Actually, What I thought I was blatantly saying, (I rarely veil anything as you may be able to see) is that some fans will moan about anything. Even the way a Manager speaks, talks, uses the english language. What does it matter what phrase he uses for describing how we played? You know what he means and you know the way he sets his team out to play. I've tried to be subtle, but Who frankly gives a frogs fuck about your opinion on the phrase "controlling the game" and what it should mean?

What's your point? You know perfectly well what Rafa means when he says controlling the game. He means we have posession and posession means we should have more chances and more goals. And they should have less chances and less goals. It doesn't always work out like that but then no tactic/gameplan will work 100% of the time. We can argue till the cows come home about why it doesn't work but as I've said above "Lets be less cautious" is not gonna cut it. Sorry, but it doesn't actually work like that- not at the top level.

Yeah, Pretty much. A flukey set piece goal and then they hit us on the counter for the second- With Carra giving away a free kick on the half way line, and having to run all the way back to defend and then putting the ball into the back of his own net?

I don't know. Maybe. Maybe Not. Maybe go fuck yourself. (Sorry, thats a The Departed reference there- no offence) I'll tell you what I do see, very often when we "Go for the jugular" and that is that we get caught on the break and come very close to conceding. It certainly happened on a number of occasions yesterday and its happened in the past. So who's to say what approach is best? You can have your opinion but Rafa's ideas of "controlling" games has served him well so far.

No it doesn't. Do you really think its all because Man Utd attack teams more than us or are they just better at it? Or are their other factors? The players they have, the money they spend? the mentality of the support? the mentality of the teams who go there? There's plenty of factors- Its complicated and "If only benitez wasn't so cautious" isn't gonna cut it, no matter how often you say it. Yes it is- but thats not what your thread is about. Sorry- "Go for the jugular from the off".

Are you kidding? Over the last two seasons the number teams that come simply to defend has blatantly increased. I don't remeber these problems in Rafa's first three seasons. They know it works and thats why they do it.

So our brand of football has nothing to with the 11 men that all these teams put behind the ball? you can argue that we should be able to break them down but fact is we won't ever be given the space to play that Hull are given, spurs are given, etc etc.
