  1. Hello all. I think it would make sense to drop him back into the middle. He made his name as one of the best midfielders in the world from that position. He has the ability to play higher up the pitch as was shown last season (or even on the right 4 seasons ago) as he's a quality player and as such could probably do a job wherever you played him. However with the loss of Xabi and the quality of Masch's harrying, tackling and all round defensive play, why not play a midfielder who can pass, tackle, break forward and dictate play from the hub of the game in midfield rather than sticking him higher up where he is relying on others to do jobs for him at which he excels at. He will still score goals from midfield certainly more than the two that usually play there. Not a dig at them, Lucas may go on to be a great player but right now there's no question Gerrard would be more productive in terms of goals and assists in that position. And that leaves other players higher up the pitch that may also score goals to add to Gerrard's. We would potentially be more at risk defensively and we might not get our usual decent quota of possession but I wouldn't be surprised if we scored a few more goals, played better football, instilled confidence in the team and got some points on the board. As for his "sulking", it does get a bit irritating at times and you feel like shaking the lad but I don't think it's anything more than his desire to get us out of this rut and the frustration he feels, rightly or wrongly, about some of the players around him at present. I think it's not great to see our captain doing it but I think most people can understand why he's acting like that.
