  1. Absolutely disgusting.  I know it shouldn't but it still bothers me how the rats stick together.  The judge doing his very best:

Duckenfield did not give evidence in the trial as the court heard he was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.  Judge Sir Peter Openshaw also told jurors the condition could explain Duckenfield's lack of reaction as he sat in the well of the court throughout the trial.

He said: "He has a resilient, passive and expressionless external presentation which gives no indication of his state of mind so don't draw an adverse inference against him."

As for the totally oblivious remarks from his defence lawyer (don't expect anything less) it all just adds up to a horrible day. A target of blame? I'd love to know what he thinks this city and our supporters have been for the last 30 years.

Benjamin Myers QC, defending Duckenfield, told the jury he had been a "target of blame" for the disaster.

He told the court: "We say David Duckenfield did do what he was expected to do as match commander. He didn't breach his duty, he did what he was expected to do in difficult circumstances."

Summing up the case, the judge said: "The deaths of 96 spectators, many of whom were very young, is, of course, a profound human tragedy attended by much anguish and anger which for many has not passed with time."

  2. Not sure how feasible the Broadband plan is going forward but it's really hit me how beaten down this country and the population are.  There's honest and "normal" people who are up in arms that Labour would have the audacity to give it all away for free.  It would be helping children across the country and also saving themselves a few quid but it's still looked at as a sickening prospect.

It seems elitism is buried so deeply into the country's consciousness that there's regular people arguing the case against multi billionaires losing money.

  3. I'm quite happy to follow Jurgen's lead with Naby.  It's clear through listening to Jurgen talk about him and the fact he always tries to get him involved when available (run in last year before the Barca injury) that he defo rates in him.

He hasn't been good enough for large parts yet but I do have that feeling that IF it clicks, the lad will take some stopping.

It's going to be a horrible, scaremongering campaign full of half truths, little englander xenophobia, and people with a tiny bit of knowledge acting like they know it all. Should be funny.

For anyone else completely baffled by this whole thing I highly recommend heading back to the first few pages of this thread where there are clear opinions being shared from both sides.  JohnnyH pretty much nails it with the first reply from over four years ago... apart from the part about it being funny like.

Gravy is just gravy. There's no need for the word sauce because it is a sauce.

The difference between curry and curry sauce is obvious.

It doesn't have to be called a sauce, to be a sauce, but it is a sauce.

Also, "chips and curry please love" is the only acceptable way.  Even if Sing Fong himself is taking the order.

Me. I didn't want him at all. It was more that he chose them over us to be honest. Glad he made me look stupid

Think this gets lost in a lot of the pettiness when giving opinions on the reds.  Some people can be blatantly wrong *cough* cheerleader in chief *cough* but surely we're all happy to look stupid when it works out that way?

  7. "Honestly, I don’t know what will happen,” the City manager said. “They should put their focus on another issue because they don’t know which guy you are talking about. Bernardo is one of most lovely people I ever met in my life. He speaks four or five languages and that is the best way to understand how open-minded he is and one of his best friends is Mendy. He’s like a brother for him.

The image is not about the colour of the skin. He took a picture of Benjamin when he was young and he related it to this cartoon, which was quite similar for the image."

“Honestly, I don’t think what happened about that. If they want to do that and ask for Bernardo, I think he will be open to talk. But first you have to know exactly which person you are talking about.

There are many situations with people, with white people and you look at a cartoon and the face is quite similar as your face and you put it in there, it is quite similar."

Oh yeah bud, the likeness is uncanny.  I'm struggling to figure out which is the picture of the little boy and which is the picture that's drawn with historically stereotypical views of black people.

  8. "Liverpool paid a £1 million settlement to Manchester City after their Premier League rivals made a complaint that their scouting system had been hacked into.

The confidential settlement took place in September 2013 after it was reported that City had employed computer-espionage experts to see if the system had been spied on.

The scandal would appear to be the biggest incident of alleged misbehaviour by one top-flight club to another in the Premier League’s history.

The settlement came a year after three former City scouts moved to Liverpool."

From 2013 but that won't stop the sensationalised headlines doing the rounds.  Not good but I think the lads above are correct, just change your passwords and you'll be sound haha.

  9. Got to love the few voices getting louder with every step closer to the new season about how these "meaningless friendlies" are pointless and we should fuck them off (super cup and club world cup in particular).  It was only a few years ago we were languishing in 17th with Woy at the helm, on the brink of administration and the thought of those rubbish shiny pots were as realistic as a tramadol induced hallucination.  Some people need a reality check as they'll be the first to complain if we have the audacity to draw a league game this year.

    Now that's out of the way I actually like this topic so i'll go;

    Winning number 7

    Winning number 19

    Club World Cup

    Super Cup

    Fa Cup

    League Cup

  10. Bless the search bar, no new thread needed.  I'm best man and trying to organise a stag do in Dublin so thought i'd come to the the place where shit gets done; The Mighty GF.  Judging by the four previous pages it seems we have the same way of thinking (nothing too serious, drinking with proper mates etc) so any help would be much appreciated.

So does anyone have any new, smart ideas for a stag do?  And following on from that, anyone got any class ideas for a stag do that's heading to Dublin?

Wouldn't mind knowing what Remm sorted for the stag do he was planning in the end as well haha.

Reminds me of Oregon's silhouette to be honest.  Must be a US version of something though as I'm sure that tongue label is what they use on some Originals stuff.

Haha I remember you posting that.  Didn't you buy Work Bloo a Greggs brekkie with your winnings before you told him what you won it on?  I hope in his new job he's making another Red's Monday morning an absolute treat with his crazy ramblings.

  13. Losing breeds losers and the longer excuses are made for throwing away these type of opportunities then we'll be set for a lot more heartbreak in the future.

We've lost 5 finals since we last won the FA Cup, with a handful of semi defeats and a shed full of shitty 3rd, 4th round exits to go with them.  Putting your house on winning the League or Champions League is absolutely crazy.

For the record, as I've said previously, I fucking love our team and everything we're about.  On Jurgen's words I am fully strapped in and ready for the ride, I just don't like people making excuses for losing.

  14. Like any player there will always be a period were fans will attack them over any mistake and there will be fans wo defend them with everything they have.  Some a lot more occasions than others.

What I think you're all forgetting, and something which I think can unite us all, is this useless fuck pump once put the ball out for a corner FROM A GOAL KICK. https://metro.co.uk/2016/11/26/video-liverpool-goalkeeper-loris-karius-with-the-worst-goal-kick-of-all-time-6285183/

Game, set and Match. Case closed.  Sorry love i've already cum.  Thread closed.  Done.
