If we were offered £50M this summer...even by a premier league club I would snap their arm off...Reason: Raheem Sterling is 20 years old. Yes he is a good footballer, talented..no doubt about it. But that is it. He is not worth £50M I do not care what anyone says....

It boils down to if he wants to play for us or not....

If he has a choice, or a wants to go on to "bigger and better" things good luck to the greedy little cunt, we all know what that means.

Also if you don't understand the significance of him giving an interview without the clubs permission then you really haven't resigned yourself to the fact that he is off to someone that will pay him ridiculous wages....because no matter what he says its all about money.

I'd rather we give Kolo an extra few quid a week than pay this little prick more than he deserves....not as if we are shit with bringing youth through these days!!

At the time of that terrible run of losing 5 of 6 games I genuinely thought he should leave. 

But he has turned it around, and its a credit to him. He changed the formation and got confidence back in the players. He's not afraid to make big decisions and Markovic, Moreno Can and Lallana all look like they will turn out to be really good buys for us.

I remember when we were playing rubbish I said Rodgers should be sacked and a United fan I work with told me he thought Rodgers was one of the best coaches in the league and that if we got rid of him we would regret it. I am starting to think he was right.

That transfer committee needs to be abolished too.

Increasingly silly and rather desperate purchase. If the player we need isn't available in the market then we shouldn't be buying. That's £16 million plus wages we could have set aside for another window we've spent on a player even our manager isn't convinced by.

 

If this is the 'strategy' we've been following it does rather call into question our recent spending,

and yet if we didnt sign him there would have been uproar that we would now only have Lambert and Borini. Balotelli can only improve! 

I think Borini is the key, I do.

 

Such fine margins when trying to break down a 10 man defence, and he's got the movement to provide options for making a yard of space out of nothing.

 

I think that Borini will be starting games ahead of Balotelli by the end of the month.

At a big price of between 40/1 and 66/1 as a small e/w I like the look of the job is right. It was pulled up last time but the time before came second to Faugheen over this distance losing by 5 lengths.

For me the interesting question is who will be sold.  I suspect that a player or two that maybe the majority wouldn't want to see go will be out the door.  Agger?  Suso?  Who knows?

 

Anyway, we need a fullback, a centre back and a midfielder at a minimum.  Another forward and, if Agger goes, another centre back as well wouldn't go amiss.

 

As for which players to target, I have no idea.  That Firmino kid from Hoffenheim seems like he might be worth a punt, and we've been tentatively linked in a few places.

Im unsure about Suso, he is a talent but is he gonna get the game time if we challenge/get CL. who does he replace? another loan is def the right option for both parties but only to a team who will be up there in their league next season, playing with decent players

Every time I watch Spurs, Arsenal, Utd, Everton lately I just think we would fucking destroy them...not beat them...destroy them. Saying that, Utd away won't be easy by any means but I hope we just kill the cunts and we are more than capable of that.

After having a disasterous 3 days...two winners, both on their own in lucky 15's. (one was Quevega and I got a massive €3.20 back) If the last 3 years have any bearing on my situation then Friday will be better, in them years I'm up about 6K from about €400,plus I had like 185 quid on a tip william hill radio gave afterwards at another meeting) just cos of the fridays (last year I had a lucky 31 that came off so as you imagine most of that came there) . Not before time, as a couple of years ago most of the games seemed to die after 75 minutes with a series of 1 yard advances & boring rucks.

I think if we beat wales then we can do the grand slam. England are pretty good but they just dont have the experience and France , well they are no longer a superpower of Rugby union anymore IMO. Schmidt is a top, top coach and he has Ireland's defence playing so well that we are hard to beat for the first time in years. Shame we have England and France away as at home we could have battered both this year. I wouldn't mind seeing wales do the job if they can beat us though, they have an excellent group of players.

My problem isn't missing out on targets. Shit happens, not exactly science, etc.

 

My problem is nogatiating for a player for weeks and weeks rather than moving on to the next target if it looks like we can't do business in a timly fashion. The transfer window is a month long and we ARE allowed to conclude business early. 

 

My problem is attempting to finalise a signing on transfer deadline day (what happened to the other 30 days). If the deal falls through there is literally no time left for other options.

 

My problem is them going for the more expensive (better?) option after the first option falls through. You go for the better option first, that's why they are the better option.

 

All water under the bridge now and we have to just get on with it.

My problem with the whole thing is that we tried to get another attacker in when we have the best attack in the league bar the billionaires city and our defence is brutal, full of injury prone players and the one DM we play has a fairly long term injury .

But what's done is done and no point dwelling on it!

Can we win the league? If we win tomorrow yes.
