  1. According to some lads on RAWK, Agger did not travel to Moscow. He is probablz rested for Swansea although I hoped Rodgers will drop him after his awful performances in last 6 weeks.

I think we will go with

Reina, Wisdom, Skrtel, Carra (Coates), Johnson, Allen, Gerrard (Lucas), Henderson,Downing, Suarez,Borini (Sterling).

  2. So lot´s of you blame the system, or lack of cover?

You should open your eyes mates. Skrtel is inconsistent and Agger is overrated as fuck, good footballer but poor defender. Never understand this "he reads the game well and has great positioning" shit. I´ve said for years that he always hides, is slow and often nowhere near the player he should be. And it often leads to his partner looking as an fool (if it´s Carra or Skrtel ) because they have to cover his ass.

  3. Daniel Agger ‏@DanielAgger

I agree with most of you. My performance the last 10 minutes of yesterday's game was NOT good enough. It's as simple as that!!!!!

But thank you for letting me know:0)))))))

...he probably ment in last 10 weeks not good enough, and that is said politely...

  4. Dracco will be along soon.

    That is right mate. ;)

But, Agger is having an awful season defensive wise, he is directly responsible for twice as much goals than Skrtel.

Just last 6 or 8 weeks or so:

    - lost Terry for the corner

    - lost Jones for goal from the corner

    - let RVP score

    - lost Giroud

    - played Dyeko on side and let him score

    - yesterdays horror for both goals.

He should be dropped without a doubt, but he seems to be undroppable for Rodgers, because of his "finesse". He was also worse than Martin at Old Trafford, but he dropped Skrtel the next game.

If Brendan want´s to be fair, then he should give Martin a chance to get back in the team.

  5. Oh dear lets start with the slip against stoke.

The guy was past Skrtel before he fell over and Skrtel was marking a player anyway and the ball was played inside him to the player to score. The player was already with the ball and past Skrtel.

The Giroud goal came from a header from a free kick and you show me one report from that match that puts it down to Agger. He couldnt jump high enough to stop the ball reaching Giroud as could no other player. The Dzecko goal came from a superb ball from Milner, Agger was the furthest player back but wasnt the only player to be playing City onside,he was the only player who actually tried to cut the cross out but couldnt reach it.There was no other Liverpool player anywere near the ball.

Van Persies goal I cant believe you blaming Agger for that one as it was the movement of Van Persie which got the goal and the cross to him went past Liverpool players before he got to it.

None of them goals came from a particular error by one defender it was either a great pass or a collective defensive mistake.

Going by your definition of a error would mean 90% of weekly goals scored could be put down to a player making a error.Just because a player cant cut a cross etc does not make him reponsable for a goal being scored.

A error is the player losing the ball to a player to score or having a shot on goal.

If a player gets away from another by using his speed of thought to come between players to score cant be blamed on the defender as it is down to the striker s speed of movement and thought to get to a cross or into a postiton before the defender.

Agger is never blamed, don´t you know mate??...because he is so classy and composed....

    ;)

  6. Interesting that Skrtel was honoured as 2nd best in that game and is dropped by Rodgers in the next game against Norwich (before he poor performance at Oldham).

By the way Martin has won Slovak Player of the year 2012 award on Monday, for the 4th time as the first player ever.

Afterwards asked abou his current position in the team he said this, bit interesting:

Competition in Liverpool is really strong and only 11 players can play in starting eleven. I respect the decision of our manager Rodgers, after all that’s the only thing I can do, but I’m not happy with that. I say this openly. But I’ve got to use to this position. Every new manager has his own ideas about ideal team and so far I’m not part of it. Anyway I’ll do my best to succeed and try to change this situation.

It’s same in football or real life. There may be times in both aspects when you’re down and things don’t go the way you want them to go, but everyone should fight for the place under the sun. Not to give up. To get up off your knees and fight again for your chance. Only those who can do this will succeed.

I’ve come through different times, times when I was doing really good but also times when I was down, injured or sick. But I’ve always tried to get back into good shape. Maybe that’s the reason I played every minute of football last year. Without courage, fight, and will to do something, I wouldn’t be able to do that.

  7. Yes, we get goals very easy and I have to say that is the only wakness in Agger´s game so far this season, but it is major factor in our results. Agger always looses his man during set pieces or crossess and fair share of goals were scored by "his" player. And if it is not his, then its Glenn´s.

But it is probably Skrtel´s fault.

  8. Henderson played very well as did Carragher.

Agger again lost his man for goal, it happens almost every time we concede a goal. I can remember at least 5 goals this season where he was completely lost defending cross or set piece-

But Skrtel is shit in the air.

  9. I don´t think Martin is that bad this season to be benched in carra´s favour, but I think that jamie will start.

I repeat myself again, and I repeat that it is just my subjective view that Skrtel has not beemn any worse than Agger this season and is directly responsible for less goals than Danny, but again he is made scapegoat and Agger is immune to criticism and his performances are described as "brilliant".

There is somethin going on between Skrtel and Brendan, and also Tony Barrett reported about it in couple of columns this week. I don´think Martin´s perfromances should lead to him beeing benched against Norwich after 5 clean sheets in 10 games and a close loss against Mancs. But Brendan clearly showed that he has some problem, dropped him, and alos points at him in the press which is not very good for confidence player like Martin. It was clear that he was not given also the captaincy on Sunday, as by far most senior player on the field, who was captain couple of times under Kenny last season in the absence od Stevie, Carra, and Pepe. There is clearly something behind the courtain and I hope that it is nothing personal and it will kick Martin´s ass to up his game again.

That said, I think that last season he was level above this, and his performances remind me of the inconsistency during Rafa´s last season. But I think that the same things which Brendan or lads on here see negative abou Martin (lack of dominance, inconsistency) count for Agger as well this season.

  10. I don't even think it's close mate, I think Agger has been much better. Skrtel has had some good games, but he hasn't had the consistency he had last season and the old failing of giving away daft free-kicks has reared it's head again.

He's supposed to be the physical presence in the pairing, with Agger being the second ball defender. But Skrtel has been owned by Benteke and Wellbeck, and had problems with Jones and Cole too. Both of them struggled to deal with Jon Walters, which is damning, but generally Agger has looked more assured than Skrtel this season.

    OK...it is about opinions...

My main problem with danny this term is him constantly loosing his man on set pieces, which he has rich history this season and it can not be overlooked.....we conceded also 2-3 goals trom those situations this season.

But I said..it is about opinions. According to opta stats Skrtel wom 100% uf aerial duels against united, and abou 86 % of duells at all, so he was hardly owned by Wlbeck, bar that situation where he should have been red carded, I can´t remember any other situation where he was "done" by Wellbeck.

  11. Regarding your comments on Carra/Skrtek situation Dave....You know my soft spot for Skrtel, and I agree that Carra deserved a game as he played well in recent weeks when he started...

But I don´t agree with your comment that Skrtel didn´t deserve to start....And I am trying to stay objective. I don´t think that he is worse this season that Danny Agger, and I would even say that Danny was involved with his mistakes in more goals that Martin has....But I think that Agger again just easily passes by as the more fashionable player and the criticism is again aimed on Martin.

So do you really think that Agger is better this season so far?

  12. What he said.

I actually don't rate Skrtel at all. All defenders make mistakes sometimes, but he makes mistakes and plenty of them every game. It doesn't always get noticed because he is a big strong player who can use his physique to make up for it, but when he slips up and repeatedly gives the opposing players extra yards of space it is a big problem.

    bullshit

  13. Martin Skrtel made his 200th appearance for Liverpool on Sunday – and although the Reds lost at Manchester United, the post-match stats show the Slovakian was a rock in defence once again.

During the full 90 minutes, the centre-back won 87.5 per cent of the duels he entered with the opposition and 100 per cent of the aerial battles. The 28-year-old also made two interceptions.

Skrtel was head and shoulders above his teammates in the distribution department too, completing each and every one of the 45 passes he attempted and sending only 6.7 per cent of those long.

He is the least of our worries, and he has not been worse than his defensive partner this season.
