  1. I haven't been following Liverpool fora in recent times so just wondering what people make of where we are at the moment. I guess I had a bad feeling about KK when I saw that there wasn't a peep out of him whilst C&A nearly took the club to the brink of existence. The fact that he then conducted a search and decided HE was the best man to take the club forward didn't help matters. Then walking off with a cool £15m having wasted £80m odd on Henderson, Carroll, Adam and Downing. Why is the guy so immune to criticism? In any case we now have a man in charge who, if you watched the Swansea game, doesn't have a clue how to organise a team. It was so disjointed and such a dreadful game. And it makes it worse when you have to listen to Rodgers telling us all how great we were afterwards. Like, "lower your expectations people, we're a mid-table team now. It was a good hard-earned point." Dunno about other people on here but I'm not happy with the direction the club is going in. The Yanks seem to have decided to spend no more money having been so badly burned by Dalglish ("one or two loan signings") and have a yes-man in Rodgers who'll never challenge them and continue to lower our expectations. It's easy to blame FSG for where we are now. As a group of investors however (which they are), they've bought assets which have more than halved in value over the course of a year or so. It's not good business. And now they're trying to recoup their losses. Whose fault is that? We're going nowhere right now. Not sure what we can do other than re-appoint Benitez and hope he can work his alchemy again. But then he's not going to toe the "balance the books" line like Rodgers is doing at the moment. So unless there's a sheikh out there we'll be following the "Arsenal model" while these guys remain in charge. And they have a man in charge who won't challenge them.
  2. In the interests of demystifying this taboo of male health, I thought I'd put myself up for some piss-taking about my visit to the quack this morning. So, here goes: For the last two mornings, I've had (not to put too fine a point on it) a bleeding arse. I instantly went into the default male setting for such situations and decided to pretend it hadn't happened, whilst simultaneously planning my own funeral arrangements after a lengthy, but highly dramatic and emotional decline from prostate cancer. However, after being spotted scratching my ring-piece once too often by Mrs Paul, I told her what was going on and went to see the doctor this morning. Putting to one side the inevitable half hour difference between the appointment time and actually getting into the consultation room, the visit was not a (w)hole lot of fun (ba-dum, tish). Firstly the doc was a 50-something female locum who was nearly as embarrassed as me. Secondly came the inevitable finger-up-the-hoop moment. Without going into too much detail, I'll just say that it wasn't a barrel of laughs. However, she was able to diagnose a small internal prolapse (a hemorrhoid, in the real world). It is not causing me any real problems bar a slightly itchy hoop, but she said I was right to get it checked out and that I deserved big points for doing so as most blokes don't (I didn't tell her that initially I wasn't going to). I also used my first ever suppository today. Again, not something I'd choose, but nowhere near as bad as I thought. Overall, I now feel glad that I went and got it checked out (she even gave my diet a back-handed compliment by saying I needed to cut down on my fibre intake, temporarily at least). However, the abiding thoughts afterwards are... ...why the fuck do some people like it up the back door? I mean, putting sexual attraction, which no-one can control, to one side, what could possibly be pleasurable about taking it up the wrong 'un. It was bad enough having a finger up there, but a big fat cock? No fucking thank you!!! I believe there are even some depraved loons of the hetero variety of male who enjoy a bit of a probing. I don't get it. Anyroad, the point of all this is to: a) encourage y'all to take this sort of thing seriously, and b) re-assert my own hetero-masculinity. In short boys, if in doubt, get checked out; it doesn't make you a homo.
