  1. Going the Hard Rock Calling festival on Friday and just wondering if anyone knows is it easy getting your own ale in. Been the V and Leeds before and got it in just wondering if anyone has been to Hard Rock?

My parents went last year, and found it tres difficult getting ale. You can manage to hide a small bottle of Vodka against your waste. They do give you a good search, not just for ale but also for camcorders etc.

My parents also got robbed because of me buying from a bogus ticket selling site.

  2. The components are the same ones every other PC manufacturer uses. The reason I use Dell is because their laptops are customable than any other manufactures out there. You can also build a much more powerfull machine with Dell than with any other manufactures.

  3. 4 dell laptops

XPS M1730 - two graphics cards died within weeks of each other followed by the ram and motherboard (£1800 laptop that died weeks after the warranty was up.

Studio 15 - 2 faulty power packs followed by a battery that lost it's charge and now can only be run through mains.

2 dell 1535's - one battery died, mouse pad on the second stopped working starting with the left mouse button.

    Yeah, they're fucking great.

The graphics cards aren't built by dell, and neither are the RAM or motherboard so that could have happened to any machine made by anyone.

The power supplys and betteries are made by Dell, but the look of the draw states that could have also happened to any manufacturers machine.

And why did you keep buying them if they didn't work?

  4. I can't comment on the laptops, but I do know that they make PCs which are designed to prevent you ever upgrading them yourself, due to the case construction. In other words, probably okay for business customers, but awful for the bloke in the street.

For that alone, I wouldn't even consider them.

Never heard of that myself personally, but I am sure you can still upgrade them yourself if you desired.

  5. It sounds like your PC is trying to load from a partition on the HDD which hasn't got the OS on it. Someone has probably changed the boot drive.

When your PC is booting up press either the alt or the delete key, and you will get an option of what partition to boot from, change the one that is currently selected and then it should boot up as per normal.

  6. Try Linux. That's what I've been using for the last 3 years. Does nearly everything that I require from it. I mainly use the computer for surfing the 'net, docs, Youtube, BBCiplayer, downloading ....

I still have Windows Vista, but I rarely use it.

Linux Mint is the one I would recommend. The DVD download version, will have all the necessary propreity stuff on (flash, MP3, DVD's) so you should have no issues.

Using Linux isn't as safe as it used to be. Once upon a time Virus writers where just nerds showing off how good their computer skills were, nowadays though they are criminals who want to steel your cash.

Linux machines can also get infected with viruses as can Apples.

  7. This is very shrewd business imo. Ngog come to the club for £2 million didn't he, and £13 million cash for Henderson. The way I see it Ngog off the wage bill, and less dead wood in the side and in return we have Henderson, who can still develop into a world class player (think Bale). And he will have a good sell on value, dont forget we aren't in Europe next season, so we wont need to be buying shitty squad players. I think two more players worth £20 million each then maybe 2 for say £10 such as Charlie Adam.

  8. Kit Deal + Kit Sponsor + Stadium Naming Rights.

Surely building a new stadium is more economically viable than what people are making out?

It depends on how much you want to increase the capacity of the stadium. Increasing the capacity by say 15000, is cheaper than building a new stadium. Increasing it by say 20000 it would work out cheaper building a new stadium. They may think that it is much better for the club in the long term to spend the extra and build a new stadium. They may look at it from the point of view that the club with a new stadium is worth much more than a redevelopped Anfield, and will attract middle east investors much like city did. Don't forget as there is currently a recession you will get a favourable deal with building contractors looking for work as there isn't much going round at the moment.

  9. Do you really think Everton would be happy to play the junior partner? It's absolutely clear that they would be happy for Liverpool to absorb the vast majority of the cost, yet would still want 50/50 rights. Something for nothing basically.

I would always oppose groundshare because to me, it will always be Everton getting better than anything they could have expected by doing it themselves, and Liverpool being forced to compromise with something that may be deemed inadequate 10 years down the line.

From a personal point of view I wouldn't mind LFC and Everton ground sharing for the benefit of both clubs even if it meant Everton ending up much better of as a result. The problem I would have with ground sharing would be the loss of the clubs individual identity. I would also not like the fact that you would have the mancs and the London clubs mocking us as we couldn't afford our own stadium.

  10. Not sure how true this rumour is as the source is very un credible, but I thought that maybe it was doing the rounds.

I got told yesterday by my dad, who had been speaking to some Canadien bloke that because there are 90000 people on the waiting list FSG are going to be going with a new stadium.

Now I don't want people to think that I am a mug for believing this as I am just checking to see if anyone else had heard this or whether there had been any reports saying this.

I think the club have until the end of the month to accept the 999 year lease on the park, so is a decision iminent and if so has anyone heard anything.

  11. She has defo leaked these herself. As has been stated many times before on this thread these pics will catapult her to superstardom.

These pics are very very tame, and are not much worse than a Nuts spread. If she had pics of her legs akimbo with her piss flaps on show, or she was taking up the shitter then I could imagine this being a bad mistake.

These pics to me prove that these were leaked by the person in the pics.

  12. Just come across this on the Yahoo home page and I have voted to upset the apple cart and think it would be fun for everyone to do.

    Pranksters hijack Next's modelling competition

There are many young faces willing to go great lengths to become the next top model, yet it seems high street retailer Next have an unlikely contender for their model search competition. Roland B.

Roland Bunce, 24, from Belfast is currently ranked number one in the online voting competition, ‘Make Me The Next Model 2011’. His position at the top spot is all thanks to various ‘funny’ online sites encouraging their readers to vote for Roland instead of traditional long and lean model types.

    gek9j984.jpg

Website The Poke is keen to interfere with the nationwide competition that closes on the 30th June 2011. Their post declares, ‘With your help we can annoy the fashion industry, strike a blow for natural beauty.’

They also had support from blog bitterwallet.com who asked their readers, ‘Fancy screwing around with Next’s dream of continuing to sell us expensive clothes, by draping them over stupidly beautiful dunderheads? Your luck’s in.’

The posts channelled thousands of votes for Roland placing him ahead of the other 4,500 submissions.

In typical social networking style, a Facebook page has been set up to spread the word; the page ‘Vote for Roland - Next model 2011’ currently has 397 likes. Yesterday Roland commented on the fan page, ‘thks all for da support im overwhelmed n thks 2 whoeva started dis group.’

The search for new modelling talent is open to girls and guys, aged 18 years and over, who permanently reside in the UK or Republic of Ireland.

There will be two winners who receive a £2,000 shopping spree a contract with leading model agency, Storm Model Management and a chance to star in a photo-shoot for Next.

The online vote will culminate with the top 250 invited to London for a special runway course and then a panel of judges pick the top 50, so even if Roland wins he may not make it to the final.

  13. Hopefully someone can help me with this.

I'm trying to log onto the Internet on my PC and everytime I do a warning pops up telling me their is a security threat and I can either

    A) Get a copy of 'XP anti-virus 2011' to safeguard

    B) Run Spyware, virus and malware scan

    C) continue surfing without any security

When I click option C it refreshes the page. When I click option A it takes me to a convincing Microsoft looking page prompting me to purchase the mentioned antivirus software.

Also a XP virus scan pops up saying the PC is infected and details files that are posing a threat.

I've gone into safemode with networking and it still persists.

I've ran ccleaner but it won't let me run malwarebytes and it appears to have deleted combofix.

Anyone had previous experience of this? Any advice?

Go to this Mc Afee site http://home.mcafee.com/store/downloads.aspx and click to install a trial version of one of their AV products. While it is downloading and installing it will run a system scan remotely over the web and remove the virus in the process. Once your PC is working you can then remove the product.

To stop that XP virus scan from happening again you should press ctrl and W. If this isn't the correct one for your system you can find it on the web, it just closes any webpages that are open and therefore stops you from getting a virus.

  14. Buying anew router will be unlikely to work.

Put a bit of foil behind the router aerial to reflect the signal in the direction you want it.

    It does work

If that doesn't work then take the foil and cover your head in it while walking around sayng 'the voices wont stop'.

  15. My stepdads been on the phone to sky for most of the day and he's told them he's paying for a wireless internet connection for his house, but he can't get one in certain parts of the house. They said there are ways we can sort it, but it's a sackable offence for their call centre people to give out that information. We can pick up 6 other networks, but the one we're paying for is at the bottom of the strength list.

So he went out and bought a new router for £120, but wants to try and sort this crap out with sky before sacking them off after 1 day.

You can buy a decent router from PC world say, and then connect it to the router that came from sky via an ethernet cable. You will then be able to use the new router that you bought as a wifi router and just stop the sky router from broadcasting wirelessly. It isn't perfect as it means you have to have 2 routers plugged in.

Alternatively you can have an extremely long ethernet cable I have in my house that I am not using that should stretch from your router to the room that your PC is in.

  16. Is this a sponsorhip deal with a car firm, or have we signed a big fat sumo wrestler from Street Fighter?

If it's the latter then I don't care how much we will be loved in Asia by his arse comming here, we are going to be fucked if we have to throw him on to help us win a match.

  17. I tried using CallBurner but it turned into a "both people have to have it" so it got fucked off. Thanks anyway. Used Skype Recorder in the end, although it's a bit shit it got the job done.

It's for a website called Home | Big Football Forum and it's just a general podcast, bear in mind I did it with a United fan!

Judas bastard for breathing the same air as a united fan, but good all the same.

When you have the podcast sorted give us a link to it.

  18. I'm making a footy podcast tonight for another forum I use, I know there are better ways but this is the cheapest way - anyone any ideas how I can record a podcast off Skype?

You can also use the software that your webcam uses, as these allow you to record your voice etc. Not sure how to then turn them into an actual Podcast though.

When you have made this Podcast don't forget to post the name of it so we can subscribe to it on itunes, presuming it is an LFC Podcast.

Can I ask what forum and subject it is from?
