  1. I've voted Yes. Do I believe? Yes and no, we should make sure we try and win our last few games and see where it takes us.. I believe Utd will drop points, Arse will be 3rd.

Well said. Exactly why I voted Yes. The players have to believe and take advantage of 8 games to put it right rather than just two like last year. Still, no harm the scum imagining we've thrown in the towel already and that they are no longer in danger.

  2. Fair play mate. Perhaps the reaction was a bit strong in regards to your post and I should have quoted one of the multitude of nonsense mongers instead. Sorry.

Yeah, lifting the fa cup on his birthday and in his last game would be a perfect send off for a true legend.

No worries. Poor choice of words on my part. I really believe we have a lot to play for. We're much better than them and need to show it consistently for the rest of the season, and let them get smug and complacent, thinking we're out of it.

  3. Why people, or should I say "fans", feel the need to stick the boot in on gerrard in his final months of an amazing career for us baffles. He will be gone soon. Get over it.

And maybe learn a bit of respect while you're at it.

We may never see a local lad captain the side for over 10 years again. Plus he was our best player for most of his time here by a margin, carried us at times and while we may not miss him on the pitch as much as we once would, I'm still gutted he's going.

You don't know what you've got until it's gone.

That's definitely not what I meant to come across. I want the best for my heroes. I wish he hadn't stamped. No one can take away what he has done for the club as arguably our greatest ever. He still has at least five games with us, so I look forward to him having the last laugh by lifting a trophy and leading us to fourth. Even if he doesn't and Sunday is seen as to blame no fan is going to suddenly lose their respect for him. But I really hope he gets the satisfaction of us turning this round before he goes.

  4. I can see them losing a lot of points. They aren't very good. They just have a good goalie and attackers who don't need many chances to score, and they have teams to play who won't just bend over, except Hull. Look how crap

They were in the second half on Sunday when we woke up.

But will we take advantage with our remaining games? Optimistically, I am hoping Sunday will start an urgent resolve to do this.

  5. In previous games Atkinson used to always be soft on foulers and then go crazy when things got out of hand. It didn't turn out like that exactly last Sunday, but he was soft on Jones and Fellaini in the first half, and that is part of what winded up Stevie so much, although the chanting of the scum fans must have been a bigger factor, before we even get to Herrera's provocative attempt at assault. Giving Jones just a yellow for his assault and allowing Fellaini to stay on the pitch were a continuation of his softness to them. He's a crap referee, sort of passive-aggressive.

  6. Am I the only one that doesn't think he stamps at all?

He just keeps running, then jumps up and out the way at the first chance?

He doesn't leave his foot in or move his leg in to a different position?

I agree, and if he wanted to hurt him he would have landed on his knee

  7.

If that's a stomp worthy of a three-match ban then really, he should be allowed to revisit that situation and actually make a worthwhile stomp to validate the punishment.

It's like saying you've shit yourself when your bums just dribbled.

Shitting yourself is when your socks get moist.

I don't see how that is any different to Costa's stamp on Skrtel for which he was unpunished after review because the leg stamped on was moving and not a stationary target to deliberately aim at. I hope our team appeal and take a video of that incident with them. He was actually the victim of that one himself and made no fuss when Costa was unpunished. But that would be expecting the FA to be consistent..

  8. It's going to be a loss losing him as he's been excellent when playing in a back 3.

Be interesting to see what Rodgers does with him out bring Lovern in or change to a back 4.

How many games did Costa get for his stamp?

Costa was let off for the stamp on Skrts apparently because his leg was moving and not a stationary target. I suggest they get a reminder, especially since De Gea is sliding in motion during this accident.

  9. Brendan should be sitting them down and making them remember what happened last season. Then, he should point out that we have 8 games left this time to make up the difference, rather than have to try for a basketball score at Palace. The run needs to start at Arsenal and we need to take care of ourselves, then count the points at the end and look at where the others are. It can be done, but Sterling needs to be partnering Sturridge, especially against the Arsenal defence. We live in hope.

  10. It is really sad to witness what Gerrard has done to his legacy with that 40 second appearance and jokes about it becoming viral. This was the negative side of his emotion and passion. If he had started, there is every chance he wouldn't have made it until half-time. The combination of lack of self-control with emotions and aging legs is a recipe for red cards.

Perhaps even sadder is that I am more worried about Skrtel getting a retrospective red for our next three games than about Gerrard's. Hopefully, the FA won't screw us over again seeing as De Gea was in motion and not just lying there to aim at.

  11. There's no way Sterling should be getting any where near £100k a week the kids had 1 and a half good seasons he needs to take alook at who's looking after him off the pitch then watch back today's game (and quite afew games he's played in this season) and realise he's a long way off that kind of contract.

He'll just compare it with what city are willing to pay regardless of merit. We'll have to bid to keep him, as it's an auction.
