  1. Well said mate. Those are always having a go at him and saying he can't play in the centre position are basing it on what? an injury ravaged first season but the times he did play he stood out and like you said showed the vision and technique which our other midfielders lack. The fact he has never been given a chance by Roy after stating he looked forward to working with him and the fact that we are limited in our alternatives means it is an absurd decision.
  2. Oh you mean the same Hodgson who gave a two year contract to an injury prone Aurelio who played less games than Aqua last season. Funny how double standards seem to apply don't they.
  3. Alonso wanted to leave and PUT IN A TRANSFER REQUEST, which part of that don't you understand? I have no doubt he would have figured in Rafas plans this season had he remained after a full preseason under his belt and our new medical team. Hodgson is getting digs because he openly contradicted himself by saying he was impressed by Aqua and looked forward to seeing him play this season. I personally don't think Roy is good enough to be our manager and he is only in the job because of our situation but the old saying beggers cant be choosers.
  4. If you are going to talk about HYPE then look no further than Joe Cole that is what you call hype that it made some fans so deluded that everything in our crumbling house was ok, we have joe fcuking cole.
  5. Oh here we go you and the absurd assertion that if you criticise Benitez you get banned on RAWK. I don't post on RAWK but read on there and you never ever miss a chance to have sly digs and just reading through your posts on here it no different. Get over it he has gone and will be respected by many fans despite your bitchy childish and frankly pathetic attempts to malign him. As for Aqua he wasn't played enough last season but whenever he played he shone and offered something different from the predictability that will be Masch/Lucas. But fear not we have JOE COLE everything will be fine.
  6. Yes if true and we are starting with Masch and Poulson really suggest attacking intent. Poulson couldn't even dominate against a 3rd rate turkish side at Anfield so how the hell is he going to impose a team who has a combative midfield with fresher legs.
  7. People are too busy blaming the times TE etc., and missing the bigger picture that these two a***holes will do anything to prolong their stay. If you go on RAWK people namely Jack Slater are busy coming with all sorts of bamboozling scenarios and assuming oh the owners can't do this and can't do that, whilst the owners do exactly what they want. No one knows what is exactly going on but based on previous these two can't be trusted, purslow can't be trusted and seeing as Broughton is employed by them he can't be trusted until he proves otherwise. The time for giving any of them the benefit of the doubt has long passed if all supporters don't come together too soon it will be too late and will be properly screwed. I just want the days where you can worry about football not boardroom politics and repeated lies and more lies.
  8. I said he is better than Poulson/Lucas and if that makes him second best then so be it. As for being a spastic I wouldn't call you that it would be an insult to spastics. Reading through the crap you have posted on here and that is being kind you like to run your mouth with petty insults but you aren't very good at it.
  9. No one can replace Xabi not gerrard and not Aqua. Masch / Xabi were the best defensive midfield partnership in Europe. Rafas bigger loss of judgement was the faith he put in the distinctly average Lucas.
  10. Read back I never said he was a "so so" player those are your words, I am talking about CONTROLLING the tempo of a game he simply isn't capable of it. If we want to be the pass and move team Hodgson talks about then it won't be with Gerrard playing in CM. Go look at the games Aqua played last season especially at Anfield where he lit up the games with his touch, vision and passing something Lucas never managed yet somehow he has become a fans favourite. I want a liverpool team that play good football, unfortunately there is nothing about Hodgson to suggest he is going to do any different he did at Fulham.
  11. If you go back to the Houllier days and look at how we played when gerrard played all his games in central midfield. We were essentially a long ball / counter attack team, we never played pass and move like say we did even with Roy Evans. Gerrard never provided any sort of control in midfield or set the tempo sure he did spectacular things i.e. 30 yard goals, hollywood type passes but never steadied it where he controlled the tempo like Alonson did. He is now 30 and in my eyes doesn't run or get about as much as he used to call it age or in some instances lazyness. Whether Aqua should have been signed or not is irrelevant he is here and when he has played he has stood out with his vision and influence on the team even you can't argue against that. What I am saying why not keep him at least give him a chance in the even we do need him. Looking around the squad it is depressing how few players we have like aqua.
  12. Gerrard isn't capable of playing in the midfield and controlling a game you can go back to the days when he played for Houllier whenever he came up against a keane or viera he always got over run in midfield, he is no Alonso. He is your typical fast paced english player who tries to do everything in a rush but doesn't bring calmness to the game. Only the likes of Redknapp (who knows f all), keep talking about playing gerrard in central midfield. If Aqua is out he is out you can't do much about it but what I am saying he is finally fit had a full pre season where Roy said he was very impressed with him and now all of a sudden is doesn't fit in to Roy's plans? strange don't you think. He deserves a chance I can remember when peres and bergkamp first came to arsenal they were average in their first season but flourished in their second seasons i.e. took time to get used to their new surroundings (I accept they didnt have Aqua's injury problems) but he should be given a chance because like I said before he offers something different and some hope.
  13. The reason get excited about Aquilani is that he offers that something different from the mundane and predictability that is now poulson and lucas. If we have anything like the injury problems of last season we are well and truly fcuked. I know people rate Lucas on some sites but to me he is the epitomy of our problems best summarised as slow and predictable with nothing exciting at the end.
  14. To be fair to Aqua the few times he did play last season, he impressed everytime he oozed classed and positivity and played football in the right way. He made us look a decent team and brought some light in what was an other wise dark season. I know it is early to judge Hodgson but so far the players he has signed and his tactical approach show nothing of a great new era or the pass and move football he talks about. He isn't so much the problem it is the hype around english football, players and managers.
  15. I don't know why you are all getting worked up, we have Joe Cole the bestest english player to ever grace the world of football, better than messi, zidane et al put together.
