Real want to sign Agger as they think he is world class and would fit perfectly in their first team. Their president also went on to say they wanted to sign him in the summer but wanted to address the Robihno issue first.
Agger is indeed a great talent and it would be a shame to lose him after all the potentail that he has shown. He has great ball control, can shoot like a clynical stiker and can pass like a quality midfielder. As a defender he is strong, covers well and keeps a good line.
There is a good reason why Skertel is keeping Agger out of the side though. We all have seen what Skertel can do. Agger might be better technically but Skertel in my view is the overall better defender. He flies into every tackle like no tomorrow and can beat almost anybody in the air (even though I would like to see him against the likes of Adebayeor and Drogba).
Skertel is a no nonsense defender, which maybe one of the reasons why he has formed such a great understanding with Caragher, but Aggers ability cannot go unotice for too long.
Rafa has gone on record to say that Agger is not for sale and that he has a future at Anfield, implying that any offer for Agger in January will be knocked back.
If he wants Agger to stay then one of the reasons must but that will be that once Caragher hangs up his boots he will use the dream pairing of Agger and Skertel more regulary.
But to be honest, can anyone see Agger turning down a chance to play for Real Madrid at this stage of his carrer??
