  1. A couple of stoushes myself and Section have had on a couple of threads recently, and also because I’ve just finished reading the Grapes of Wrath, have got me a’thinkin'. Do you think that big business with the willing or coerced support of governments has been gradually and sneakily wearing down the rights and community that the working man gained through the union and labour movements of the later 20th century? Do you think it’s the aim of the “great owners” to keep people where they want them, disorganised, bombarded with advertising, slaves of and for the capitalist system, the sole purpose of which is to make the rich man richer? Or do you think there are a few specific issues which are shit, but on the whole things are going ok and we have a lot more choice and rights than 30 or 40 years ago? Or maybe something completely different?
