Leeds United: Reds youngster on trial Liverpool youngster Astrit Ajdarevic was due to begin his pre-season trial with Leeds United today with a view to securing a transfer to Elland Road. Ajdarevic was expected to report to Thorp Arch this morning and he could feature in two of United's reserve-team friendlies this week. The League One club are interested in recruiting the Swedish midfielder, who turned 18 in April and is entering ADVERTISEMENTthe final year of his contract with Liverpool's Academy. Leeds were initially believed to be considering a loan deal for Ajdarevic but reports on Merseyside suggest he would be allowed to leave Anfield and take up a permanent deal elsewhere this summer. United's second string tackle Darlington on Thursday and are also planning to contest a friendly against Newcastle United in Tyneside on Saturday morning, and Ajdarevic has been lined up to appear in both matches. Gary McAllister is also maintaining his interest in Ajdarevic's Anfield team-mate Krisztian Nemeth, the highly-rated Hungarian striker who helped lead Liverpool to the FA Premier Reserve League title last season. The youngster scored nine times for Liverpool's second team during the 2007-08 term and appears to be edging closer to Rafael Benitez's senior squad. It was Nemeth's six goal in the competition overall and makes him the leading scorer alongside Michalis Pavlis of Greece. Ajdarevic is one of a number of trialists who have already linked up with Leeds for the early stages of the English pre-season. Meanwhile, Stoke are close to making Liverpool goalkeeper Scott Carson their first summer signing. The clubs are said to have agreed a fee for the England international of around £4m. The 22-year-old who started his career at Leeds United spent the whole of last season on loan at Aston Villa, who were were put off by a reported £10million price tag.

we need a left back back aswell as right back, we have an eye on carlisle keeper westwood who got keeper of the year, only 23, and in the ireland squad, our two defends are 19 and 22 and we paid a lot for the pair of them so dont see us looking for a centre back. Beckford- well thats his first season it football (full season) we signed him for non league and this is his first season, seemed that he was jaded towards the end of a long season, he is a good player who has scored some good goals and has pace to kill, i think your judgement of not been able to handle crosses is spot, espicially our keeper, he hates the, so hopefully if we sign a new keeper and a two full backs, a right winger and a striker we should walk the league, weve been linked with kevin phillips today who would a great purchase, seems that west brom wont give him a two year deal. We should have gone up last season, we finished 1 point behing swansea (champions) and way ahead of third, just a shame we started with a 15 point handicap, weve already signed swansea's player of the season even they have gone up, so fingers crossed, with a bit of luck and a lot of hard work, we should gain promotion back to the coca cola championsip in 08/09.

Very much so, it was a long and a amazing season, the best since 00/01. -15. one week to assemble a squad. win first 8 games. lose one game in 15. lose poyet. lose wise. get gary mac on 31st of jan with no time to sign new players. ex leeds player, former tittle winning skipper cant win 1 game in first 5. start losing at home. cheltnham do the double over us. win 9 out of last 10 games. lose first play off game at home. play amazing away win 2-0 young howson scores both, youngest skipper since the great billy bremner. run out of steam in the final with 55 thousand leeds fans in wembley and a total of around 90 thousand down in london

Any chance with the connection that Gary has at your club there could be a chance of getting a few young players on loan? we need a right back Right wing and a couple of strikers Hammill? Nemeth? El Zhar? Any other thoughts lads? can anyone even see any chance of a player coming to Leeds, would be a good experience, good crowds and training facilities etc. P.S hope you beet the scum cnuts to the tittle this season.
