  1. There have been a few we've adored over the years but now it seems those days are gone. Why though? Is it down to the lack of quality, the lack of morality these bellends (not all obviously but the England team speaks for itself) have or is it something else? Gerrard is England's captain at times but he's still ours. The England fans never take to him as they do others like Fat Frank or Terry and I really couldn't give a shit about that. Owen was ours but then he went the way of England as well. Barnes was always ours first and foremost regardless of what he did in an England shirt. Emlyn Hughes I think was one of the few who performed the balancing act and Hunt but he was robbed of what could have been his greatest moment as an England player. Anyway the point is, who is there out there that could be English but still be loved more by Liverpool fan's and choose club over country. I left Carragher till last because I knew people would say how uber scouse he was, well he was, he was someone to be immensly proud of by his actions, right up until he made a mockery of everything he stood for and went to the world cup when the England boys came calling. It shouldn't be us and them but it blatently is. I am a massive fan already of Jonjo Shelveys and I hope that this is a dilemma that he has to face in the future. England or Liverpool. You can't be adored by both, it just doesn't work thesedays. Kelly ? I reckon he could have to choose one day as well. I'd love to support my national team but without sounding too over dramatic, I don't feel like I have a country to support or that supports me.
