Every interview so far that I have read from Henry or Werner seems to emphasise three things
1. they'll listen
2. they're here to win
3. their focus is on generating revenues
1 and 2 are fine, nice positive spin but we'll wait and see on them...however what concerns me is that when asked about investment and future plans they always talk about generating revenues, increasing revenues, global revenues, optimising revenues in order to compete, revenues, revenues, revenues
vague on transfer spending, vague on the stadium but absolutely and utterly steadfastly committed to raising revenues
Now before people have a go at me for questioning ( and that's all i'm doing) our new owners, let me just say all I am doing is raising awareness of a recurring trend I see in their interviews
Also let me say raising revenues is fine, but if ticket prices go way up, if merchandising costs go way up, if internet or tv rights go way up, if advertisers use the Liverpool name to unprecedented levels, if we are off playing in Asia or the Middle East every free weekend then don't be surprised.............basically the concern is that the subtext in all of these interviews is that the owners won't be dipping into their pockets and instead will just increase the price of everything Liverpool-related so that we can afford some decent players-if people are ok with that then fine, just don't expect sugar-daddies coz these ain't that
