I always see threads started about songs for certain players which people then put in their own variations and composition in. When I'm feeling creative I try to pen something for LFC or one of the players but invariably I don't like what I come up with or it doesn't get finished. However, I am always hearing songs on the radio and on my Ipod which I think would make great football songs and sound awesome on the Kop but I can never turn it from a chart topper into a chant topper. I thought there must be more people out there who have loads of great suggestions for songs which could be converted but they don't have the inclination or ability to change the lyrics over to something acceptable. So I've started this thread for people to share their ideas on which songs would make good chants. The ones that spring to mind immediately are Iggy Pop's 'Passenger' which I've tried to introduce as a song for Reina but no one seemed to like it much. Another I've been working on is for Johnny Cash's Ghost Rider. Which I think would sound great sung by the Kop. I know I've started this thread for people to list the songs they want to suggest. But if people want to put their variants as well then so be it. Here's my take (unfinished) on Ghost Riders... original - My Lyrics... An old scouser went heading out one rainy windy day Upon a plane he flew as he went to Istanbul When all at once a mighty crowd of redmen fans he saw Singing songs of victor-ies… apon the foreign shores Their heads were held up high and they never walked alone Their dreams of goals and glory and to take the cup back home A bolt of fear went through them as the half time whistle went They saw the Milan scoring three …..and the reds had no reply Yippie yi Ohhhhh Liver poo ooool Those redmen won the cup The first half gone, and three goals down, the kopites start to sing On fifty four the first to score, and we ain't finished yet (be nice if someone could finish it off... I'm a bit stuck from here.) ---- So anyone got any other good song which would sound great on the Kop. Original ones preferably.
