Tyler’s albums seem to switch between noisy aggression and soulful grooves with my favourites obviously leaning towards the latter (although not exclusively so). This is definitely on the soulful side and feels like a grower to me.

Yeah I'm still learning on Flower Boy his best album but this is very good imo. Have you seen this ? Came up in my YT recommendation. Some talent in the room off their heads hahaha

Also he was inspired to write that I thought you wanted to dance from watching the Small axe series on BBC . The 2nd show of the series  on UK lovers rock.

Just booked tickets for Little Simz in December at the O2 in town and Emma-Jean Thackray at 24 Kitchen St in March. Can’t wait to see some live music again.

Both should be excellent Paul. I'll probably go Emma-Jean in July in London. Looking forward to it. My mate knows her though EJT being a student at Trinity Laban so will end up going with her to the gig.

Same. It’s fantastic. The strings are incredible. When the sax comes in it almost feels a bit jarring, but then it drops back into that groove and makes total sense.

I absolutely fucking love hearing something old that’s totally new to me but blows me away. It’s such a rare pleasure. This is completely in that category. Nice one for sharing mate.

How did you get on to it?

Likewise I love discovering old tunes/artists that I've never heard before. So much good old music that doesn't get played. Totally understand your point on the Sax coming in too.

Heard it listening to Kev Beadles latest Mind Fluid show on Mixcloud.Check it out man .He has some lovely tunes on there.

BTW is there a way of watching that Soul II soul doc you mentioned as I missed it ?

Ooofff!!! Absolutely love that first one. Must be pretty rare. Apple Music and Shazam aren’t having it.

I've not checked but had it on repeat half the day. Her voice accompanies the groove perfectly, so clear in her diction. I'm curious to hear the rest of her album though.

If you disagree with a right winger/racist the instant attack for them now is "woke"

Could not give a shit what a right winger/racist thinks tbh. Woke is probably one of the nicer things they could call me.They are beyond debating with.

I’ve always played hip hop to my two since they were babies with homophobic shit and N bombs galore. But that’s ok because a basic “dad chat” puts it in context and they understand what’s acceptable and what’s not - and for whom.

This really explicit sexual stuff just kills me though. I mean they’re 16 and 19 now and can listen to whatever they want (they both still love that WAP tune, for example), but I played this in the car the other day with them and just felt embarr

They weren’t arsed, but I was.

assed, even though the tune is boss. They weren’t arsed, but I was.

Makes sense that .I'm not into the WAP lyrics for these tunes but know her Mum plays it.  I'd be embarrassed playing it even though its a top tune. My daughters got an old soul though  .Her favorite song is Ain't nobody by Chaka Khan haha.
