Exactly. For the DM position we are currently at 0 with Lucas out for an unknown period of time. Just any dude who can run and put in a tackle would be good enough for now.

It is reported that we are going to make a official bid in the next few days.

To be honest, I feel that he might not be the no.1 priority considering that sterling is playing so well. A DM (M'Vila) might be more needed instead

Lots of people are complaining about our transfer policy but I see it like this;

 

Borini, Assaidi - Have now acclimatised to the league, they'll either strengthen us next season or we'll turn a profit.

 

Cissokho, Moses - We've tried them and it hasn't worked out. It's a short term hit but at least we don't have to worry about buyers in the summer.

 

Alberto, Ilori - Long term signings and Ilori especially has the attributes to be outstanding for years to come.

 

Aspas - Not a huge amount of money spent so not a massive loss.

 

Added up together they could have bought a quality first team player but thinking longer term I'm of the opinion we'll be better with a deeper squad especially if there is European football next season.

We doesn't need player for next season. We need player who can perform NOW. This is the closest we have been to the top4 since 08/09, we can't afford to let the chance slip by.

Once Suarez leave, we need to start from scratch to rebuild a team worthy for CL again, that is 4 years of effort down the drain.

I think this window we are going to sign M'Vila and Salah. We will miss out on a left back, but we will muddle through and be helped when Flanno is fit again.

This rumor had been going on for ages now. If we are going to get them, we should have moved in the first week.

Salah is actually optional right now. M'Vila is needed desperately after Lucas is out though.

We should be all over M'Vila though. He is sahko's good friend, that will sure make the deal easier too.

Would Iloris finally get a chance after Toure getting owned by Benteke. He used to be a starter before coming here, he can't be that bad.

We need to have a quality DM bought in this window, before it is too late. Despite there isn't much choice in the market, and most of them would be priced above their value.

Now is a critical moment. We have no specialist DM available, and we all saw the effect of playing Gerrard there. It doesn't matter if we are paying 20m for a player only valued at 15m, some quality have to be bought in one way or another.

We should just splash the cash prepared for July now. If we missed out on CL, Suarez will be sold and it will make up for the cash spent. If we make it to CL, then all is well.

One more game with Allen and Henderson in front of him.

Everyone agrees that it is like to be Lucas or Gerrard base of midfield, playing them togther just make the pressing a whole lot harder to Henderson to do it alone. 

The yesterday game could be just seen as a warm up for Gerrard to play the whatever DM/deep lying/regstia/ghost between CB and midfield role.  

He need to know how to control the tempo of the game better then. Yesterday he didn't do that and wants to play the ball to the wide attacker almost everytime he got the ball.

Defensively he is more than decent when under attacking. The problem lays during counter attacks when the ball is lost at midfield. Too many times he is unable to provide a shield for the defence and the attackers are often one-on-one with the CB.

But playing as a sole DM in a 4-1-4-1 formation is not easy, he deserves another chance at a home game maybe.

What is with all the Gerrard as DM after the game. He didn't even perform that well and gave lot of balls away. There is also no way to expect him to cover the area in front back 4 all by himself.

Whenever a DM gives the ball away, you are likely to have your CBs one-on-one with the attacker. The third goal conceded is an example of this.

We need a specialist DM to bolster the defence and not just putting someone there and hopes he can do the job.

Suddenly Henderson is playing bad, it is really a fucking big drop is his game play.

and Johnson is making Cissoko look good.

If and when Daniel comes on I'd sub him for Coutinho not Sterling.

Both are pacy players, just thought we might need some extra creativity from Coutinho if Stoke decide to turtle this game out.

Just play Gerrard as a CB then, he cant patrol the area in front the back 4 by himself.

Why didn't we settle this in the first few days of the window in the first place if we are that into him.
