spend big again this summer. So fucking spare me this “the Glazers are ruining United” nonsense. I know full well what the Glazers are. I also know that these are first world problems that United fans are bitching about. They aren’t Newcastle. Or Blackburn. Or Sunderland. Or Portsmouth. Or Bolton. Or Bury. The absolute fucking gall of these entitled arrogant cunts making out they’re being so hard done to. They’ve spent over a billion quid on players in the last decade. You know what their problem is? They want to be able to spend TWO billion. Maybe all those supporting their protest and saying ‘good for them’ need to be careful what they wish for, because the Glazers are the only thing standing between United making Man City’s spending looking like FSG are controlling their purse strings. So I can’t stress this strongly enough. Fuck them. I’d rather set fire to my own face than back those cunts. Monday May 3: Heard a Red from a well known fan media group on the radio today saying “we sympathise” with United fans and that “they have good reason to want their owners out”. I’m sick of this shit now. I’m seeing it all over twitter too. Reds being all magnanimous and taking the moral high ground by backing United fans. Fuck that shit. So many are racing to try and reach the top of Mount Righteous but I’m more than happy with my place in Tribal Valley. People have lost their fucking minds. Showing solidarity with the same fucking rats who sing “the Sun was right” and holding up “Vote Boris” pictures with “Self Pity City” on it. Even the cunts on the pitch yesterday were chanting about scousers. And don’t tell me “it’s just a minority”. Is it fuck. It’s usually the entire away end and when it’s at Old Trafford it’s tens of thousands of them. All these Reds going out of their way to publicly support their ‘cause’ is making me sick. And now it appears we’re allowing them to rearrange the game at their convenience, possibly even to a time when they’ll be allowed to have fans in. So just to recap here. They invade their own stadium, fight with police, run riot inside the ground damaging the pitch and TV equipment, break into Covid safe areas, cause the game to be postponed and as a result of that they get to rearrange the game so they can actually come in and watch?? Fuck this shit. I’m livid. If LFC agree to this they’re fucking pathetic. Imagine them fucking bellends singing their anti-scouse songs all game while our lads no doubt shit the bed like they do every fucking time they go there. It’s quite fitting though I suppose. The fly on the top of the turd that this season has been. All those Reds backing what happened yesterday and wanting to stand shoulder to shoulder with these fucking twats, maybe think about that when you’re listening to the fucking shit they’ll be singing when this game is played. I want them to go under. To go out of existence. If that happened I’d celebrate so fucking hard it’d probably kill me. But I’d die happy. Tuesday May 4: Just caught up on this yesterday from Simon Jordan on Talksport…. “Gary Neville is a barrack-room lawyer who sits on PFA panels, who says salary caps are something football needs to have, while behind the scenes he’s talking about the fact the PFA should never allow salary caps to try and control football finances. “The centre of all of this is money, and the irony of this is Manchester United fans will say it’s not about money, but they’re making it about money because the Glazers are taking money out of the club. “The hypocrisy of the argument that ‘football isn’t all about money’ while you make it all about money, because it’s all about how the Glazers are taking money. “There is a selfish nature in football and it pervades football full-stop. The Premier League, despite the promotion and relegation system, has decimated English football – 90 per cent of TV revenues go into the Premier League and the other ten per cent is left for the rest. “Neville sits there advocating independent regulation – why? Because he’s one of the intellectual capitals behind independent regulation with David Bernstein and he wants a seat at the top table. “The hypocrisy of his ownership of Salford when he got a billionaire owner in there who is funding Salford who are, to my mind, losing money left right and centre, who probably breached financial fair play, and all of this is being utilised by Gary Neville to advise a soap box wrapped in hypocrisy. “Yes, these owners and the ownership models in football right now are flawed, but why are they flawed? Why has it got to his point? Because of the greed across the board in football and the hypocrisy embodied by people like Gary Neville.” Holy shit that’s amazing. That’s even better than his Ryan Fraser rant last season. Round of applause for that man, absolutely nailed it. You know what’s worse than the proposed Super League and the behaviour of those United fans at the weekend? Hearing Gary Neville soapboxing about it. Fuck that little rat. I’m muting the twat now. Not gonna watch when he’s a pundit and I’ll mute if he’s doing commentary. Ideally I will be able to live the rest of my life without ever having to listen to a Gary Neville opinion on anything. Imagine that. Bliss. I’m still seething about all this shite though you know. Each day I feel even more strongly about it. I’m so sick of seeing Reds doing this “be the bigger person” thing and thinking that backing them is the right thing to do. It fucking isn’t. I suspect a lot of it is down to this naive thinking that we might be on the cusp of some sort of football fan revolution where we can take back our game and fuck all the billionaire owners off. I’m telling you now, there is zero percent chance of this happening and the most likely scenario here is that the only club who will benefit from it will be United if the Glazers sell up to China or the Saudi or some other cunts who will just bankroll moves for Mbappe, Haaland and whoever else they want. The bottom line is the rich always get their own way. Always. That’s how it’s always been and how it always will be. Unless they’re up against someone even richer. Like PSG losing to City tonight. It’s happening isn’t it? They're going to win a competition they had been banned from. Hopefully there's enough medals left for the players after the lawyers have been given theirs. Wednesday May 5: That video of the manc screaming abuse at Souness and Carragher. Jesus Christ. Carra actually went to bat for them too, even after that. Personally I’m far more on board with Souey’s stance of “shut up you crying, entitled cunts”. The best bit of that video is how the manc completely loses his shit because of the contemptuous sneer Souness gave him. It immediately went from “scouse cunt” to “ARROGANT SCOUSE CUNT” as Souey got right under his skin. Meanwhile, SOS had a meeting with Billy Hogan yesterday (and they didn’t need to smash up Anfield to get it). They want fan representation on the board and for FSG to pay any potential fines for the failed ESL thing out of their own pockets and not with club funds. Both fair enough I’d say. Tell you what though, being the fan on the board has to be the worst job in the world. Imagine the grief you’d be getting, especially at our club where you have a ‘legacy fan’ v …. actually what did they call the newer fan? I can’t remember so I’ll just call them ‘fifa virgins’. Being the fan on our board would be an absolute nightmare so if that happens good luck to whoever it is. The United game has been rearranged for the 13th May which means we play them on the Thursday and then West Brom on the Sunday. United play three times in five days but the middle one is against Leicester so you know that’ll be the ressies getting a run out as they get everyone rested up to face us. I’d be fuming about this if I thought there was even the tiniest chance that we could catch Leicester, but we’re shite and probably won’t even catch West Ham, so this news was met with a shrug from me and no more. It doesn’t really matter and I’m not going to moan about whatever team Solskjaer picks as we only have ourselves to blame for this. Be funny if they kick off and cause it to be called off again though as surely we’d have to be awarded the points then. If it does go ahead it’ll be good practice for next year as we’ll be doing a lot of the ol’ Thursday / Sunday thing. So every cloud and that. Meanwhile, Chelsea comfortably beat Madrid to reach the final. And now they’re the only thing standing between City and a European title. So, *deep breath* One man went to mow, went to mow a meadow, one man on his dog, went to mow a meadow. Two men went to mow, went to mow a meadow….. *ten minutes later* Supporting Chelsea is a last resort but that’s where we’re at. City are the last club on Earth I want winning a European Cup. They weren’t even meant to be in it in the first place. The only reason they are even playing is because they can afford better lawyers than UEFA. No team has ever deserved success less than these cunts but it feels like we’re the only ones saying it as nobody else seems to be arsed. I see Madrid fans aren’t happy with Hazard who was laughing and joking with his old team-mates at full time. I don’t blame them for being pissed off as I would be too. He’s been a fucking flop but the lack of self awareness to be doing that on the pitch, in front of cameras, is staggering. One TV presenter went on a massive rant about it and said “Hazard has spent two years taking the piss out of Madrid. Two years. Kilos overweight. Unable to beat any defender. Many of you are saying, another Bale?" Another Bale? The same Bale who won you two Champions League finals? Fuck me, I don’t like Gareth Bale but the lack of respect he gets from Madrid is staggering. Being the most arrogant club in a world that contains Manchester United is some going. Thursday May 6: Arsenal had the chance to reach the Europa League Final tonight. All they needed was a 1-0 win at home to Villarreal but they served up a damp squib 0-0 in which it looked like they weren’t even trying to score. No urgency, no effort, no emotion. They’re a fucking disgrace. I’m glad they’re out because they had no chance of beating the mancs in the final. I don’t give the Spaniards much chance either but at least they aren’t Arsenal. Hey guess what? Chelsea are being linked with…. wait for it….. Mo Salah. Get the fuck outta here. I don’t know what’s going to happen with Mo and whether we’ll give him the contract he wants, but one thing I’d be fairly confident in stating is that he isn’t going back to Chelsea under any circumstances. For one thing, they don’t need him. Why would they splash out on massive wages for him when they’ve got more forwards than they know what to do with? Their strategy seems to be to buy up as many boss players as they can aged 24 and under so why would they move away from that to sign Mo? And why would we allow it to happen? The suggestion is we want to move him on to finance a move for Sancho. That might be true (although I doubt it), but selling him to Chelsea? If they do that, heads should fucking roll. The more likely scenario here is that Chelsea just go and sign Sancho and we’ll be once again shopping at ASDA, or more likely buying Neto. Friday May 7: Loads of content around today about the 4-0 Barca game. Turns out it’s the anniversary of it today. I didn't know, but my instinctive response when I saw all that today was to roll my eyes and cringe a little. It reminded me of how we’d be bombarded with Istanbul stuff on May 25th for years and years afterwards and the more shit we were the bigger the Istanbul obsession became. This is probably just me, and I’m not judging anyone who posted stuff about it or who enjoyed reading it. There’s nothing wrong with it, I just don’t like seeing it when we’re shite. It’s fine when we’re doing well, but when we’re shite it just feels lame as fuck to me. I want no part of it. It’s like “yeah we’re shit now, but how good was this?”. If we were doing well now I’d lap up this Barca stuff today, but it’s hard to explain. All those years when we were fucking rubbish and then Istanbul Day came around, it didn’t make me want to relive it and celebrate, it just pissed me off that we were a million miles away from it and that’s how I feel today. I worry that we’ll be back in the pack, winning fuck all and then every year when May 7 comes around it’ll be “CORNER TAKEN QUICKLY ORIGI!!!”. This season better be a fucking one off. In the PL tonight, Leicester were beaten 4-2 at home by Newcastle which in theory is good for us. It’s not though is it, because there’s absolutely no chance that we win our last five games, and that’s what it would take. Especially since the little fucking goblin basically said today he’ll be resting everyone when they play Leicester so he can play his best team against us. He didn’t say it in so many words, but the implication was clear. I’m not even mad. He can field whatever team he likes as we only have ourselves to blame. Win just two of the six home games we lost on the spin and we aren’t in this mess. Don’t give up late goals in our last two games and we’re in a much healthier situation. Be mad at that, not at Solskjaer playing the hand he’s been dealt. The pathetic situation we’re in right now is of our own making. There are legitimate excuses for not challenging for the title. There is no excuse for us being below Spurs (who have been so dire they sacked their manager) and West Ham. If we win our games in hand we’ll be just three points back of Leicester. We won’t though, will we? We have five games left and there is more chance we win none of them than there is that we win all five. Still, on the bright side there is only five games left and the misery is finally over. …. and that was the week that was.

  2. Not too many more of these to go thankfully. Don’t know how many of you are even still reading and I’m not offended if you’ve given up. I’m just limping along until this thing is over and we can try to forget it ever happened. There’s so much to hate about this season even if you completely take LFC out of the equation. I’ve mentioned before about how I can’t stand seeing teams walking out into empty stadiums and that was brought home again this weekend when I saw City and Palace walking out at Selhurst. Comparing that with how it’s meant to be was just fucking grim. Usually there’d be the cheerleaders forming a guard of honour for the teams to come out, confetti flying everywhere, “Glad All over” blasting out and noise levels through the fucking roof, especially from that crew in the corner behind the goal. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but the point is Selhurst Park is usually bouncing. And here it is now, players walking out to nothing and the camera zooming in on Ederson’s ugly fucking gob. This season in a nutshell that. Of course City won but no-one cares any more. It was mentioned on commentary that Van Aanholt is out of contract this summer. Back up for Robbo maybe? He’s got his limitations (can’t defend being the obvious one!) but given that Tsimikas must be shite because Klopp definitely doesn’t trust him, that might be a way of bringing in a few quid while getting a bit better. Just thinking aloud really, and I’m biased here because Van Aanholt has always come across as a top lad based on things I’ve seen from him in interviews and on twitter. Also mentioned on commentary “Ray Lewington, never stops talking, great football man” said Jonathon Pearce. You know how you get people to think you’re a “great football man”? Wear footy boots and a pair of shorts with your initials on no matter what the weather is like. You can blag your way through anything if you do that. It’s like in the NFL when someone is described as “a good football guy” it generally means he has a thick moustache, a firm handshake and he likes to give ‘the Lord’ the credit for anything that goes well. Anyway, moving on. Brighton took a huge step towards safety with a well deserved 2-0 win over Leeds. They played as they have for most of the season. Nice football, very well coached, defensively organised, only this time they bagged a couple of goals and three points. They should have scored six but their finishing is as bad as ours. They took the lead with a Pascal Gross penalty but that was an awful decision I thought. MOTD didn’t make anything of it and Lineker even asked Shearer and Richards “why do defenders do that?”. Do what? All the defender did was fall over. Welbeck stuck his foot underneath the lad and then tumbled over. The defender didn’t actually do anything. VAR had a look and upheld the awful decision. Pathetic. Welbeck made the result safe with a brilliant goal. His 5th of the season. See, that’s the problem with him. Always has been. He can score a goal like that which makes you think “wow, this lad can play” but at the end of the season you look and he’s scored half a dozen goals in 40 games. His whole career has been that. He should have treble the amount of goals he has. With Brighton winning it left Fulham dangling on the precipice. They lost at Chelsea and are now nine points from safety. So in other words, they’re down. They’d only ever won at Stamford Bridge once in their entire history so they were never getting anything from this game, especially as - West Brom result aside - Chelsea have been really good since Tuchel arrived. This was always going to be the danger. They had such a great squad that Lampard was basically acting as a handicap to keep them in the pack. If they’d started the season with Tuchel they’d be challenging City. They’ve already beaten them in the FA Cup and hopefully they’ll do the same in the Champions League. I feel unclean saying that but needs must. Other than the fans there’s not much to dislike about Chelsea currently. There isn’t one player there who jumps out as being a twat. Remember when their entire team was full of them? Now they’re a fairly inoffensive bunch. Sure, Tuchel looks like a paedo but if I’m being entirely truthful here it wouldn’t matter if Chelsea were managed by Jimmy Saville and captained by Gary Glitter, I’d still want them to beat Man City. Still, a Chelsea / City final is just about the worst thing that could have happened other than an all Manc final obviously. This season is just one nightmare after another. At least Everton are still shit though. Despite appointing a proven world class manager, spending a truckload of cash the last couple of years and running up huge debts in the process, they’re no better than they were before. Their home form is rivalling ours its been so bad. They seem to lose every time they play at Goodison and their latest loss was to a Villa side still without Grealish. What’s up with him? He was back in training before they played us but still isn’t back. That Holgate tit was caught in possession by Watkins for the opener. He’s been a great signing and the best thing about him is he always looks so fucking hungry for goals. He’s just a real livewire and must be a pain in the arse to play against. He’s a pest, a bit like Vardy albeit he’s a different type of player. The Blues levelled through Dominic Calvert-Lewin. You might remember him. He won the Golden Boot at the same time Everton won the title back in September. Simple header at the back post and that was dreadful from Villa’s perspective. Barkley’s marking was shameful and I don’t know what the keeper was doing there either. Making himself look small, Brad Jones style. Villa created loads of chances and finally took one when El Ghazi bent one in from the edge of the box to win it with ten minutes to go. I see Richarlison hasn’t scored for two months. Him regularly being picked by Brazil bothers me massively and just makes me want Brazil to lose, even though we’ve got three lads in their squad too. It offends me because they should be better than that. Someone like him shouldn’t be getting games for Brazil but then this is what they do. It’s a Brazilian tradition that there’s always some chump in their squad who nobody thinks should be anywhere near it. It’s like they do it for a bet. Maybe it started because they were so much better than everyone else and wanted to make it more interesting? They need to fuck it off now though because they aren’t that good anymore. Usually these puddings up front have a traditional British name like Jo or Fred, so I think the only satisfactory compromise here is if Richarlison changes his name to Bert or Alf just to avoid any confusion and ensure everyone knows exactly why he is in the squad. Or he could just call himself “Cunt” as that’s what everyone else calls him. Leicester failed to take advantage of the latest in a long line of refereeing howlers as they were held to a draw by ten man Southampton. Vestergaard was red carded after just ten minutes when he took a bad touch and then had to stretch to get the ball away from Vardy. He got the ball and caught Vardy on the ankle with the follow through. A painful one for sure, but a red card? Fuck off. Apparently the red was for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity rather than serious foul play. It would have been less ridiculous if they had said it was for the latter, as not even Vardy was catching that ball before it reached the keeper. Predictably, it has since been overturned which again makes a mockery of this whole system. If you’re having to overturn decisions that have already been made by officials looking at video replays then something is fucked. That being said, Southampton’s centre backs are absolutely shite though and it’s therefore no surprise that things like this keep happening to them. Bet they keep a clean sheet against us this weekend though. Nailed on. Ward-Prowse gave the ten men the lead from the spot after that Iheanacho cunt had handled. No debating that, absolute stonewall pen, although I’d be saying that even if it hadn’t hit him at all as I despise the twat. Evans equalised but this was two points dropped by Leicester and it feels like Vardy hasn’t scored for about six months now. In theory Leicester not winning is good for us as mathematically we can still catch them. It’s defo not happening though so I’d rather they got their act together and went and got second place ahead of the Mancs. Meanwhile, Gareth Bale’s pre-season preparations for the Euros continued to progress nicely as he slotted a hat-trick against relegated Sheffield United. Fucking brilliant finishes too. His celebrations haven't imp[roved while he's been away though. Annoying twat. Speaking of which, Son made it 4-0 with a cracker of his own. Spurs look like they’re enjoying themselves post-Mourinho. Dele Alli has been out of the picture so long that he’s grown dreadlocks and looks completely unrecognisable now. The last time I saw him he had short hair and now he’s sporting a 2019 Origi. He’s literally like a new signing. The Blades have only scored 18 goals all season. The record low is 20 and they’re definitely threatening that. Still no goal for Brewster who must be stressed out to fuck as this season has brought him crashing down to earth with a huge bump. It must be incredibly difficult for him to deal with this as he’s scored goals his whole life and has been told from a young age he’d be a superstar. Now reality is biting hard. Newcastle lost at home to Arsenal but they’re more or less safe anyway so it didn’t matter. Elneny and Aubamayeng got the goals and Schar was sent off for a bad tackle. Bad enough for a red card? No, but when Mike Dean is the one wielding the cards this goes with the territory. Onto Monday now and West Brom took another step towards the Championship by failing to beat Wolves in the Black Country derby. Can we even call it a derby when there aren’t any fans there? I don’t think we can you know. It’s just another game when there’s no crowd. Fans make derby games. There was no more intensity to this game than there would have been if Wolves were playing Southampton or if West Brom were facing Spurs. Footy without fans is shit and derby games without fans are even worse. Fabio Silva gave Wolves the lead with a scabby deflected effort but Diang headed in the equaliser. The Baggies need to win all four remaining games and then need a miracle. One of those games is against us. If we lose that one then everybody needs to be sacked. Finally, West Ham’s top four hopes are still alive after a gritty win at Turf Moor. Chris Wood won and converted a pen to give the Clarets an early advantage but two goals from Antonio won it for the Hammers. You know what would be funny? If they overhauled Chelsea and got fourth, only for Chelsea to win the CL and Arsenal win the Europa League. That would leave Moyes holding his own cock in the Europa League and their tory cunt owners counting all the lost millions. Actually no, I take it back. Any scenario that sees those fucking losers Arsenal back door their way into the Champions League is not the least bit funny. I’d rather see United lifting the trophy than those fucking losers spawn their way into the Champions League. But given how everything has gone this season I think it’s nailed on that City are winning the Champions League and Arsenal are going to do their wedding crashers act like they did with the Super League.

  3. Sunday Apr 18: What the fuck? This Super League stuff is mental. Where did it come from? Usually when something like this happens (not that there’s been anything like THIS, but you know what I mean) there’s at least some sort of rumours and whispers beforehand. This was just BOOM, “we’re joining a super league. There’s a dozen of us and we’re trying to get three more. As you were.” Of course it’s been mooted for a while and there have been reports about talks taking place, but no-one actually thought THIS was going to happen and this announcement came right out of the blue. Something was amiss about it. It’s like they rushed it through without having it properly prepared. In fact, it’s almost as though the plans were still at the draft stage because there was no way in a million years this was going to get anyone on side and I can’t believe all of these owners were stupid and arrogant enough to think it would get a good response. The idea itself of a breakaway Champions League doesn’t bother me that much as anything that cuts those corrupt fuckers UEFA out of the picture is fine by me, but the format of this is a joke and was never going to get backing from anyone. No relegation, only five ‘invitational spots’ each season, Spurs and Arsenal getting a guaranteed spot?!?! This just looks like it was drawn up by a bunch of kids, or… actually yeah, American ‘Sports Franchise’ owners. It sort of makes sense when you look at the people who came up with it. Barca and Real are in the CL every season without fail (Juve too) so the ‘no relegation’ thing won’t have even been a consideration for them as unlike the rest they pretty much do have a divine right to be in it anyway. When was the last time either of them weren’t in it? They take their spot for granted and justifiably so I guess. It’s the American owners who will have been rubbing their hands at the guaranteed spot because that’s what they’re used to. US sports are so fucked up with the lack of relegation, rewarding teams for being absolutely fucking shit and owners just raking in cash regardless of how terribly run their ‘franchises’ are. Believe me, I know, because the teams I follow in US Sports are a laughing stock and haven’t been serious about winning since Michael Jordan and the Fridge left town. Nothing would suit FSG, Kroenke and the Glazers more than to have a closed shop league where the money is distributed equally among the chosen few because that’s what they’re used to. It goes against everything we stand for though. By we, I mean the rest of the world. Sporting competitions basically everywhere else don’t run like that and in Europe it’s seen as abhorrent. Leicester have won the league more recently than Spurs and Arsenal (United too) and they are currently third. But they don’t get in because…. I’m not actually sure. I think it’s because they are regarded as not having as many fans, or they have a smaller stadium or something. I don’t really know. But do Spurs have a huge worldwide fanbase? The point is, you can’t set up a breakaway league with guaranteed spots for 15 teams no matter how shit they perform. I’m amazed that those involved even thought for a second they could push it through in this format but I’m more amazed at how the announcement was just sort of rushed out there. That’s not how these things are usually done. There’d usually be press briefings beforehand about how shit UEFA are and about how the big clubs are ‘concerned’. It’d be so easy to drum up hatred against UEFA and support for a breakaway league if it was done right, but they didn’t do that. You’d also have expected some big fancy presentation as to what the aims of the new league are and why it would be good for the game. There was none of that either. It almost feels like they weren’t ready to go public with this but then that loon Perez started running his mouth and the others then had to show their hand too. The backlash has been furious but it’s just the start. This is going to get ugly as fuck. Speaking of which, Gary Neville seems to have everyone kissing his arse after his impassioned rant about it all today. Please. Do me a fucking favour. Sure, a lot of what he said was spot on but the mask slipped towards the end. “You go on the streets of Liverpool, I mean I don’t have a great relationship with them at all, I don’t like them and they don’t like me. But do you know one thing I always thought about them? They were honest, they had integrity, they would look after their people, they’d look after their own. That’s gone, forget that.” Last time I checked, Boston wasn’t ‘the streets of Liverpool’ and in fact, no-one on the streets of Liverpool is wanting this. The fan reaction has been overwhelming against it and we’re as pissed off about it as anyone. But now we have ‘no integrity’ and we ‘don’t look after our own’. Fuck off you sanctimonious little cunt. Liverpool fans have kept FSG in check. We stopped the ticket price hike, we stopped them furloughing staff. We’ll stop this too, make no mistake. Whereas this little rat faced fuck has sat by and said FUCK ALL as the Glazers piled debt on his club. Busy little gobshite is always up in everyone else’s business but hasn’t said a word about what’s going on at his own club. Monday Apr 19: We had a game tonight and fucking bottled it. Didn’t take our chances when we were on top and then played like shit in the second half and deservedly conceded. It’s hard to even muster up any feelings about that though given everything else that’s going on. Fuck me this is so bad. We’re pariahs now. We thought everyone hated us already but FSG have now ensured that we’re public enemy number one. There are five other clubs in this situation too but somehow it’s us in the spotlight (along with United too, they’re also getting a load of heat for this). City and Chelsea are being portrayed as reluctant participants being dragged along without much of a choice and nobody gives a shit about Arsenal and Spurs other than to wonder how the hell they are even involved. City are one of the main reasons why this is even a thing. Chelsea too, albeit to a lesser extent. This proposed Saudi takeover of Newcastle has got the big clubs in a panic, not wanting another City or PSG to emerge from nowhere. UEFA have been unable to enforce FFP properly and City have basically made the English game non-competitive now. But for Klopp’s miracle working they’d have won virtually everything for the last four or five years. Now we have to hear about how “City don’t need this”. Yeah, that’s actually true. They don’t need it because they’ve cheated their way into a position where they’re almost untouchable. The Super League would be a bad thing for them but they can’t not be in it if everyone else is. But spare me the “look at what they’ve done for that area of Manchester” bollocks. It’s called Sportswashing, Gary. That little cunt has annoyed me almost as much as the owners of the six. The spat between Klopp and him was uncomfortable to watch though and I didn’t like it at all. I understand why Jurgen felt he had to say something but he was never going to get the better of that because he was emotional and not able to make his points with enough clarity in a brief interview. Neville then has the platform to say whatever he likes in his own defence and he’s always going to come out of that looking like he’s in the right. He wasn’t in the right though and he was completely disingenuous about what he said. “When I was initially reacting last night, I mentioned ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’. It wasn’t in a disrespectful way to Liverpool and maybe in the past I’ve done that, but not last night. My intentions last night were around the fact that the two most successful football clubs in this country should have high standards of integrity. There was no sort of point scoring for me last night when I mentioned Liverpool and if I came across that way to Jurgen Klopp I apologise. The YNWA comment wasn’t anything like as big a deal as the other shit I quoted above. It’s the fans he should be apologising too, not Jurgen. If he’d have said “I should have made the distinction between the owners and the fans. The people of Liverpool don’t want this and what I said was wrong” then I’d have actually been ok with it as he was emotional, angry and probably not thinking as clearly as he should have. Even fucking hinting that this shit has anything to do with scousers was a disgrace and for him to not take that back just means he can fuck right off. On the other hand, Carragher was brilliant tonight and even brought up the role Sky have played in how football has become all about money. Whereas you had Neville billing tonight’s game as “greed v good” Carra made sure to hammer the six but also highlight just how hypocritical everyone is being here in taking the moral high ground. And that’s the other thing here. Somehow we’re seeing some of the organisations that have had the worst influences on football over the last thirty years position themselves as the moral guardians of the game. Sky, BT, the Premier League, UEFA, FIFA, ‘the 14’…. even fucking Amazon (the greediest bastard company on earth). Just fuck each and every one of them too. They’re just as bad as the big six. Everyone is acting in their own interests and not one of those organisations gives a flying fuck about the good of the game or the fans who pay to watch it. I’m fully aware of how wrong FSG and the other owners are here, but it’s galling as fuck seeing the scramble to the moral high ground from people and companies who are no better themselves. Klopp being put in this position is unforgivable though. He knew nothing about any of it until we did. Again, that suggests to me that FSG and the rest were caught on the hop by the news getting out on Sunday. They weren’t ready for it because they would definitely have told Klopp about it before making it public. Guardiola knew nothing either. Same with Solskjaer. Mourinho apparently refused to take training today and was promptly sacked. What a huge clusterfuck. Perhaps the biggest clusterfuck football has ever seen. It’s sickening that LFC is caught right up in all this because the owners are not the club. That’s a distinction that needs making. It isn’t Liverpool. It isn’t United. It isn’t Chelsea…. it’s ownership. Fans, players, staff and managers are all against it. Tuesday Apr 20: Well this is just horrible. We’re under fire from everyone. It should be just FSG (and the owners of the other five) getting it in the neck because the fans, managers and players overwhelmingly want no part of it. Yet we’re having to hear shit about “who do those scouser think they are?” and “typical big club arrogance” etc. It’s not the fucking clubs, it’s the billionaires who own them. Still, for some of these pricks it’s just any excuse to put the boot in Everton pulling the usual High Horse FC act and putting out a statement. And everything they said was justified but it’s the fucking glee you know the cunts got from rushing to put that out before any of the other PL clubs. Everyone is chucking stones at us because of the antics of these fucking owners but FUCK EVERTON the two faced cunts. You think they’d have turned down the chance to be in it? Maybe Kenwright would have had the morals to do it but you know Moshiri and the fucking shady oligarch who he’s a front for would have been straight in there. Then you’ve got the Bantz merchants. Wolves changed their Twitter profile to declare themselves Premier League Champions 2018/19 because they finished 7th behind the ‘breakaway six’. That’s not funny because it doesn’t make any sense. The six are pulling out of the CL, not the fucking domestic league you tits and even if they were to be thrown out by the PL (which would never happen as you don’t bite the hand that feeds you) it doesn’t mean they’d be erased from history. This is the same kind of midlands wit that’s normally coming out of away ends at Anfield. Sign on and you nicked our stereos etc. Get used to it though because other club’s social media accounts are going to be pulling shit like this forever now any time they play us or any of the others. As if it isn’t all bad enough as it is, you’ve got that absolute fucking lunatic Perez at Madrid coming out with all sorts of crazy shite and now we’re guilty by association. All the mental shit he’s coming out reflects on everyone else in his greedy little band. It’s not like any of these other clubs are going to say “he doesn’t speak for us” because he’s the ring leader and they can’t break rank. I’m dead set against this thing but the danger here though is it’s almost a natural reaction to rail against some of the shit being thrown against the Super League and the clubs involved simply because of who is throwing the shit. Boris Johnson sticking his oar in. So NOW he has a problem with pulling out of a long established European coalition to ‘take back control’ of ones finances. Cunt. My instinct is always to jump onto the opposite side of any argument he’s involved in so this is conflicting. Then you’ve got that utter that fuckwit Ian Holloway saying this is “an insult to the memory of Prince Phillip”. No really, he did. That kind of shit also makes me want to reach for the nearest pen to sign up for it. And this is the difficulty of it. We have to overlook all this fucking noise from bellends and stay focused on the big picture, which is that this is a terrible idea that can’t be allowed to go through. It’s still really unpalatable having to side with so many fucking snakes though. PM: And lo and behold, City and Chelsea scramble over each other to be the first ones to pull out and try to save some face, and then by late tonight the clubs all announce that it has collapsed. LFC’s statement was a fucking disgrace. Two paragraphs, no contrition whatsoever, just an absolutely dreadful look. Even Arsenal managed to get the word ‘sorry’ into their statement. Somehow we’ve managed to come out of this looking like the worst (or joint worse wit the equally contemptible United) of the bunch. Thankfully we’ve at least had the fans, manager, captain, vice captain and entire playing squad speak out against it. Wednesday Apr 21: Ok so I’ll backtrack a little on what I said about the statement. I now don’t think we’ve handled this worse than the other five. In fact, I’d say the opposite. In terms of optics, none of the other clubs have gone as far as John Henry did today. It doesn’t make what he tried to do any less dreadful, but he couldn’t have done much more than he did with that video apology. There is no making this right, but that went further than I would have expected. So I assume that brief ‘club’ statement last night was just about making the official announcement while distancing ‘the club’ from ‘the owners’ ahead of Henry’s personal apology today. Call me soft, but I think his apology was sincere. It doesn’t excuse his actions in any way, but I do think the man looked genuinely upset (and not just because he’s made himself look like a complete arse). I’m not defending what he did but American billionaires aren’t prone to backing down and issuing grovelling apologies so this does say something about him. He didn’t NEED to do what he did today but he did it. He took sole responsibility (which I’m not actually buying for a second, but it was an honourable thing to do), apologised and (once again) spoke of the need to do better. It’s just yet another example of them seeing a chance to make money and going for it, before then having to back down when the fans (and in this case Klopp, the players and the rest of the football world) tell them how wrong they are. One distinction I’d make is that despite all this FSG are not Gillett and Hicks or the Glazers. Whatever mistakes they have made (and there have been plenty) they haven’t saddled the club with debt and they didn’t borrow money to buy us and then use the club to pay for the ‘privilege’ of being owned by them. We’re actually in a great financial position (Covid losses notwithstanding) so these fellas are not the devils that the Glazers are. While what FSG did was clearly wrong and motivated by making money for themselves, in their own way they were also thinking this was best for LFC too. They weren’t acting in a “who gives a fuck about the club, lets line our own pockets” manner. There are so many different layers to this. You have to understand something about these fellas. They are billionaires who come from a completely different sports culture to what we have. American sports ‘franchises’ don’t have the consequences of relegation and in fact they are rewarded for being shit. This goes completely against how we do things here and although they know that, I’d be willing to bet they still don’t understand it and almost certainly think it makes no sense. If you’ve been brought up to see things one way and then you find yourself in a situation that’s the complete opposite you are generally going to struggle with it. They are used to looking after number one, and in this case ‘number one’ isn’t just themselves, it’s also LFC. John Henry and the rest of FSG won’t understand why Liverpool fans didn’t want this. After all, we’d be guaranteed our seat at the big table, coining in shitloads of money every year with no risk of ever not being in the biggest competition in club football. We’d suddenly be in a position where we would be able to sign the likes of Mbappe if he became available and the sponsorships would be rolling in like never before. That’s how they’ll have seen this. They don’t give a fuck how it effects the Premier League or the rest of the clubs being left behind and they won’t understand why playing Madrid twice a year every year is not a good thing and would make it less special. They don’t get it because that’s not how US Sports work. Of course a Super League would mean that the value of their investment would sky rocket and I’m not suggesting that wasn’t their prime motivation for it. I’m just saying it wasn’t the only motivation and in their own way they will have believed this was best for LFC. The fact that it wasn’t for the best just shows yet again that they don’t get it. There’s a difference between not understanding and not caring though. The Glazers don’t care. I think, in their own way, FSG do. This is why Klopp gives them the benefit of the doubt and says they are ‘good people’. If they weren’t, he’d see through it in a second. The one thing I’d like to know is were FSG just on this private jet for the ride or were they sat up front in the cockpit with Joel Glazer and Florentino Perez flying the fucking thing? If it’s the latter then I see that as a lot more worthy of criticism than if it’s the former. Because if it wasn’t ‘their idea’ then they were in a difficult spot here. If the leading clubs in Europe are having discussions about something then LFC have to take a seat at the table otherwise they’d be negligent and would be seen as falling behind. And when something like a Super League is suggested and some of those big clubs say they’re in, that then puts the rest of them in a really difficult situation. Do you say no and risk them going ahead without you and suddenly you become a second class citizen? Or do you agree to it with the view that ‘everyone else is doing it’ and that there is safety in numbers? Let’s say this thing was announced and LFC weren’t in it. How would we be reacting to that if this league actually went ahead and we were left behind? It’s a complex issue in a lot of ways. If they were a driving force then that’s really not good. If they felt like they had to be along for the ride then that’s kind of understandable, because if you think that any other club in the Premier League would have refused to be involved with this then you’re in dreamland. My gut feeling is they probably were one of the driving forces behind it but like I said, it wasn’t just motivated by personal greed and I bet Henry and Werner will still be wondering just why on earth the fans weren’t on board with it, because people involved in American sports just think a completely different way to us. You only had to look at some of the views on it from US journalists and pundits like Alexi Lalas. Nearly all in favour and couldn’t understand what people’s problem was with it. Thursday Apr 22: I stopped off at the driving range this morning after dropping Adrianna at school. It’s usually deserted at this time of day but this morning there was just me and some arl fella a few bays along from me. So I’m just hitting some shots, minding my own business, and then he shouts over “You a red or a blue?”. Fucks sake. The only people who ever randomly do that are blues. “I’m a red” I replied, bracing myself for what was coming. First thing he says is “So what punishment do you reckon you should get then?”. Not “do you think you should get punished?”. No, he skipped the trial and went straight to the sentencing. “None.” I said. “What do you mean ‘none’?” he asked incredulously. “I don’t agree with what they did but they didn’t break any rules and even if they did there’s no way there’ll be any punishment” I replied. He then proceeded to tell me the exact number and sub section of the law that was apparently broken and he even quoted the clause to me word for word!! I kept saying there will be no punishment and he insisted that none of the six will be playing in Europe next season. I told him there’s no way UEFA’s sponsors would pay all that money for the likes of West Ham and Everton because no-one would want to watch them, but apparently “UEFA want you all out to teach you a lesson. It just suits them if the Premier League do the punishing by docking points”. He then said he’d be willing to bet that there’ll be massive points deductions for everyone. 15 points for Spurs and Arsenal because they were the last ones to leave the ESL. 10 points apiece for City and Chelsea because they pulled out first and 20 points for us and United because we were “the ring leaders”. It was amazing listening to the absolute fucking shite he was coming out with mainly because of the way he spoke with such authority about it. This fella, in his 60s, well dressed, seemingly well educated (retired and obviously has a few bob as he’s a full member at the course and that’s not cheap) and he’s just spouting the most horrendous bollocks. Some other highlights were that the other 14 clubs were all made up and they wanted us all gone. How did he come to that conclusion? You’ll love this. Because other than “a handful” of Leeds fans no-one else protested against it. “You didn’t see at anyone outside Goodison or Burnley protesting. That’s because we’re all sick of the big six and want you gone”. The best though was when he spent 10 minutes arguing with me about how UEFA’s new format means that if West Ham and Leicester finish in the top four and us and Chelsea were 7th and 8th that we would be given their places and West Ham and Leicester would miss out. I told him that wasn’t true and he was like “Oh but it is. I’ve read up on it”. I was trying to be polite about and didn’t want to just tell him he was talking bollocks and the top four would be in no matter what, but this went on and on and he wouldn’t have it. “If they had, say, 32 places and they give five extra ones to big clubs who failed to qualify that would be 37 teams and that wouldn’t work. So someone has to miss out.” Eventually when I spelled it out that the five ‘extra’ spots have already been factored in and nobody misses out he realised he was wrong and changed tack. “Well if you finished seventh why should you get in ahead of the team in fifth?” “We shouldn’t” I said. “Neither of us should get in, but I told you, it’s about the sponsors wanting the teams that will get the biggest viewing figures” He scoffed at that and then dropped this bomb “I thought it was going to be like when you didn’t get in the top four and they let you in instead of Everton because you’d won it”. Amazing. He even called it “the Liverpool rule”. I pointed out that the rule wasn’t changed for ‘Liverpool’ it was changed for ‘the holders’ who just so happened to be us. He kept banging the drum about us preventing them getting in because we were given a spot. I thought I must have been mishearing him but I wasn’t. “Everton weren’t affected by us at all mate. You just didn’t get through the qualifiers.” “Yeah but they let you in”. “No. We had to go through the qualifiers and we went in from the very first round, you came in two rounds later”. “Yeah but who did you play? I bet they were pub teams”. Fucking hell it was exhausting. By the end of it I’d completely changed my mind and I’m now pro Super League. Can we do another u-turn? I’m only half joking. Friday Apr 23: So now the narrative on Sky is what kind of punishment will the clubs face. They must have been listening to that tit at the driving range yesterday. I’ll answer this for you now. There will be FUCK ALL punishment other than maybe some suspended fines as a token gesture to pacify cunts like Everton. Because there isn’t any justification for it and because this is a delicate situation for the league. Are they powerful enough to take on the teams who are basically their meal ticket? Nope. Are they fuck. Without the big six the Premier League is NOTHING. Put it this way, let’s say the PL kicked the six out. What would happen? The big six would pick up the phone to Celtic, Rangers, Sunderland, Forest, Cardiff, Swansea, Watford, Blackburn, Derby, Birmingham and a couple of others and before you know it, 18 team division that would shit all over whatever the Premier League could come up with and then the rest of the football league would want promotion places to the new league instead. And watch the ’14’ then beg to be let in. So even though some of the other 14 *cough* Everton *cough* will be pushing hard for sanctions, especially those who see a potential avenue into the Champions League, they can all fuck off, the opportunist self serving cunts. Whatever accusations of greed and self interest you want to level at the big six (rightly so), you can just as easily make the same accusations at most (not all) of these other cunts too. Football is rotten to the fucking core isn’t it? …and that was the week that was…..

  4. Monday Apr 5: You can tell West Brom won at the weekend as Allardyce was on Talksport breakfast this morning telling everyone how he masterminded it. You can set your watch by him. Any time the Baggies have a good result he’ll be on, Monday morning, talking about how ‘he’ did it. I was in the car so I caught most of it and he’s amazing. He’s a total parody of himself these days. He says that they identified the Chelsea keeper as a weak point because he always does mad things. The lack of respect for an opposition player was staggering. I’m sure these kind of things are pointed out in team meetings but how many managers would actually come out and say it just to make themselves look clever, especially when the keeper didn't even do anything wrong? Honestly, I think he’s the only one. Not even Mourinho would single out an opposing player like that. The best thing about Fat Sam though is how he can take credit for wins and pass on the blame for losses. They’ve lost loads of games since he went there but he put that down to “players not putting away their chances”. Because obviously his gameplan was flawless. He’s one of a kind. Thankfully. Meanwhile, we’ve got Real Madrid tomorrow! How cool is that? It’s shit that fans aren’t going to be at either game, but springtime, big European nights against the top sides, this is what we live for. It’s not the same because we can’t go, I know that, but it’s still the most excited I’ve been about footy since…. actually since Atletico a year ago I think. Defo the most excited I've been for a game this season anyway. I’m genuinely looking forward to tomorrow night. Tuesday Apr 6: Real 3 L 1 Well fucking hell. Wasn’t that a massive damp squib? Remind me never to look forward to any game without fans there ever again. It just isn’t the same. It's awful, especially when we lose. I’m not saying no fans is the sole cause for what’s happening to us but it definitely makes it less enjoyable to watch these games. I’m at the end of my tether with it now and just don’t know how many more of these games I can sit through, especially when we're playing like such fucking losers. This was fucking abysmal. I can’t believe we performed like that in such a massively important game. Every single player was shite. Every one. No exceptions. That’s what has really shaken me here. Even players that we can always hang our hats on, the likes of Fabinho, Gini and Robbo, they were shite too. Everyone was shite. Klopp was shite too. He got the team wrong by picking Keita then he took him off three minutes before half time, creating a story and putting an unfair spotlight on Naby (he was shite, but no worse than anyone else), and our tactical approach to the game just seemed wrong from the start. Why were we playing so slow? Why defend with the high line when we weren’t pressing them? Whose idea was it to let Toni Kroos have as long as he wanted to pick out balls over the top? I just feel really deflated after this because we’re a shambles right now and we can’t keep blaming injuries. Other than the centre backs and Hendo we basically had everyone available tonight. Klopp said post match that the goals didn’t concern him as they were mistakes and mistakes can happen. It was how we played that was the worry for him. I agree 100% with that. We’re going out there with our 6th and 7th choice central defenders so being vulnerable in that area is almost to be expected. The first goal I can live with completely because Nat Phillips is playing against Real Madrid in a Champions League quarter final. He isn’t supposed to be here. I have nothing but love for Nat Phillips. This isn’t his fault. The second goal is a brain fart from Trent, who was also partly responsible for the first and third goals too. Alisson was shite on the third. But like Klopp said, I can live with all of that as long as we’re playing well and creating chances. Remember when we used to score three or four to compensate for those mad games when we gave away a load of stupid goals? We just don’t have that in our locker anymore. Fuck Real Madrid though, the arrogant, entitled cunts. This was supposed to be the night when we shoved it right up their arses for what happened in Kiev. If we’d played them last season or the season before it would have been carnage and we’d have utterly humiliated them. Instead, we get to play them when we’re in this fucking sorry state, and we humiliated ourselves. The ref can go fuck himself too, falling for so much of their shit but not giving our lads (especially Sadio) anything when they were fouled. The booking for Trent when he didn't even touch that Vinicius bellend was outrageous (although that was more the fault of the linesman than ref). Usually I’d be the first one banging the drum about how it isn’t over and we can turn it around in the second leg. Not. A. Fucking. Chance. Anfield with no fans isn’t Anfield. It's a field. The only thing left to hope for now is that someone can stop City from winning it. Wednesday Apr 7: Speaking of City, just catching up on their game from last night. I hadn’t seen the disallowed Dortmund goal until now but I did see Sancho’s tweet saying the ref “needs checking”. He’ll surely be in trouble for that but having now seen the incident he’s got a point. We know European refs are always trigger happy with the whole ‘foot up’ thing but this was taking the piss. The kid Bellingham did nothing wrong at all and it’s a disgrace that VAR didn’t overturn that. The worst part of this wasn't City winning, it was seeing Haaland and Foden cosying up to eachother at full time, hands over their mouths whispering like teenage girls. The two most punchable faces on the planet and they'll be teaming up soon as I'm now 100% convinced Haaland is joining City. You could just tell. He'll score 50 goals a season playing in that team. As for tonight, PSG and Bayern were involved in a cracker but I didn’t watch any of it as I can’t face it. It’s probably 50% about empty stadiums and 50% the Reds sucking away any enthusiasm I have for watching any footy whatsoever. Hopefully Bayern turn this one around in the second leg as they’re the best hope of stopping City winning it. Meanwhile, what the fuck is going on with all this racist shit? Every week now we have footballers being subjected to racist abuse on social media. Today LFC had to put out a statement after Trent and Naby were on the receiving end. The other day it was Callum Robinson after he scored two against Chelsea. Rashford has been getting it all season and the list goes on and on. It’s just fucking weird. Obviously these cunts have always been out there but they are just so brazen about this shit now. Loads of them aren’t even doing it under the mask of anonymity, they’re doing it from their own account with their own name on. And fuck all gets done about it. I remember someone got sent down not so long ago for this kind of thing, and there have been others who have lost their jobs because of sick stuff they've said or done. So how come it’s happening more then ever? Just expose the fuckers and ruin their lives. The likes of Twitter and Instagram could stop this if they wanted to but they don’t seem to give a fuck. Watch how quickly they act when someone posts a video of a Premier League goal though. Racism = ok. Copyright breach = delete & ban. Thursday Apr 8: Lots of talk about this Konate lad from Leipzig. Given that for about four months the only teams we’ve looked like we could score against are Arsenal and Leipzig, I’ll be honest, I wouldn’t be touching any of their players with a shitty stick. If they make our forwards look dangerous then that’s a massive fucking red flag, surely? Not sure I like the rumblings apparently coming out of the club concerning Sadio’s slump. The Athletic have done a typically long, in depth piece on what different sources at the club are thinking and there’s some bollocks about how this stems back to Guardiola’s throwaway line last season about “sometimes he’s diving”. The implication being that refs have been influenced by that and this is why Sadio is getting fuck all from them. What a crock of shit. I hope that’s not what people inside the club are thinking because that’s proper Man City behaviour that. Any time something doesn’t go their way they’d be pointing the finger at Liverpool because they were utterly obsessed. We better not start with that shit. There’s not a chance in hell that the ref the other night wasn’t giving Sadio free kicks because of something Guardiola said well over a year ago (and subsequently apologised for). It’s certainly true that refs have had it in for him though. He’s been criticised for not going down when fouled and then he’s been criticised for going down when apparently not fouled. One source at the club said "He can’t win" and the comments made by Michael Owen were apparently referenced in the article, suggesting that Sadio is aware of it. I’m not having it that this is the reason why he’s completely forgotten how to play football though. There’s way more to it than that because there’s no way he’s that mentally fragile that he’d allow refs to torpedo his form like that. Having said that, getting all this out in the public domain does maybe put refs under some pressure the next time he's brought down in the box and they want to wave it away. But let's be honest here, the horse is long gone and closing the stable door now is a fucking waste of time. The time to have made a huge stink about unfair treatment from refs was after Goodison. We just accepted it and we've been a punchbag for officials ever since. Friday Apr 9: I just thought of something. Where the fuck is Ben Davies? I’d completely forgotten about him because of the international break but as far as I’m aware he hasn’t even been on the bench lately has he? He’s gonna be a modern day Frank McGarvey. I only know McGarvey was a Liverpool player because he was in my Panini sticker album, and even then he was wearing a St Mirren kit. If Ben Davies is in any Panini album he’s probably in his Preston shirt. McGarvey left us to join Celtic without playing a game. There's every chance Davies will go the same route. The u23s lost 3-2 at City tonight. I don’t think I’ve watched a full game of theirs all season because there’s just no point. There isn’t one player in the regular line up that has any hope of making it here, even though I did enjoy watching Cain and Clarkson play when they were in the u18s. It might just be me, but u18 footy is boss and u23 footy is dull as fuck. It feels like all the best kids we have are in the u18 set up, while there are players like Woodburn, Moyes and Gallagher in the 23s who are just treading water until they are released. And we’ve got about a hundred keepers, most of whom I’ve seen play a few times but there’s one fucker I’ve never seen play any games yet somehow he keeps getting named on the bench for Champions League games. Just who in the blue hell is “H. Davies”??? We’ve got Villa tomorrow. I have no idea what’s going to happen because that Arsenal game last week has thrown me. That’s the outlier here. We looked good in that game and it’s muddied the water because it made me think we’d turned the corner. Then the Madrid game happened and I’m back to just having no idea what we are anymore. If I had to bet on it, I think I’d pick us to lose. But then that would be seven straight losses at ‘Anfield’ (I don’t even like calling it that without fans) and statistically the odds against that must be pretty big. Playing the odds would mean a win, so how come I can see us toiling away and losing to one of only two or three shots Villa have? Hopefully I’m worrying over nothing because if we do win this one it does set us up nicely for a run at getting fourth. It’s hard not to be shaken by that horror show the other night though. and that was the week that was…..
