  1. FIFA.com - Argentina revive qualifying drive An incident in the last ten minutes is bound to raise more questions about Maradona's coaching credentials. With Mascherano limping badly, Maradona used up his last substitution by replacing Carlos Tevez with Nicolas Burdisso, forcing the stricken Liverpool player to stay on the pitch. I hope it's not too bad, Masch could do with a proper pre-season after missing it last year for the Olympics.

    Amoo, David

DAVID AMOO PROFILE by Dave Usher Date of Birth - 23/04/91 Nationality - English Position - Striker/Winger Games - 1 Goals - 0 Club Hons (Lpool) - Intnl Hons - Other Clubs - Millwall, MK Dons (loan), Hull City (loan), Bury (loan), Preston North End David joined Liverpool in the summer of 2007 from Millwall, and enjoyed an excellent first season at the club. Although naturally a striker when he arrived, he spent most of the campaign on the right wing, but still managed to regularly get himself on the scoresheet. He is now a full time winger and very rarely plays anywhere else. Blessed with blistering pace and an eye for goal, David is a constant threat and an exciting player to watch. He seems to be able to beat full backs at will, and consistently gets himself into threatening positions. He scores more than his fair share of goals for a wideman, and he is a good provider for others. There are still some rough edges that need smoothing out, and occasionally his final ball can let him down, but Amoo is a player with rich potential. The 2008-09 season was a good one for Amoo, as his goals played a big part in the u18s run to the FA Youth Cup Final, and he also forced his way into the reserve set up in the closing months of the campaign. He continued his progression the following season by becoming a regular in John McMahon's reserve side. 2010-11 saw Amoo given a chance with the first team, as new boss Roy Hodgson was forced to throw some younger players into the side for the Europa League qualifiers. David played against Rabotnicki and made an encouraging debut on the left wing. When all the senior players were available again, he found himself back down the pecking order and behind fellow youngster Nathan Eccleston, who was a regular on the first team subs bench in the early part of the campaign. Amoo joined MK Dons on loan, but it didn't go well and he returned to Liverpool before going out on loan again, this time to Hull City. He also enjoyed a successful loan spell at Bury in 2011-12 before joining Preston North End on a permanent transfer in the summer of 2012.
