  1. I fucking hate Stoke. If there is one team I would be happy to see relegated to the conference, it is this anti football alehouse shitesmear of a team.

When Steve Bruce was at Birmingham we used to never get a point from them. Now it's Stoke. It's part and parcel of being English Champions. There is always one "Stoke" in the league. Just have to take it in our stride.

And quite frankly, we just haven't got enough menace in th team yet. I;d like to have a Souness/McMahon on the team. And I know we've been saying that since the mid 90s, bet we've never filled that role, alas.

  2. He was in his element during his final season with us. That 2008-2009 season, as with previous seasons, Gerrard's presence would dominate the team. But not Xabi this season. He was like a second Midfield General, on par with Gerrard.

That Champions League 2nd leg semifinal at Stamford Bridge exemplified him taking charge of the Liverpool team with Gerrard injured. That was a team with ability, skill and fight in them. They just wouldn't lie down. No way.

If we had Gerrard against Chelsea, we'd have beaten them at theirs, and with a little luck against that 4-4 Arsenal match we'd have won the League. Inches away from a vintage year. To have that Benitez and Alonso back, alas.

But they're both gone. So fucking get over it.

  3. Yea, so, I kind of gave up with Linux. Just installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop.

Linux was making everyday tasks a fucking nightmare for me, and I lost patience. I think the amount of knowledge required to install some very basic programmes in Linux is utterly ridiculous.

Also, stability is supposed to be a major plus. Mine crashed regularly.

Not for me I'm afraid. Windows 7 is running much smoother, with ALL the applications I want and need on a regular basis, albeit a fraction slower. Suits me fine.

I'll maybe venture towards Linux again some day, if it's a little more user friendly, or I have hours to spare on teaching myself how to run a command line OS.

Boy, am I glad I learned to use linux all those years ago. Pays dividends now. Pity you didn't manage to get it up and running within a day.

  4. Depends how much of an impression Kenny and the fans have made on him. The club have shit on him lately, so without the first two he'd be off for sure.

Without breaking into the top four, I can only see him giving us another two seasons at most, if this whole affair gets put behind us. Which is fair enough really. A player of his quality wants to & deserves to be playing at the highest level.

His finishing has been poor this season though & if he took half of his easy chances, we'd be in the top four right now. I know he creates a lot of these for himself but that doesn't excuse wastefulness.

Whom do you have in mind to replace him with ?

  5. Got the new Liverpool Way mag today and saw Daves views on the Suarez situation (spot on IMO). But he also suggests that he can't see Suarez staying here much longer after the lack of support he has got from the club:

Do others also think he will be off?

I personally would be gutted for him to leave over this. I also fear for our attack next season if he does go, as he is the one creative spark we have in the final third.

More importantly, if he goes, it just shows our place in the pecking order. No way would I allow the Bastard down the road to dictate what we do.

  6. I do think it's a bit suspect that so many from the far reaches of the globe have been able to secure tickets to a cup final, many of them having never been to a match before, yet locals and uk fans who have been most weeks haven't been able to get sorted.

I'm not getting at the foreign supporters because I know it's a sign of the clubs size and standing on world football. I also appreciate the lengths and expense involved in them attending matches. I just find the whole situation a bit curious , given that the club supposedly sell these tickets based on their criteria of loyalty. Hmmm

    What's the club's allocation ?

  7. To be honest, I think KK et al should take a leaf out of his book and read the fuckers the riot act, followed by blanket coverage on LFCTV

What riot act ? Unlike United who have constantly been high profile in the last few years, and have media from all over the world clammoring for exclusives and access, we have not done much since the last Champions League Final in 2007. You could argue that even in those days we weren't milking the media, or didn't know how to: take for example Benitez's "rant" in 2008. Maybe it's just not the Liverpool Way. I don't know.

We need to be successful, there is just no way around it. Once we are, only then are we able to dictate the agenda.

FSG and Kenny need to sit out the current storm and get 4th. Take names by all means, but get 4th place.

  8. After all the shite that's gone on over the last few months, this thread has restored some of my faith in being a football fan. The way that Liverpool, Ajax and Nacional fans have come together is just heartwarming and must mean the world to Luis.

This is what I signed up to all those years ago when I decided to be a football fan, not the corrput, cheating, lying bullshit that teams/managers/fans/associations/journos have become since the new Sky generation got involved.

But these are all clubs that have had suarez as their own. I don't see anyone outside these clubs being objective. Who else has claimed that Suarez was convicted based on what his accuser claims ? No one. Everyone else just swallows the rhetoric: "he's a racist", "sell him", "punish him" etc.

I can only hope this is just localised football.

  9. when big Ron was nicked for blatent racism loads of black players came out and supported him but with Luis its been different...why? Cos he plays for us

Well that not quite an even comparison. Luis is new to this league. And he takes no prisoners while on the field. Plus Luis incident against Ghana, and the biting of a player while at Ajax is no help to him at all.

Ron being a manager has had a nurturing role to play. He's been through the ranks and seen it all in English Football.

To say that it's something peculiar to Liverpool is completely wrong.
