  1. Go smoke a blunt and come back and see the shit that you post when your sober.
  2. I can honestly say though I have not been here half as long as most of you.......the majority of this forum need to get back to basics, and thats the basic of conversing. Its true that Rashid does not elaborate nor explain his replies fully or in a polite manner. But there still no need to sink to that level and launch another attack just because you did not like what he said or the way he said. I for one was called numerous things on this forum just because I disagreed with some people that are regarded highly on this site. What happen was I said I was wrong and moved on as things do so fast in an online forum. Most of you need to do the same instead of nitpicking at each other which is boaderline childish. There is nothing wrong with some banter but you guys just take it to the next level and beyond. Next time you feel like throwing something at someones face, just calm down before your anger swells up in you meaty chest before you look as bad as the guy you are trying to intimidate, bully, scare or even wind up. I just look at this forum and see all the great things that its member can achieve but instead its being dragged through the mud by a group of members intent in tearing each others throats out.
  3. And why not may I ask? Of course we dont know the situations that go on in the boardroom and the transfer markets nor do we have the football knowledge that Rafa has gained over the years. HOWEVER ....we pass judgement on new transfers in regards to their ability, attributes, skill and place in the squad. So far I love the ideas tha Rafa has and I approve his transfers which in my view will make us more competitive next season. I can go as far and say that this might be a very winning season.
  4. I dont know about Rafa wanting to sell Alonso is a fact. If it was he would of sold him to Fernebarce or Arsenal by now for the 15 million. The fact that Rafa has now gone on record to state that Alonso is a quality and he is staying is a signal of intent by the manager.
  5. Taken from a thread I just created, I thought it was a great post on the subject..... "For starters, I think its unfair to directly compare Alonso to Barry as we all know that Xabi is a much better footballer that Barry. Anyone that has followed football over the years can see that. Xabi is the pass maestro, he can create a hole from anywhere on the field but can also make pinpoint crosses from 50 yards out. Not the most strongest of players but makes up for it with game intelligence and expert free kicks. Barry on the other hand is a different midfilder all togeher. He is stronger, marginally faster with a composed, level head. Although he has no where the passing abilities that Alonso might have, he does have great game intelligence that allows him to cover better when other players are bombing foward. This is the major difference between the two players; Alonso can identify an impossible pass and make it happen whilst Barry can identify which area of the defence requires cover and cover it effectively and efficiently. Whilst Barry is somewhat defesinve minded and Alsonso attacking minded, they can adapt to an attacking position and defensive position respectively. In my opinion however Barry can adapt better to his attacking positon than Alonso does for his defense. So in short, yes Alonso is a better player in his departement (passing) but I feel that Barry is a better player overall in other areas that Benitez requires Alonso to be. I am pro Gareth Barry coming to Liverpool as when he does it will bolster our midfield and provide us with better cover during attacks." ........to which I add that having Alonso, Masch and Bary in the same squad can only have benefits even it Barry cost us 18 million. Its worth having that kind of quality of the bench surely!
  6. http://http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11669_3906412,00.html He is not going any where......
  7. In the international situation most of the players that night failed miserably par from Crouch. Gerrard did not have the best of games that night but we all know his quality. I do not judge players on the international level as much as I do at a club level where they know the managers tactics better and train more with their team-mates. That said though, I can see Barry developing his skills even further with Liverpool and Gerrard playing alongside him.
  8. more recently.....Diouf to Sunderland. Keane must of been drunk......
  9. http://http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11669_3906412,00.html Now that Alonso is staying and Barry is coming.......what is that about?? Now we are going to have 3 holding mifielders, each of which only two can play in a game.
  10. Thats why I think its unfair to compare Barry to Alonso. When both on their top games they serve different purposes of the team. In that case you would see Barry drop back a bit more and Alonso drift more into attacking positons.

  12. So this has stalled then? Doesnt look like he is coming......
  13. Makes sense though. I doubt it however that Alonso might be tempted to go to Turkey......
  14. Okay, I must say I dont know who they are or how they play football. All I know is they are German.... Easy pickings??
  15. I cant agree with that. By wide players I am assuming you are referring to Kuyt, Babbel, Gerrard and to some extent Pennant, Yossi, Dossena and Degen. I reserve judgment for the last two as I have not seen them play on a regular basis however: Kuyt has been more than a decent wide man for Liverpool last season and for Holland in the Euros. His overall game is consistency with hard work supporting the stikers and helping the midfield. Babbel should be more attacking this year as he gain more experience overall and improves his game. One of two that I can honestly say can beat any fullback one on one. Gerrard is one of our most explosive versatile players who can play wide or central. You know what he can do so I wont go into defending his ability. Pennant is the only doubtfull one. Although he does provide great crosses, I dont think he has that creative flair that Gerrard or Yossi have. I would like to add Keane to the list as well as he does have the ability to play out wide, provide a creative flair, can beat his man over a certain distance and can also score from any postion.
  16. How does the daily mail fair in affairs such as these?? I mean is the above true or is it just more waffle??
  17. I dont know man. MON has gone on public, twice, to state that Barry aint coming to Liverpool. If he is trying to ease the fans, then from the look of things, he will have a riot on his hands with the fans demanding for his head. Personally, I cant see it happening now. Villa just dont want to sell, and I guess now Barry has to see the remainder of his contract at Villa just like Ronaldo at United.
  18. :thumbdown you really have it in for me dont ya?
  19. I think thats one of the main reasons why I supported the Barry transfer all along. Not because he is a better player than Alonso but because he was essential to Rafas plans.
