Former England manager Steve McClaren has accepted the job of FC Twente coach after failing to find a suitable post in his homeland.
The ex-Middlesbrough boss's stock in England plummeted after he failed to guide a team of big names to Euro 2008 and he was sacked by The FA.
After talks with Blackburn Rovers, the Ewood Park outfit look set to turn to Paul Ince instead and McClaren has opted for a spell in Holland.
Twente have reached the Champions League preliminary round after a shock win over Ajax in the Eredivisie play-off.
"I have accepted a two-year contract to be the new manager of FC Twente in Holland," he said in a statement released to the media on Friday morning.
"It's an exciting new phase in my managerial career and I can't wait to take up the challenge.
"My assistant will be Eric ten Hag and I look forward to working with him and the players.
"It's great to be back in management and I'm relishing the opportunity and challenge that lies ahead."
Jesus it's intense what managing England can do to a pretty decent career.
