At least five police officers have been injured after being attacked by a dog in east London. The officers were attacked by the pitbull-type dog as they tried to arrest a man in Newham, police said. Four of the officers were reportedly seriously injured in the incident, but are now in a stable condition in hospital. Sky's crime correspondent Martin Brunt said: "They suffered leg and arm bites. "They are not life-threatening injuries I am told, but two of them are probably going to need to have to have skin grafts." Pools of blood were visible near the entrance to the property in Albert Square. The dog was shot dead by armed officers. A man in his 20s, who is believed to be the owner of the dog, has been arrested. Heard it all now.
