Seems like an over-analytical way of asking himself why people have contempt for Chelsea. The simple answer is: they are a small club with horrible fans (that's the only real tradition they have), any recent success they have had has been bought by money swindled from the Russian people, and they have absolutely no class whatsover. That's why it's not just Liverpool fans who hate them: Arsenal, Man United, Tottenham and just about every other club in the league thinks the same. As for his theory on Liverpool, well yes we are a special club, whose fans have passion and cherish the traditions of the club. It's not all about success either, our history wasn't always 'successful'. I find the stories my dad tells me about the first season he got a season-ticket (when we were relegated in the 1950s) as fascinating as anything from the 60s and 70s. The whole religion thing was overegged and his comments on Liverpool fans 'wanting to be part of every major tragedy' were beyond contempt and proves that the guy who wrote this is not 'intelligent' just a pretentious, ill-informed, blinkered twat.
