I do think the Egyptian FA had a large influence on him playing, although as you say he really should not have been there. This could be a late factor in the sluggish start, especially with the memory for the players of the circumstances around the injury.

It's a great way to turn the memory around - top of the League and unbeaten too.

I am sure the Egyptian FA did and it of course from their point of view understandable - but you are either fit or not and seemingly he was not.

As it happens it seems we have got away with it - it could very eaaily have been different though, could have made injury worse and ended up missing gamea for us/not being right for months.

It is great it worked out OK but for my money the risk should not have been taken.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Mo Salah was still struggling with his shoulder coming into the 2018/19 season.

The Egypt international had somewhat of a slow start to the campaign following his 44-goal effort last term, but his goal at Wolves on Friday night took him onto 14 for this season in all competitions.

Klopp has revealed that Salah was still affected by his shoulder problem which forced him off early in the Champions League final, but also stated that the former Roma man is now firing on all cylinders.

“He is young enough to involve a lot more things in his game. It’s not just speed, it’s not just finishing, it’s keeping the ball,” Klopp told reporters ahead of Newcastle’s visit to Anfield on Boxing Day.

“But you need your body for that and that was the only problem with Mo at the beginning of the season. Part of his body was still not perfect.

“If you work in an office and your shoulder is not 100 per cent, it’s okay. If you are a professional football player, it just takes 10-15 per cent away.

“He’s still a world-class player but we knew we had to wait until the moment when everything was fine again.”

He should not have gone to the world cup - doing so set back his recovery, that was the time he should have been resting the injury.

No shit. Of course we will. Only one team has ever done it and they had quite a few draws. It's football. It happens. I couldn't even give one fuck about that unbeaten bollocks. I care about winning the fucking thing.

    Isfuckingright.

Going to take a monumental effort to do so and maybe a points tally of 95 plus which is fucking mad considering our last title win was secured with a game to spare with 79!

But we have our best shot at it in a long time with this team, even given how good the opposition we are fighting against is.....it is going to be ridiculously hard, we'll need some luck, we'll need to dig in at times, probably bounce back from some bad results and very importantly handle expectation and pressure that will be huge if we start getting close...

The crowd at Anfield if we do get close can of course be a huge help, but I also believe strongly that the nervousness that transmits from the stands when it goes a bit wrong is something we suffer with more than other clubs.

When we do face adversity if we are going for the title, if we do let in an equaliser for example or go behind to unfancied opposition or in a big game like Spurs at home hopefully the crowd can not let the nervousness transmit to the players and in fact they raise the volume more....it is something i've noticed in recent years we have a bit of an issue with - an understandable symptom of being bitten so many times yes, but something that does not help....you can hear a pin drop and feel the tension/angst in the air when we face adversity.

One more and they would have equalled our tally of goals conceded for the season.

    At home.

Time for me to put my head back on, I think.

Yeah so close today for them to really match us...just needed that 7th goal today to do in one game what we have done in 18.

    Power shift.

Aubameyang has looked brilliant of late.  The pass from Ozil for Arsenal’s first was majestic.  If you haven’t seen it keep an eye out for it on MOTD.

Arsenal are a very, very good side.

Their front line is frightening and now they have some backbone and are better organised.

Emery has done really well in no time...with a full uninterrupted pre season, a few more additions to his squad and of course just the fact they'll be a year in to the new methods and be more familiar with them, I think Arsenal will be a real threat next season - very dangerous.

They may well win the Europa too this season which of course will get them into the European Cup again (probably a year ahead of schedule) and help with attracting players.
