  1. He's 19 and been following the Premier League since Portugal finished Runner-up in the '04 Euros (his father is Portuguese, so naturally he is somewhat inclined to the Land of the Ladyboy.) He got on Chelsea due to their appointment around the same time of a Portuguese manager in Mourinho which, on top of the newfound wealth through the Russian, he says was pretty exciting for a young lad with no ties to any team. So yeah, he followed them through a fairly successful period for the club and was always keen to chat about footy in a fairly unbiased way and never really sunk the boot in when the Reds weren't travelling so well, even against Chelsea (ie CL 1/4 Final this year). Anyway, I'm talking to him the other day online and he sends me a link to a Torres framed pic he just purchased. I mentioned that was an odd thing for him to buy as a Chelsea fan, to which he replied that he always found Torres a great player for his all-round skill, attitude and class, even in his Atletico days. Fair enough, I thought, given how sexy the bastard is, on top of all his other great attributes. Chatting to him the other day, however, he started going on about Chelsea in a very depressing way, how they all go for the cash, lack class as individuals, etc. Pretty much all the sorts of reasons people here hate them. One real sticking point was their behaviour in the CL Semi-Final 2nd leg at Stamford Bridge, particularly Drogba and Ballack, how pissed off he felt at having to support spoilt fucking brats like that. Then he said it: 'How would you feel if I became a Liverpool supporter?' It caught me right off guard and to be honest, I didn't really know what to say. He said he knows it's not the 'done thing' to change teams once you commit to one and he felt a bit odd doing it, but insisted he felt nothing towards Chelsea now and had even binned his Chelsea gear. Does one accept this? I think I do, given it definitely isn't a case of bandwagon-jumping, given the vastly different situations of the respective teams so far this season. Maybe it is even to do with a bit of manlove towards Nando, but seriously, who here doesn't have that?!? And he also got on Chelsea in the first place predominantly because of one man- the manager. So would Torres perhaps steering him in the direction of changing to a Red be a bad thing? It's a tough one for me, but I honestly think he has his heart in the right place, so could accept him into the fold. Your thoughts? Cheers lads (and ladies ;))
