  1. @ Rev G.

It is a microcosm of the liberal elites message and their continued failure -- We are super clever and the man does not like super clever.

Our message is, well ...erm...its a complicated thing, with stuff and bad guys. And, well fuck it - if you dont get it then you are ignint.

And that is before you get into their complete dismissal of anyone of faith.

There is a psychological study by Dunning and Kruger which concludes that the weakness of the incompetent is to not know what they do not know and denigrate and disbelief those who are compentent - the weakness of the competent however, is to assume that everyone (incompetent included) knows what they know (or perhaps believes what they believe)

If you believe as I do that religion and faith is nonsense, you had better not believe that everyone thinks as you do - you would not be farther from the truth.

This may explain Clinton's loss - after all, who in their right mind would vote for a racist misogynist moron like that? Welllll.....plenty.

  2. It's always been 1 & 3 for me. Both pretty much flawless albums.

Its 1,2,and 3 for me - (although I have moved on to jazz fusion as an old fart) - I am learning to play drums and figuring out immigrant song and when the levee breaks - kind of a blast from the past as I saw them 3-4 times (no I don't remember, :D )

  3. All this season is good for is allowing Klopp to run the rule over the squad for six months, and to produce two lists at the end of it. I'm thinking one list is going to be considerably longer than the other.

Agreed - the owners need bashing over the head with results to make it clear that the youngsters should be apprentices not starters, and the mature starters ain't really all that.

Do you want to compete or not? that is the question - we need all of Klopps pull to get a higher standard of player in here - results don't lie..

  4. The game in the PL these days is becoming less and less technical, it's just basketball, midfields are largely fucking pointless as a point from which to 'build an attack'.

It's sad but true, which is why we see Leicester leading the PL, and yet will get hammered 8-0 in the CL by Barca or Bayern, with consumate ease.

It's why Man City are still in the title race, and have been for years, despite seldom having a midfielder of note. Yaya Toure, for me, is more of a deep-lying attacker, and his goals and lack of defensive ability allude to that.

    Wanker league.

I was thinking the same thing just watching this shite game - the physical side of the game is so overwhelming, that the technical side cannot keep up. The wealth of the league has allowed all the teams to buy the most physically advanced players possible - there is no time on the ball - our team wants a couple of touches, and this will not work now.

Leister not only have a quick team, but also a few guys who can function technically in the mix as well - our players better adapt quickly. Knocking it about after looking this way and than does not cut it. In fact WE are the ones who cannot handle the press, not the other way around.

  5. Come on, it's a shit squad, stop kidding yourself otherwise. We have a bunch of 1 in 5 type players - occasionally some of those "1"s sync up and we look decent, but we are only consistent in our inconsistency. The only plus point is that most of the other squads in this league are as bad or worse. Trouble is, not many of them have had as much cash thrown at them as ours has.

don't agree - you would have bombed out Ozil and he was supposed to be the finished article - these guys are all young and they are going to be inconsistent no matter how much was paid for them - we saw what they CAN do against Man City - I am confident that with this coach they can return to that. I will give you Lallana and Benteke but not the others.

  6. Basically a 0-0 draw, with all our ineffectual no 10s swanning around like drunken moths.

To be sure it is frustrating, but the games are coming thick and fast, and for me, winning is more important than how it looks.

I thought Can looked very committed, and the back line did not concede - job done. Sometimes its going to be ugly and maybe ugly for a while - the team is coming through a period where everyone wants to test them physically - they are now rising to the challenge - the prettier play will return - lots of youngsters out there - i think we sometimes forget that.

  7. I have serious concerns of my own about Rogers, but this type of self entitled stuff seems to me, to make you more of a consumer, rather than a fan.

Its not just the Rogers issue, (he may indeed need to go) - but the general view - to me its not healthy - anybody affected physically by this? Time to step off a bit?

  8. Sorry to quote myself and repeat this again but the more I think about this the more I cannot get my head around it.

He has hawked Lucas around and showed not a sign of playing that system.

Now 4 games in at home to West Ham he plays one isolated striker and a DM. Lucas.

When the fuck did it occur to him that he might play with a DM. Surely if he did he would have bought a decent one in the window as if you play a DM it is a crucial position.

It strikes me that he is making it up on the hoof. If he stumbles across something that miraculously works he will stick with it until a better tactician hands him his arse.

Then he drops people who have had a bad game in a game in which he has been out thought.

Watch there will be a casualty from this. it may be one of the young fullbacks, Lucas again or even poor Emry Can who I thought was out performing most today before being subbed.

He has no philosophy and this is the first time I've slagged him

He does seem confused to me - even when Ings came on, he played behind Benteke not up beside - what was the point in the sub? Arsenal was done, why play a DM like Lucas at home against this team? 2 goals in 4 games FFS.

Felt bad for Benteke must have been lonely....

  9. Given the fee he is the worst centre half I have ever seen, utterly hapless, quite why the manager keeps faith with this buffoon is anyone's guess

I think that playing at Anfield is too much for certain players....and he is one of them. Dopey and nervous is a deadly combination.

Lovren and Lucas will be the death of Rogers, for different reasons.

  10. I am bog standard Sunday league level but do we have any members who were close to getting signed up or indeed wasted there potential?

I know how you feel - I was a pretty good amateur, but liked the party life.... feel like I became a better player once I slowed down physically.

I played with and against against some ex-pros some time ago - Jim Eason from Scotland/also

a guy who played against Maradona U21's and with Cruyf with Washington Diplomats (NASL) plus a load of ex NASL players. Not top top players but the jump from very good amateur to even low level pro is huge.

    - had to laugh - I mentioned that I had visited Olympic stadium in Rome to watch Lazio - he said "oh yeah, I played there once" .

Also have coached a kid or two who played lower level pro.

  11. Two issues are being intertwined here. Rodgers is not best liked by a lot of the fanbase, so it doesn't take much to stoke up the fire.

The housing thing is a serious political issue worthy of discussion. But while some are sticking the boot in on Brendan over this, bear in mind that Robbie Fowler (a hero to all Reds) has built up a property empire of his own over the years. I don't know if he owns more or less than Brendan, and neither do I know much about the investments of other 'heroes', past or present.

If we're bringing Shankly's socialist leaning into this, then I dare say most, if not all who are currently or even recently associated with the club, fall way short of that. It's a different world today. Football is awash with cash and even the lesser luminaries at a club like Liverpool are earning such vast sums that they are well out of touch with the life of an average fan.

Brendan is getting a bit of a kicking because many don't really like him and it is embarrassing that his marriage breakup is in the public domain, such that details like the property empire are coming out. But we should be careful, as I suspect most/all our heroes wouldn't pass muster if scrutinized in the same way.

Well said - everyone in professional sports is out of sight financially with the average fan - I understand the socialist ethos here, but the vitriol is applied pretty selectively - some of the shit being spouted is laughable, but predictable. In the rest of the world business and profit are not dirty words.

  12. Been trying to put into words what I feel about Liverpool at the moment but you have sunned it up brilliantly there.

The fans are treated like shit, aren't we more expensive to watch than the Mancs?. The club sees Thomas Cook fans as more important than locals, people I know have just totally fucked off going the match because they can't be arsed with the hassle of getting tickets, plus they are just ridiculously expensive to watch an average team.

The owners enjoy the benefit of our glorious past but don't really seem interested in creating a glorious future.

I don't follow the logic - if financial fair play rules are followed then it seems that until revenues improve through marketing and the additional seats being built, the owners are doing what they can. Better players will cost even more money than young ones - just how do you suggest we get this superior team that the high ticket prices deserve?
  13. No, my original comment was merely "massively undeserved but who cares, 3 pts" to which ratcatcher replied "massively undeserved? fuck off", hence my post above. It hardly takes a rocket scientist to figure out why there would be more lines to explain why I felt it was well undeserved within the actual post, then would it? Maybe, try and get the full context next time before commenting, eh...

And, fyi, dominate and lose is not the only alternative out there. Just letting you know. How about you just keep these straw man arguments to yourself?

phew! Glad that dog is on a chain :)

  14. Someone clearly doesn't understand the meaning of "I'm made up we got the three points". Seems the idea of someone being happy with the win whilst also being able to acknowledge that we were second best out there is unconceivable to the moronic superfans of today, even though it's just the plain ermm fucking truth.

Yes clearly - you have one line devoted to being made up and 8 crying about us being second best.

Would you be happier for us to dominate and lose?

  15. Yeah possibly harsh on the whole. We have done really well of late despite not being 100% convincing and that was the same again today. And to be honest I'm partially basing us on our performances last season which is unfair i admit but the core of the players are the same so playing up to that level again shouldn't be discarded as being unachievable.

I did edit my original post to clarify that im not trying to be negative but we must improve if we want that 4th spot and we arent too far away now we just need to grasp it.

On Lovren for a £20m defender he should be better than do the basics and while i do appreciate his confidence is shot he really needs to start proving it soon before its too late, which in some peoples eyes it already is.

I think we need to accept that with this many games in a short period, BR has to rotate, and if some of the players show a bit of rust when they get on, or have less than stellar games if they are tired, then so be it - we won and it was not always pretty - over analyzing a game post EL in a driving rain against a good side ain't worth the effort - just enjoy the result.

  16. Nah, you fuck off. They had 13 shots, we had 6, and more on target than we did. They had 60% possession, more corners, won more duels. They had at least one genuine penalty claim turned down, and we eventually relied on one moment of individual brilliance and a fuck-up from their left back to win. In fact, the opportunity they hadfollwing Allen's "penalty foul" was a better opportunity than what we created all night long, including our goals

I'm made up we got the three points, but don't turn your superfan shit on me and tell me that wasn't undeserved. If there was one team who deserved to come out this game with the three points, it was them not us. You must fucking blind to come to any other conclusion.

Jeez - try not to let our win spoil your day.........

  17. Auschwitz remembered?? Like we're ever allowed to forget it! 70 fucking years ago - time to move on Abe. It was grim, but lots of grim things happen. I can't believe how much mileage and leverage elements of the jewish community have squeezed out of this. Hitler was a very naughty boy. I think we've got it.

I think you are wrong on this - Hitler's acts were just the continuance of almost 2000 years of the same anti semitic bs in Europe and the Middle East.

When we were in Vienna and Prague a few years back the tour guides were telling stories of how bad things were for Jews in the 1800's the 1700's etc. Ferdinand and Isabella expelled the Jews from Spain in 1492 to celebrate defeating the moors. It goes on and on - the only difference to Hitlers acts is the scale of his barbarity - but make no mistake, he wanted to finish what had been a sentiment around Europe for centuries.

As to your comment about leverage, with their history, I would use it too.

  18. 1.  Israelis.

    2.  Israelis.  The government has a massive approval rating for the everyday slaughter of and inhuman behaviour towards the Palestinians.  They're doing it now.

I'm not having the holocaust as an excuse for Israel conducting their own finely judged holocaust/ethnic cleansing programme.

I understand you, but am asking why you think they are doing what you say. I think it it warrants some thought. Why is there a massive approval rating? What causes a country with people who have invented cell phone technology and and has more high tech start ups per capita than anyone, a pretty high standard of living and a very high level of education, to militarize as they have done over time and blow the crap out of the next door neighbours? They did this in Lebanon too. Why?

    Please don't tell me "cos they're cxxts" . That's a cheap response.

  19. But which is it? Israelis or Jews? or Israelis or their government? Fact is, Jews WERE treated like Palestinians - for about 2000 years.

You appear to be a thinking man, so think it through, why are they large cunts? How did they get to this point? Were they predisposed this way historically? I don't think so. Jews/Israelis have a saying "never again" - this arose after WW2.

Not saying any of the recent events is acceptable (on either side) but IMHO everyone is a prisoner of their history, including you and me.

  20. Lovely how you don't see an ounce of irony in there.

The Palestinians/Muslims in the middle east are trying to expand and conquer based on...wait for it...some religious book.

I am referencing his comments. His thinking on the matter. One can have thoughts and opinions on this matter without resorting to bigotry, unless of course, one is a bigot.

There is no doubt that religion plays a part here, (love Stront's avatar) but there is no place anywhere for racial intolerance.

  21. I think the operative words here are 'tend to imply' a small number of founders who presumably hatched out of eggs with Jewish stars on them

Not for me to worry that this small sectioned group have since interbred with many thousands of number of founders of other races to the point of no point. Im sure you'll want to argue that these 'small number of founders' from the heart of black africa only ever interbred and somehow all turned white and russian and then moved to the middle east after being chased around europe but Im sure I can trace my lineage back to being black too but Im no more Nigerian than Nigel Mansell.

Actually- I think that I would just argue that you appear to have a stick up your ass about Jewish people and that is putting it mildly. Keep talking though, let us know what you think and how you really feel. Maybe attach some pictures of you in your KKK outfit. Reveal yourself further, your histrionics on the football side aren't enough!
