Not just our game, it's happened all weekend and it's happened all season.
All you ever see and hear from the FA is "respect the game, respect the ref."
I don't respect referees because simply put, they aren't very good.
I get a lot of shit for constantly moaning about referees but this season has seen some of the worst decisions you're ever going to see. It's unspeakably bad.
Reason? A total lack of accountability. Those spineless cunts at the FA stand behind their man every week, even when it's completely obvious they have fucked up. If the ref sees it and makes the wrong decision the FA refuse to step in. If the ref makes a mistake, he isn't punished or demoted for a long period, he just doesn't ref that team again.
Respect is a two way street. You earn respect, it isn't automatic. I wouldn't trust this crop of referees to officiate a match down on Sefton Park. Their incompetence is absolutely breathtaking. Fitness levels might be at a high, but everything else is at an all time low.
I moan about refs all the time for one reason - they're shit. I am sick of coming home from a game talking about refereeing. I pay £42 a game to watch footballers, not referees. I am sick of whistle happy bellends prancing around garnering all the attention. But until there is some level of accountability, the same old shite is going to keep happening and be allowed to happen. Blame referees but the FA also want fucking for allowing this safe haven for poor performances to exist.
And if someone says to me, you or anybody one more time "It all evens itself out over the course of a season" then please, for me, launch them headfirst over a cliff. That is an enormous fallacy. And one that gets right up my nose.
