  1. this guy is favourite to be the new Real Madrid president and the Spanish press say part of his manifesto will be the promise to sign Gerrard and Alonso. This is why Zidane is talking him up so get ready for a Spanish press campaign and loads of stories to try and unsettle. Gerrard's contract runs to 2 years in the summer so Madrid will see an opportunity to try and get to him. Alonso is more feasible considering Benitez wanted to sell him last summer.
  2. He reminds me of a young Robbie Fowler. You wouldn't believe that he's the same age as David N'gog, would you, and cost £2m compared to N'Gog's £1.5m? That's not to mindlessly knock N'Gog, but rather to show that innate talent shines through regardless of age or experience. But this is the type of purchase we need to be making given our financial situation - spotting the very best youngsters and patiently bringing them through.
